@Badax01 mostly because in order to get the "shepard" is dead ending you basically have to practically do no missions other than the recruitments. I mean why would you bother playing game that ends in like 12 missions :) You have to consciously choose not to bother, that's what makes it a dumb ending.

@Baito28 I was wondering the same thing; from what I gather from looking at sites, if you died in ME2 you can't import to ME3. Story continuity into account the word is that if you died in ME2 you have to accept that's where your Shep's story ended. You can play ME3 as a new Shep but it won't be relevant to your past experience.

@AllUsernameTaken123 During the First Contact War he was exposed to one of those Reaper devices that turns people into husks. His exposure was brief - it changed his eyes but he kept his free will. It was Saren's general brother wanting to use it to create an unstoppable Turian army and conquer Earth that inspired the Illusive Man to create Cerberus.

Just to be safe though I would not make Jack a squad leader or distraction team leader or anything else for that matter ,it is better to leave that to the people better suited and who's loyalty you have hopefully already gained.

I didn't assign her as a squad leader and still lost her. Didn't like jack but didnt want her to die :\

@Dchybrid That's odd ,I have played through the game twice already without having Jack's loyalty b/c of that fight ,and she or anyone else for that matter has died yet ,I guess I was just very lucky or you were just unlucky. Did you have everyone else's loyalty gained ,and did you upgrade their guns/armor/abilities ,with prototype upgrades ,I don't know if that makes a difference or not ;however, that is the only things I can think of that could have saved Jack in my games ,and not in yours.
