  • Metallica did it first MY ASS. Long live to Johnny Cash.

  • metallica did it first

  • clayton1296 i didnt say rock and roll i said rockabilly. rockabilly being the switch from old school country to what cash played. cash was also considered pop in his time and a lot of critics hated that, for a while he wasnt even allowed to play the opry because he was too pop

  • Johnny is a lyrical master!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is there live footage of this anywhere?

  • @1977Melville There is but it seems it was removed from youtube after Cash died. Shame, because those videos inspire so many.

  • @1977Melville yes there is just look it up live at Folsom Prison ,,,

  • i run too slow :(

  • Now Adams or would be all black people and they would want to hear rap

  • Metallica lyrics make you strong, and reflects the life of Hetfield, and hard life of some prisoners too. Many prisoners identified with the lyrics of Metallica. Not is a comparison. Johnny Cash, is very different to tallica, is just a comment.

  • 33 ODed with cocaine.

  • JC RULEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • metallica sucks now anyway

  • lykt,robbie,w.wel,picture

  • i love you USA....going out to my x best friend

  • i love you USA

  • Why r people bringing up Metallica? Metallica made a video in prison. Im sure the directors told the prisoners wut to do. Theres no realism in wut MEtallica did. Now with Johnny Cash THE MAN DID AN ENTIRE CONCERT IN PRISON!!!! R.I.P CASH!!!!

  • @Jhart811 Metallica gave a full concert at San Quentin prison, the day after filming the video.

  • Why r people bringing up Metallica? Metallica made a video in prison. Im sure the directors told the prisoners wut to do. Theres no realism in wut Johnny Cash did. THE MAN DID AN ENTIRE CONCERT IN PRISON!!!!

  • if ya wanna see matalica do a show in a prison look it up dont look up johnny u dumb fuck

  • johnny cash legend say otherwise... hunt you down

  • great song. but why put up Juaquin Pheonix instead of Johnny Cash for the picture?

  • While I like that you used Johnny Cash's real singing, I hate that the picture is from the Walk The Line movie, and not his real Folsom Prison Concert.

  • @penguinejb I agree. walk the line is a great movie and all, but you gotta use the real photo

  • no one cares how old you are.

  • Stop with the Mertallica man!!! Have some respect for Johnny Cash!!! You want Met you go to MET'S VIDEOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! b---!

  • How about everybody stops crying about which music is better? It's all opinions.

  • thats not him listen to intscout

  • @ Runefactoryguy.....the black people are all in a segregated prison. Back then, a lot of states wouldn't put blacks & whites together.

  • Funny how there were no black people. All civilized folk.

  • @RuneFactoryGuy Thank you for pointing that out. Until your post I didn't think prisons were filled with black men because of white man's prejudice. It is so obvious how wrong I was.

You don't know the same black men I do. Believe me, white men can be just as uncivilized as black men who can be just as civilized as a white man. Where did you pick up the fantasy that a man isn't capable man is capable of being uncivilized? Time to wake up to the real world.

  • just picked this up on vinyl at a thrift store for two bucks

  • Whaaaaaaaat Can i saey Coooooooool

  • Johnny was a man of great compassion. This gig as well as his show at San Quentin were very special for him, I'm sure. The "Man in Black" is Johnny's manifesto! Canada remembers Johnny Cash!

  • why the pic of Joaquin Phoenix?

  • Comment removed

  • Always been one of my favorites. I would change the lyrics to Morphine today.

  • You say Lady Gaga, I say Lady Antebellum.

You say Jason Derulo, I say Jason Aldean.

    You say T-Pain, I say T-Swift

You say Ke$sha, I say Kenny.

You say Pitbull, I say Paisley.

You say Justin Bieber, I say Justin Moore and go grow a pair.

92% of teenagers have turned to Hip Hop and Pop.If you are part of the 8% that still listen to real music, copy and paste this message to another 3 videos. Stop being a faggot and start listening to real music!!! COUNTRY!!

  • @raizorblade3 i am not going to copy and past this but i agree for the most part.

  • @raizorblade3 I laugh at this comment. What you're listing isn't country. This video(Johnny Cash) is country. Lady Antebellum, Jason Aldean, Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, and Justin Moore are bigger failures than Bieber in that we expected him to suck, all bubblegum pop has in its 30+ years of existance, whereas these clowns fail by leaps and bounds to follow in the footsteps of Cash, Hank Williams, etc. They're nothing but bubblegum with a twang or Nickelback with a twang.

  • @MrCincinnatian I couldn't have said it better myself. Music when music was music. It seem like today's country music is just wanna-be rock stars who failed. Johnny Cash, Jones, Haggard. Now that was real music worth listening to.

  • @MrCincinnatian I think Paisley is country. He is popular but he sings about real life. He sings about suicide after a broken relationship, and things like admiring his stepdad and having a good time. While he sings some silly songs, I think he deserves some credit. Though Johnny Cash is still the best

  • @MrCincinnatian Actually Cash isn't country it's called rockabilly. Aldean, Paisley, and Moore are all country. Lady A..not so much. Taylor swift not at all. If you disagree your wrong.

  • @countryboyschuebel i disagree. you will never find Johnny Cash the rock n roll legend, but you will fin Johnny Cash the country super star. also i disagree with your last statement. You sir are wrong. Music is just there in the air (like pure mother f**king magic) who is to say how one person may categorize it is wrong...except you the all knowing god of music mr right, right with the ONLY opinion that counts.

  • @raizorblade3 It's not real country. Nashville wants you to believe its country cause that's the only way anyone can make money off of it. It's all generic and all cliched and if you hear one, you've heard them all. It's a sad state of affairs in country music. True Country is dead. Nothing screams "Sell-out" today like the Country Music Industry.

  • @MrCincinnatian You mean like how you could hear that delta blues guitarists sold out by being influenced by classical music?

  • @raizorblade3 Oh fuck off you stupid cunt.

  • i am on cocaine right now

  • @daktom22 did you shoot it or snort (or smoke).

  • @daktom22

    mee too dude

  • The fact that he had a concert at a prison makes this man a legend! You couldn't do that today. Who would you send? Justin Bieber? They'd just rape his little ass... on second thought, send him in.

  • @Vixctor13 Why would you want to give him something he wants?

  • @Vixctor13

    BRILLIANT!

  • @Vixctor13 Could'ent agree more...

  • @Vixctor13 umm are you stupid Metallica St anger? stupid 13 year old ...

  • @Nicholosity Not a fan of Metallica and I'm 21.

  • @Vixctor13 Metallica did a concert in prison.

  • @metallica42981 Cool!

  • @Vixctor13 METALLICA IN ST QUENTIN..... so no, youre right they wouldnt send bieber ...hehe put i completely agree with you : the man is a legend

  • @Vixctor13 Well Metallica did a concert in a prison :D You can see it in a clip St.anger :D

  • @Vixctor13 thats exacly wat they would do

  • @Vixctor13 Metallica gave a full concert at San Quentin prison, and they rocK°!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @damageincforo Its differnent it was a different time. HE sand about getting locked up numerous songs metallica doesnt. Metallica used to rock :)

  • Damn This guy the definition of badass.

  • who would dislike this great artist he helped country get big they are just morons they could go rot in hell

  • Metallicakixtotalass- cool quote from Jesus. I think you interpreted it wrong though. If he said "When you visited the prisoner, you visited me" Jesus is saying that he is the prisoner, not the person doing the visiting. Therefore in this situation, Johnny Cash is not Jesus he is visiting Jesus, which make a lot more sense to me...

  • best song ever made

  • Jesus said "When, you visited the prisoner, you visited me." Johnny Cash visited a prison. Therefore, Johnny Cash is Jesus.

  • just heard this for the first time today. killer tune!

  • Couldn't choose a better song for a prison concert.

  • Top quality bud

  • Wa-Hoooo !! Prison Music!!!!!!

  • man i love this guy...and the movie....this guy had alot of guts to play at a prison...

  • R.I.P Johnny.

  • Johnny and Frank sinatra reign as best performers that ever lived.

  • @landonsoccer12 it was speed, but its more or less the same difference.

  • In the movie Walk the Line, when he takes those pills, was it cocaine, or another drug?

  • love that song!

  • Back in the day, good prisoners were rewarded with shows. Not any more. Now theyre all dumb niggers. The only thing they know is hate and punishment.

  • lol when he went to the prision the warren told him not to get the prisoners riled up and to sing gospel songs then he comes out and sings this

  • LOOL i laughed at coronas4 (owner of video) comebacks LOL haha brilliant! great song :)

  • This picture looks like it is from the Walk the Line movie and is Joaquin Phoenix not Johnny Cash

  • and stil the world is the same

  • it is from walk the line but in 68 in folsom the prision did not want him there but had to submit to public presher and told cash fine but they were not doin anything ie fences extra guards he played there and he was just that close eh country legend johnny cash will always live on

  • hahaha like johnny actually was that close to the convicts. shakin hands. nahh. there was a full fence and a row of guards between him and them.

  • daaaaaaaame i cant get enough of this song

  • i love johnny cash u rock

  • Awesome, but why is the video almost 10 mins long?

  • XD wow you never see a famous person singing in a prison now days that woulda been awesome tho :( R.I.P JOHNNY

  • @Monst3rKat Metallica in 2003?

  • tacStar253, you're right, a movie is recognition of the talent but we are here to listen and visualise the real article.... anyway great great song, timeless. that's all I've got to say

  • The Legend of Johnny Cash

  • love this song

  • Back in the days when you didnt have to know how to rap to play at a prison...

  • This is probaby the most badass song from Cash...the line "I can't forget the day I shot that bad bitch down" makes it for me. haha

  • Wish I had seen that really live...

  • LEDGEND

  • the version of the movie is more...mmmmmmmm.......incoplete.

  • "I though i was her daddy but she had five more" epic !!!

  • Do you happen to know if this concert was ever filmed?

  • is that goin to be on the album ? in the back you could hear Johnny say "yeah" and the guard or someone shouts i doubt that - wow thats as cool as it gets RIP Johnny Cash

  • @BatchFileHelper they cut a lot from the film, not sure how much of the song Joaquin did, you can get the full scene on youtube incidentally

  • Grandissimo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • nice asssssssssssssssssssssssssssss song i love the movie

  • Johnny Cash was one of a kind! Too bad their ain't many like him anymore.

  • one word..........LEGEND

  • coronas4, you're such a smart ass.

    viva johnny cash!

  • why isit, even on the live ones, the prisons ppls, always seem like normal folk, frm the streets, if u went there and they wore there own clothes, and no warden, ud just think they normal. R.I.P J.R

  • can we get a picture of johnny cash for the background?

  • @tacStar253

I don´t have the picture, try google:)

  • @coronas4 Thank you so much for making Johnny more accessible for everyone. I must say though, you could have found a pic of Johnny as easy as anyone else. I think you just really liked the movie when you posted this video. Don't mean to call you out but, yeah, come on man! I think the 22 dislikes (at the time of comment) were cause you are showing an impostor for the song. If you put Quaquin's version on here then you could have put his pic and no one would have minded.

  • @coronas4 san aff a vish

  • @tacStar253 well said

  • @tacStar253 It's from Walk the Line.

  • @tacStar253 You motherfucker

  • @coronas4 I dunno why but damn that comment made me laugh like crazy, prob because of the thumbs ups.

So that you can have something to ask for :)

  • @coronas4 LOL

  • @coronas4 you motherfucker

  • yeah for cocaine

  • When I was arrested, I was dressed in black!

  • Lay off that whiskey and let that cocaine be

  • mexicans didnt take over the country they simply do the jobs educated people wont do. i live in la and all they do is stand outside of home depot and wait to be picked up by a white person that will pay them to do the work they wont do. then they go home to their house where all 6 families pay by the person. other than numbers they will never have anything else. they cant even get their own country out of the gutter

  • @matts4420 In Mexico there's White people too. You must be referring to the Indian Mexicans.

  • True mostly. The leaders of Mexico and most of the wealthy are pure bred Spaniards. Notice in many countries such as Brazil, Cuba, etc. most of the people are black or very dark. White people are the rulers though and control the economy. It's not fair, but that's how it is.

  • This was a great movie as a tribute to the one and only Johnny Cash!

  • you gotta respect him for playing at a prison.

  • Epic.

  • thats from the movie

  • stop fukin about round proper music scrap or fuck off

  • be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.

  • love Johnny.... No words can describe .....one of my faves

  • FUCK YOU!!!

  • Besse me roska....probably wrong spelling but I'm sure you FUCKING beaners get it right?

  • Wow!!! You really are that fucking STUPID!!!!

  • Why Yes, Yes I am.

  • So are you here legally or did you swim?

  • No need to swim. I was born here, just like my parents. but if I had to get across, I wouldn't swim. I'd use a ski-doo.

  • Right after you stole it right? LOL

  • Exactly!!! But you'd be the one I stole it from.

  • Question: Why doesn't Mexico have an Olympic team?

Answer: Because all the ones that can swim or run are in America.

  • HaHa, Thats a good one, If icame from mexico, I might be offended. But seeing as how I didn't, I could give two shits. It's cool though, you're just a bitter, uneducated, sour old man, who is pissed off that "MEXICANS", or "Beaners" as you put it. Have the same rights, maybe even more, then shit shoveler's like you. and remember, to continue your calls in English press 1, because spanish is the new language of America. WE TOOK OVER!!!!! Peace Honky.

  • Settle down there Whore Hay, education, or bitterness has nothing to do with anything. I just dont care for your people, they tend to suck our economy dry. They refuse to pay taxes yet they expect everything handed to them for free. I am not saying that you are one of those kind, I'm sure you work at Taco Bell or something right? Pay taxes? Have your own healthcare?

  • Ok Dumbass Look. First of all it's Jorge, not whore Hay. 2nd, I run a shipping dept. for a very successful company, and have never worked @ taco bell, I pay my taxes, and Yes i do have my own healthcare. This is how stupid you are, granted illeagal immigrants drag our economy down. however there are immigrants coming from all over the world"predominately the east. The slur your using insults all people of a latin descent. look it up.

  • Settle down there Lupe, Okay okay, honestly, I am half Mexican and I grew up in Texas. So I guess you could call me a Texican? HA HA HA Areeba Unduhlay RRRRRRRRRRRahhahhah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If you wanna insult, illegal's from mexico that refuse to learn the language, and look for handouts, say "brazerz". I'm proud to be a mexican/american. and my grandfather who was american as they came being a man of the south from tennessee. would not tolerate laziness from anybody, , most of the men on his crew were mexican. Why cause they worked harder than lazyasses like you. and they all got payed the same wages. so choke on that shit you ignorant motherfucker.

  • Well I am tired, I will continue insulting you another day so good night or Felix Navydad...
