@Longboardmaestro sparring gloves are softer so that when you hit the other guy more energy is absorbed by the blove, pad/bag gloves have harder padding
@ratethisgear I can only find these short cuff gloves in 12oz on the rival site and some other site could you tell me where I can get these in 16oz with the short cuff thanks for the review and the help
awesome reviews, but you are by far the most BORING person on earth. You've got the functional personality of a tree sloth....but I value your reviews.
I had these in Velcro and what a great well made glove it was,but sent them back as i didn't like the way the Velcro fastens in a diagonal direction across the wrist !
rival gloves are the best ! i dont feel any pain when im hitting the heavy bag, they're expensive but worth it. unlike the everlast evergel its a shitty product, my wrist is crying in pain everytime i hit the bag.
@perestroikaMoska I wouldn't use any sparring glove for bag work. The padding isn't designed to take the stress of bag work and will break down a lot quicker. Bag gloves generally have a denser/stiffer padding than sparring gloves.
@boxerkid09 i answered my own question with this one. i haven't tried on a pair of grants but i got the blue rival long cuff sparring gloves, and having smaller hands, you can't beat these for how snug and comfortable they are. great padding..glad i got these
i just stated boxing for 2 weeks what gloves should i get i was thinking about pro trianing gloves or leather super bag gloves whcih should i get . or should i get something else please respond back
Awesome review man I have basically the same gloves and I love them for bag or sparring. I like the lace track system but i feel like the way I do it is not good enough can you do video showing me how you would do them so I could compare. Thanks
well the only cons he mentioned about the gloves were personal preference, so I'm guessing they're high quality like grant and winning as I've never heard anything bad about them.
Looks amazing which model u have?

@bubkusjones so i think it will broke down when used continuously and frequently, is that right?
perestroikaMoska 1 year ago
@perestroikaMoska Yeah. Get a pair of bag-specific gloves for your bag and pad work.
bubkusjones 1 year ago
@bubkusjones yeah but it would still take like 3 years...

Rival quality is superb....and if you're in Canada, there are no customs fees...without a doubt the best quality at the best price point imo.

good reviews man. keep up the good work. and btw... how do you rate these gloves compared to IMF ringside gloves? better or worse?
d1drifter87 2 years ago
good question , i find these in long cuff slightly better for me the the imf tech
ratethisgear 2 years ago
that's cool. They do look pretty well made. I was especially interested on their very unique cuff design.
