  • Jeez the beginning to this is weird x3

  • I fall asleep to this song :)

  • Stop your trying to bruise my mind. I can do it on my own

  • BEER GOGGLES BABY They'll make your mom look good.

  • Spring of '93. Saturday morning, my girlfriend and I dosed some Felix the Cat early, and went to a buddies house to score some rag. They gave us a couple knocks on a bong, and sent us on our way. "Searching for the ground....." played on the stereo in the car, and the Felix kicked in on top of the weed. TRAILS!!! (First and only time.) I had to pull over and collect myself. Went straight home, darkened my room and listened to "Dark Side Of the Moon". Fun, but VERY dangerous. I'm glad I grew up.

  • Very few songs get more epic than the last 90 seconds of this one.

  • @TheDoobad1 but you will bnever been like him :/

  • This songs so amazing. Its just so unorthodox with its layout and I can't imagine how hard it would be to create a song this unique and insanely awesome. I love Soundgarden!

  • fucking ads

  • Drum fill at 5:11 wtf?!

  • im blind in my left eye...soundgarden mocks me...whatever they kick my ass....

  • @Teutonic1250 I am blind in my left eye as well. I feel your comment well.

  • @Teutonic1250 me too!

  • This is the song that hipped me to Soundgarden. There was still a REAL Z-ROCK, and I could get it out in rural, BFE Michigan on a clear night. This song came on & blew my fuckin' mind. Still make sure to keep Bad Motorfinger on hand...

    Epic as ever.

  • AAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWSSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOMMMMEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it is totally making my night to see that one every video people are spreading the word about the reunion. Keep it up guys!

  • FUCK YOU CEELER221 You don't knw shit.. Cornell is a genius. Get saved bitch!

  • This is soundgarden in thier prime.

  • This is one of their best songs by a fucking mile. Incredibly well done and incredibly produced.

  • bad ass live too

  • Either youtube is getting buggy, or I'm having hallucinations, or by the time I'm writing this post there are 0 (with letters: zero) dislikes by the time I'm writing this post (as it should be) ^_^

  • this song is awsome!!!

  • the devils says. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

  • The build-up between 3:50 and 4:40 is... beyond words. And then the explosion of drums and the heavy-sounding metal (metal as in the material metal) beat in the background... gives me chills every time :)

  • Respond to this video... watch TheNewParadigm7 playlist on youtube and subscribe!

  • Seen them 3 times in the 90's!! Come back to Toronto~~

  • 6:32 of my life wasted, and I enjoyed every fucking minute of it!

  • nice playing though, that was sweet!

  • You can"t predict the future

  • thats a good song :D

  • Proof that this great music........I NEVER get tired of Soundgarden!!!

  • @dunk691 Amen

  • this has to be one of the greatest songs ever

  • I like to think it's about not knowing where you're going to be in the future, what's going to happen if you keep living your life the way you do... of course the one speaking (Chris in this case) seems to be shaken by life, by someone or something... that's maybe what keeps him 'with his good eye closed' and 'searching for a ground'... somewhere, some place where he can rest at. He doesn't know where the fuck he's going, but still he goes...

  • ..."I don't remember half the time if I'm hiding or I'm lost... but I'm on my way". It happened to me so many times, and I think it's always happening to all of us. Maybe not necesarily being shaken, but I like to think you can't predict the future no matter what you do... and that's wonderful, amazing, and terrifying at the same time.

  • @handrix89 looking for a paradigm... maybe searching for meaning in life? But twisted as we are, we are searching for meaning in life with our good eye closed because we all have our own colorations fed by our own expectations. just guessing, but still this song resonates so strongly with me. My idea might not be yours but it is my firm belief which is what makes this a classic that most sheople will never hear. thanks for being one of the few that are alive and intelligent!

  • @treetrashish that's what makes the world so wonderful: diversity of ideas! don't thank me, thank yourself. It's good to know I'm not the only one who appreciates this song so much.

To me it's as simple as the phrase "searching with my good eye closed"... put your hand over your "good" eye and try to see things which are far away... this song is a big perfect metaphore (L)

  • @treetrashish You got any of that acid left?

  • Do you hear a cow?

  • Them and Mother Love Bone, are the only bands who translated the Zep feel into 90's music.

  • @MagnumJoe

Hey Hey Hey! Bite your tongue! Lol. Don't forget about The Tea Party (one of the GREATEST Canadian bands from the 90's) with songs like Save Me, The River, The Majestic Song or even Haze On The Hills!

  • Ok... Soundgarden, STP, RATM, Primus, and Smashing Pumpkins reuniting. SWEET! If I could only go back to '92-'94 and be 18-20 again when these guys ruled the airwaves! Kurt would still be alive, Pearl Jam would still have rocked and all would be right with the world. Death to Justin Beiber, prefab bands and pop music!

  • @radioWTF, I think the song is about being looked at like a devil, but finding God somehow, but the song is still open to your own perception as well.

  • Jared~~Do you like this one?

  • No one mentions Louder than Love ... great tunes "Nothing to Say" "Loud Love" "Ugly Truth" "Uncovered" "Hands all Over".... all of which are classic! If I had to choose only one Soundgarden album ... that's it ... although it'd be hard to lget bye without this song.

  • Best song ever

  • The devil says, soundgarden is back.

  • @Halfdead14 also says they never left!!!! :)

  • @Halfdead14 They never left my heart and mind. Now I finally can see them live. Fuck yeah!

  • i love the solo....the begaiining is creppy. some kind of illmantuii thing? devil?

even the song new damage. is about illmatunii

and superunknown is illmatuniii readd the lyrics!

  • 91 thumbs up and no thumbs down because everyone loves Soundgarden.

  • first song they played at lollapalooza 2010...fucking epic...

  • the devil says ..........AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH

  • Greatest 90's bands : Soundgarden, Alice in chains, Rage Against the Machine, and Nirvana....God I miss the 90's when chicks rocked too (i.e. Hole, Veruca Salt, Babes in Toyland), we'll never get that back, such a shame!...damn that sucks the early 90's was such a great time for music

  • @Dingus39 I agree 100%, every band had their own sound, even bands that weren't big are considered influential (Quicksand, Jawbox , Failure, Jesus Lizard, Therapy, L7 etc.). I feel sorry for this new generation cuz they have to listen to bands (in my opinion) sound the same, and it seems to me that these new bands are just doing it for the fame. Unfortunately everybody wants to party like a rockstar rather then create meaningful music.

  • Let's close the other one and make a sequel.
