Absolutely brilliant album. I'm 58 and I enjoy playing it as loud as the neighbours can tolerate! (They're lovely people). I would appreciate it if anyone has the lyrics to "Meaningless". Thanks - you have good taste in music. bryanrp@hotmail.co.uk
Thanks for posting! Brings up wonderful memories. Weren't there two albums? Think I got both of them, perhaps in the attic. They'll see the light soon!
Well i know this is a late reply - but I love this album. It was a bad time for music - you were at the wrong time I guess. But here it is on youtube and i still enjoy playing especially sands Of Singaopre
I have this record still and I will never let go of it...still as refreshing today as then...First heard it when John Peel played it on his late night show, had to buy it! - going to keep a look out for aint no love in the city
I still have this album though I haven`t listened to it for ages. Came across this by accident and it`s great to hear it again. Nice to see that so many people have excellent taste in music!
Yup, one of these bands that should have gone further. Great album. Did not know they had two out, but this one is in my collection. It's one of these (rare) 11 out of 10 albums.
I've just started a facebook group- Fans of Cafe Jacques. Thought I was the only person on the planet who bought their albums but ggod to see more people appreciative of the music. Feel free to look up on facebook!
Was amazed this band came up on my search! I remember researching for other projects that the members of Genesis were doing around the time that Peter Gabriel left the band, and Phil Collins popped up on this album. Was quite a pleasant surprise! Sounds just as good now as it did then!
Thanks!! Thought I was the only one who loved this band.. Got both albums right after they was released back in those days :-) . One of the most underrated bands in the history of rock!!
Absolutely brilliant. I still have the original album. One of my favourites of all time. It's time the album was released on CD. Incidentally I was the wee drummer who replaced Mike in his former band "Sunny Side Up". I'm still playing and regard "blaxcot" as a massive influence. He was the first drummer that I'd seen playing left handed on a right handed kit. A really cool guy.
I have been looking for this album for 20 years with no luck and here it is on youtube.
Hey Mike, thanks for the great music that you have been a part of and it just seems like the exceptional bands, for the most part, don't make it. This was one.
Thanks so much for posting this. The quality is very good. You have done a great transfer job. I co-wrote, played drums and sang the chorus for this song. One of my favorite Cafe' Jacques songs ever. We were a great band, ahead of our time, lost to punk in the late 70's. Oh well. I then went on to play with Simple Minds and Fiction Factory - adventures in sound. Love to hear from you. Mike Ogletree - Drums/Percussion/Vocals and smiles.
@blaxcot Wow, "the" Mike Ogletree. I'm honored. Cafe Jacques still ranks up there with my personal favorites. I love your sound, very sophisticated. This album goes deep with me. Thank you so much!
thanx for posting.

I worked for a record store in the Cleveland area at this time. The staff and I loved this album, and gave it all the exposure we possibly could.
