Rauf und runter lief spyro gyra und dazu gabs immer was gutes zu schmauchen. Auch heute grosse Musik, auch ohne schmauchen und dazu viele Erinnerungen an eine junge Zeit.
WOW!!! Haven't heard this "Morning Dance" 45 RPM flip-side since I "killed it" on my high school FM radio show way back in the late 70s / early 80s (hearing this again makes it all seem like yesterday!)! Thanks ever so much for sharing!!! God Bless!!! Dave Lounder, CT ["Whatever you vividly imagine, ardently desire, sincerely believe, and enthusiastically act upon, must inevitably come to pass!"]
I'm interested in dedicating this song to Mrs. Lorraine "Lorrie" Sullenberger. She may have remained strong throughout the news reports on the US Airways Flight 1549 emergency landing in the Hudson River.
Although this is wonderful, I'm just learning this was done around the same time frame when, "Emergency!," folded. I was sad about that type of thing. However, I was happy the stars of that show got opportunities to do other projects. Julie London did one final project. That was her rendition of, "My Funny Valentine," for the motion picture, "Sharky's Machine."
In summer '79, I was an 18 y/o airman stationed in San Antonio. I had just come back from taking leave at home in CA, where my dad co-signed for my brand new Chevy Monza, which came with a cassette player. I walked into a record store specifically to buy contempo jazz tapes. Had never hear of Spyro Gryra & the record clerk who was hitting on me suggested that I get "Morning Dance." Good thing I listened to him. I've been in love with Spyro Gryra ever since. :-)
Interesting that you mention this; it was also in the early Summer of '79 that I first started to appreciate the music of Spyro Gyra, and that genre of "soft" jazz. Been a devoted fan of this amazing group ever since. BTW, I was a 20 year-old Airman stationed at Wright-Patt in Dayton, OH at the time. Yes, it's a rather small world indeed; my first NEW car was a '78 Chevy Nova. Enjoy!
@GasconyKid Ah,yes, Wright Patt -- home of the alien conspiracy! It is a very small world. I've had the pleasure of seeing this group live twice -- back in '87 and again 20 years later in '07. Spyro Gyra represents good times for me and will always be one of my sentimental favorites. :)

The feel of this album is essentially the same as that of Carnaval, yet we harshly put them in different decades. Love it.

Great track from propably the best spyro album 'Morning dance'. It would be so great if somebody would put also 'End of romantisism' into the Tube!
