i dont have text tool, all i have is horizontal type tool? but ii get the text i want on my pic, the font i want, and the position, but i cant seem to change the color of the font, i pick a color but it just text is black when im dont positioning the text. how do i get the color to stay what i want

When you're on the text tool same thing.... there should be a colored square to the top right middle.

yes i do that, and change the color i wat, but no mater what it turns out black, and if i try to deviate different colors icons, it changes from shades of gray and black, and the picture is locked when i open it. does that have any affect? its from google images and saved to my computer

Picures that are locked are usally pictures from online that you saved. Maybe somethign in your settings is wrong or it's a dodgy copy.
