Let me make myself clear that it may help to have the bow planes. Since I haven't tried them myself I can't really comment with experience. However from the way this boat behaves It's safe to say it will work without them. I did use the D&E mod package for the rudders, stern planes which are excellent work. Saved me a great deal of time. Happy building.
Wow that was fantastic. I haven't built mine yet. I need the sub-driver. I was going to go with DM'S subdriver and bow-planes but seeing this seaview run so well and turn well I may not use working bow planes.
And to clear up another great mystery. I did forget to put back the FS-bay door. It is held on with magnets and how I install the battery. It makes no difference to the trim at all.
It has been said that I can only dive level at a snails pace. That's not true. I'm diving at about half throttle. Although I can dive faster with the same level results I'm not interested in the Seaview being a rocket but rather it have a nice scale appearance.
So no bow planes. I hope this ends the controversy about the Seaview needing them. This video shows a lot of video (not the lucky passes) of her nice and level from dive to level trim over and over.
Thank you. It's a pretty old video now and I still have the Seaview and she still works great!

Beautiful! But, the soundtrack from the second season opener "Jonah and the Whale" would fit better for this video.
Just a suggestion.

Great underwater shots. The ship is so stable and turns just like the real thing. All I can say is "Long Live the Seaview."

I did not use directional veins in the bow tubes.
