  • Wow, first time I saw/heard this. Makes me enjoy Ani even more!!!!

  • Wonderful artist . . . so happy for her and look forward to lots of happy music. No matter what she plays, her talent shines and makes it contageous!! Sing me a happy song!

  • There is a ton of creativity and honesty in her music be it happy or sad music. Ani is so talented.

    I'm happy that she's happy.

    Let's activate! Indeed.

  • Ani's a one in a billion artist, and she's always been striking to me, too, but she is so stunning in this clip. It is that two jawed smile of hers. There seems less tension in her here, she's lighter. Glad I came upon this.

  • Ani DiFranco... Billboard... Anyone else confused? :P:)

  • @yobhsiFehT me too??!!

  • What is up with people not liking sad songs anyway? I guess it's not hip to walk around mourning the loss of friends, family, animals, co-workers, homes, it's okay though. Keeping a positive bend on things has a place, at least biblically.

  • Love old Ani & I love the refreshed Ani!

  • "music is always about transcendence" There couldn't be words more true. Love you Ani.

  • I hope she'll perform in the Netherlands soon... I missed the last show and she's just freaking awesome!! Her lyrics are... so good... I can't recall another singer with such a lot of metaphors and the words she uses are beautiful. (L) her!

  • Some people seem to think that you have to be tortured to create something meaningful and that writing from a healthy and happy place makes you naive or devalues what you've said/written before.Songs capture a period in time, a moment that is relevant then for the artist.People grow or fall apart and their work consequently refelcts that.

  • Agree, just as long as the moment is relevant and creatively interpreted.

  • Ani Difranco = a true American Treasure!

  • she seems so sad. Doesn't anybody else see it??

    Guess not.

  • hmm, I think she's always been fairly melancholy, really. or at least for the last ten years or so.

the worst for me is hearing her speak about anything political, because she sounds so brainwashed and "obligated", like someone is forcing her to do something. i prefer her sense of humor, when she lets out her blacker view of things and paradoxically sounds much happier...

  • Have you seen/heard her at all over the last decade?

She's happier than she's ever been.

    Watch her progression.

Gives me hope, I can say that much.

  • I'd love to raise a child with her. She sings and talks what is right.

  • I've seen her twice and she is great. Love to hear her play. :)

  • a huge fan for years.

    wonderful wonderful woman.

  • so happy she feels happy ^____^

  • I really dig her writing, her presence, and her smile.

  • I LOVE hearing HER talk....

    she gives so much

  • Ani's 38 (her birthday was Sep. 23) and Petah Lucia will be 2 on January 20, I think.

  • how old is she now and how old is her baby?

  • OMG!!!!

    He's an Asshole obviously.

  • it's nice to hear her happy... she released so much pain through music... it's nice that she doesn't have to anymore...

  • YAY Buffalo!!

  • oh my god. is anyone else dying? i think she's amazing. ani fans?! where are you?! sos. SOS. i think this was... amazing. propelling force? amazing. fucking amazing. i love you ani difranco.

  • I'm a right here! She keeps moving me!

  • @rickydickypants ditto ;) i've adored this woman for more than 15 years...seeing her happy is like watching a dear friend finally find joy. anyone who hasn't been with her through all of it might not understand, but that's ok...they don't need to. she's brilliant...that's all there is to it.

  • I love her poems.
