  • How about some help with the footswitch set up if you have time. I'll sent you a joint! hahaha just kidding!

  • is this a closed back amp? also does it have good bass response? thnx.

  • @brainstormer9 its open backed but does have pretty good bass response

  • when u run pedals thru the clean channel. like distortion pedals it sounds soo fuckin good. but hte overdrive and high gain suck ass

  • Great amps! I'm torn between getting one of these, or a Line6 Spider 2x12. Their bass amp line was great also! They should consider bringing them back.

  • less reverb, less gain and above all mate less treble(never more than 6/7) use the mid instead for that crisp crunch ur after and for everyone else gash mics are very honest and useful for picking up on a bad sound but this is cos of a bad setting

  • @niertyUK ok dude.. go to my channel look up d3100 metal and listen to what a decent mic sounds like... very simmilar settings to what i had in this video... it was the camera it was a $100 camcorder you couldn't expect alot from it

  • i have the same amp and the reverb and MOD and Delay knobs all stopped workng along with the built in tuner what is wrong!?!?!?!? HELP

  • Sounds like the shape knob is on 10.lol

  • ...halo op music? O.o

  • i got the same amp and she is a fuckin beast!!!!

  • LoL at the ignorant bastards who say this amp sux, I played through a crate head and it looked pittyfull but the sound was something to cream yer pants over... creat are good amps which is why i am investing in this amp next.

  • ozzy ozbourne yeah!

  • dude i have the same one and dude can u rock with this amp awesome dude!

  • It sounded good not the vid but the quality is always crap on yt so I might get 1 soon

  • damn nice what are your settings

  • @DimeZakkSlash Recorded on camera mic might be the reason.

  • i have this one and i dont know how to work it, the channels are all screwed up and the footswitch doesnt click the right channel on. the yellow works fine, but if i want to turn the red one on, i have to turn on red and yellow. blue doesnt do anything, theres no green. how do i work this thing?

  • @psycho826 the red and yellow both have to be pressed for the red to be on you have to unpress both red and yellow for green or just press yellow for yellow the blue switch is for your effects when its on your in the first bank of effects when its off your in the 2nd bank of effects.. so basicly when the blue light is on change your effects to how you want them then when its off turn all the effects knobs off and every time you click the blue button your effects will turn on

  • @sniperking1990 oh my god, thank you sooo much. thats so helpful. thanx man. you explained it better than that little manual it comes with lol

anything else i could know about it?

  • Comment removed

  • @sniperking1990 also, i scrolled down and ran across another problem i was having. i had it plugged into a power strip.

the tuner keeps popping really loudly, any idea what that could be?

  • @psycho826 Hmm the tuner shouldnt be making a sound.....mine is silent. Umm the only thing I could think of would be a bad connection between the board and leds

  • @StainedValentineBand yeai already sent it in to be traded for another. hopefully this one works better. thanx :D

  • @StainedValentineBand Why do you write hmm and umm? It's bad when you're talking and you have the power to get rid of it when you're writing.

  • @wtw88 Dude its not involentary......I put that in there as a way to signal a pause for thinking....

  • These flexwave amps are horrid Beware!!!

  • OMG how much was it??!?!

  • i played out of this amp today and i was sorely disappointed, it cant really sound good with anything but metal. i personally liked the sound of the crate V series 50 i used, it was a lot nicer. if your considering this amp play it in person, through a guitar as close to your own as you can get at the shop. i mean yeah its a decent amp, but theres better out there, you can get tubes for the price of this

  • hey man i got the same amp and i has this wierd echo effect on even though the effects and delay r off even the gain has it too do u know wats wrong

  • hey man i got that same amp and for some reason mine has some echo effect even wen the effects are off and the delay is too. the destortion sounds terrible with the effect on it too. like i said its like a echo sound. do u know wats wrong?

  • @Tyler21593 mine will do that also. usually ill turn my delay to the max then back to zero and it will go away.

  • errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • im gonna have this (i al ready own it) and use the exit speaker on the back nd plug it into a ibanez cab and 2 extra ibanez stacks when i get it.... wonder how loud its gonna be

  • What was the first song he was playing? i know it from something ;P

  • @Jiswido the very first thing im playing was made up totaly off the top of my head the song right after that was crazytrain.

  • @sniperking1990

Aah okay (: thanks mate ^^ nice playin (:

  • in this video, no offense, but the amp sounds like crap. its probly the camera. but does it sounds awesome in person? my friend wants to get on and i wanna make sure he is getting a good amp.

  • very nice man.. yeah people dont realize that it depends on the speakers they have on their computer and the way it is recorded through but i think it sounds awesome even through my 2 dollar headphones lol.. nice playing ..

  • crate amps are the fuckin worse things to buy

  • waw ur good

i might be getting the 60 from my friend for £130

  • This amp is quite cool, i heard it one. nice sound! but, do you have any live experience with it? Can I turn up the volume loud enought for a liveshow with like 400 peoples?

  • @dltc5 most definatley yes... VERY LOUD!

  • This amp sound great! does it take pedals well? and good randy solo but it was just a little too fast, but it sound good.

  • @TheSchafer78 tu plaisante? c'est trop naaaaze merde ! je préfère encore de loin le son du Spider III de Line6 (pourtant c'est un des pires amplis que j'ai essayer !!!!)

  • youtube is not the epitome of sound quality display.

    it compresses sound. -_-

  • our school has a couple of these there great

  • wow, that sounds fucking terrible. what a shitty amp

  • @phred754 dont judge the amp by the sound of a 50$ camera mic its not true..idont understand why people complain so much listen to the amp in real life before you say anything

  • Exactly. I love this amp.

  • @sniperking1990 dude i have the same, i use it live all the fucking time! has a really ballsy sound, manly shit right there =P

but sereously, really nice heavy distortion

  • @sniperking1990 then y bother??????

  • @sniperking1990 Dude I know....Ive had my amp for.......9 months now? This thing is AMAZING. Whoops everything in my opinion except tubes and marshalls

  • @phred754

    shut a fuck up.

is very good and cheap AMP

  • @phred754 Hey man does the guy's voice sound shitty too? Maybe??? a very ordinary microphone.

  • right on! i just bought me an older style one..love the extra pitch harmo. in crazy train. schweeet!

  • how much do these run for

  • Nice. I have the full stack. It's an awesome amp

  • i have this amp and i had to have it replaced twice cause the over drive kept on gummin out while i play

  • Is this amp loud enough to be onstage and unmiked? For small to medium sized gigs?

  • @rocker2595

this amp is more than capable

  • doesnt a crate amp have alot of distortion? mean like is it good for metal and can get heavy sounds like slayer and metallica? plz reply

  • yea man i got one its what i do all my covers on... honestly ive played lots of solid state amps and i personally think this is the best one and you do get killer distirtion... very heavy for sold state.. great metalica

  • do you have reverb on? i'm checkin this out it's between this or a line 6

  • yes its on but i cant remeber how much its on ...

  • it sounds like that because its a recording, in person this would sound way better

  • Sounds like asshole ( in a bad way )

  • yeah. sounds like a fuckin toy

  • i just brought a Crate Vintage 120 RFX on ebay , cant wait till it comes in

  • dude you sound like buttpee

  • damn, sounds fucking awesome, good playing to

  • Do you think the 65 watt version work in a gig ???

  • Yeah they will

  • @panicbow14 I played a 50 watt Marshall with a 10" speaker to a HS gymnasium. It did OK. Was at "9"

  • aah i got that amp they're sick!

  • Okay- Had to mute halfway thru the video.. No prob, heard worse before. Player has a mute problem, learn how to press down with your playing hand palm to mute your string when playing metal kinda stuff.. Crates are good, Line 6's are good. I've toned in both. Crates have 'fuzzy' distortion, Line 6's, their clean channel sucks my ass, but hey, They rock mostly for the price! Any negative stuff-post it, it's all opinion, and we know what opinions are like!!!

  • I really don't like the sound of this amp. Maybe it would sound better in person, idk. Just seems harsh, mids are just not present, high frequencies are a bit overpowering. Just my opinion, I guess. And line6 is far from being shit, you just have to know how to use the stuff.

  • the mids were probably scooped out with the shape knob there is alot you can do with the amp once it is learned i only had this amp a few weeks when i posted the video and i bet the mids were low to nothing

  • Oh ya Im sure. I know it took me a while to get a sound I liked with my current gear. Just have to mess with it and tweak away!

  • no dumbass you cant. cuz with line6 it sounds all fucked up cuz the pre-sets. line6 is shit. crate is the best metal amp (notice how no one uses line6)

  • is that so, you might want to talk to Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath.....or how about Trent Reznor of NIN....go ahead and check out the artist list on line 6's website...just because you cant figure out how to use the amps doesn't mean its shit. I believe quite the opposite. I had a flextone II for 4 years and I could dial up any tone/amp/cab/effects i wanted

learn how to use it before you knock it

  • All your vids are sick, post a dethklok cover

  • CRATE amps are suck.....

    i don't like them all

wheatever it is made in usa!

  • what kinda guitar r u using

  • this was a while ago but i was using a 1989 westone corsair gt kinda a weird but very popular old brand of guitars

  • I own a crate flexwave 65 watt, Crates are very good build and very reliable.

  • Hey can you like buy a pedal you want and plug it in and it will work? I wanted to know if it does

  • it should, i havnt tried but the plug inserts in the back are meant to be there for a reason, if you have a owners manual check it out, it might say something

  • Crazy Train :P tho i think u may have to much distortion there lol

  • How did this cost?

  • this company divided into blackheart amps didnt they?

  • crates are jizztastic amps

  • line 6 sucks dick. you cant hook any pedals up to them that arent line 6. and the line 6 pedals are like $500.

  • what are you talking about? it doesnt matter that you can't hook up effects to them, it has good enough effects on it already. what makes it work better with line 6 pedals than others? nothing, you dont know what you're talking about

  • but when you are playing a song its a pain in the ass to switch the effects by hand and it messes you up. i know what im talking about dipshit.

  • dude no there not, more like $120

  • line 6's arent that great , compaire to a marshall, vox, mesa, or crate, but a line 6 is kinda like the "jack of all trades" allot of various tones, but nothing over the top.

  • line 6 are wayyyyyyy underated

  • you can hook any pedal you want up to any amp...

  • haha ive played 1 before

    and ur camera just sucks!

  • i had a flexwave, it was garbage, then i got a 120 watt line 6 which owns, not a fan of crate, but the playin was good

  • Typical transistor-amp sound.

    I don't like it.

  • it dosnt really sound like that i didnt have a good mic in my camera at the time... it does sound alot better than that actualy...

  • Fizzy, fuzzy, buzzy. Not a really good tone. The playing was good though.

  • i really hope that its your camera, because otherwise that sounds like shit

  • it is the camera trust me because that camera never picked up any low end at all check out my new video heavy metal happy birthday to get an idea of the real sound...

  • Listen to Sniperking, I just bought the amp, and it is *amazing*.

  • this amp sounds like major CRAPOLA! A fuzzy mess. A big muff pedal gone WAY bad.

  • I don't own a crate, I play it at my friends house when I bring my guitar over. Did you get the cheap old ones? they aren't that great. But the halfstack is a big difference and that's what my friends has. And I think you just offended my friend for saying that crates are for people who don't know what a good amp sounds like. I never said anything about people who use line 6's...

  • Im glad you don't. I only recommended Line 6 if your on a budget. If your not, Go with a good solid tube amp. (Bogner,Engl,Madison,Peavey, ect) I owned a blew voodoo head and it blew on me within the week that I owned it. It was brand new and the piece of crap didn't last even 2 weeks with me and I ALWAYS take good care of my gear. it was just a piece of crap. Crates are for people that cannot afford good amps. Plain and simple. Just telling the truth.

  • Heard of Krank amps?

  • It isn't "way too digital" as you put it. Line 6 takes the sounds directly from the tube amps in there tone labs. Know what your talking about in your next post.

  • XD Your funny guy. Line 6 drains all the tone and their TUBE amps even sound digital. My dads been playing crate amps for OVER 20 years and they sound amazing. My friends Line 6(he just got it half a year ago) just broke and i was told by a guitar center employee that the motherboards fry all the time. I have an 120 crate half stack and a 40 watt combo amp. The 40 watt is over 20 years old and it still sounds amazing. You don't have a clue what your talking about.

  • I do have a clue on what im talking about. I just don't agree with you. Crate amps suck. thats my opinion. I can have mine and you can have yours.

  • Just because your dad has been using crate amps for over 20 years means nothing to me or anyone. That means nothing. Crate amps still suck. How many pre amps is he running to make it sound good? A dozen? Plus a power brake? I do have a clue, you just don't want to hear someone else's opinion. That's your problem not mine.

  • dude, Line 6 has a computer in it which drains your guitar tone. Meaning it's more difficult to tell the tonal difference between two guitars. And so far Line 6 has been having a bad reputation which I didn't really expect. I don't think crate is THEE worst though, there are others out there to be shunned

  • I disagree. You name one other amp company besides Crate to be the worst amp company out there. Name one! Even Behringer amps blow crate out of the water. B52's are even better than crates. Crate has a horrible reputation. What are you talking about?

  • Actually the Crate v30 is pretty good, but then again it's a tube amp.

  • took ur advise am getttin the 120 watt version so i can be just like you(Y)

are they worthe money man cause ive seen marshall etcx. . for the same price ??

  • never get cheap marshalls. And they are expensive because of their brand name. So if you want a good Marshal, you should buy the top ones. But I think crate will be your best deal.

  • hi joseph!

I was veiwing this video and I saw your comments!!1 xD

  • yo man am gettin the 65watt version would it be ok for a FIRST band cause you can plug it into a cab cant you??

  • well if your looking at your first band the 65 watt version may not have quite enough get up and go to get over the drums without distorting. however if you even think about the 212 version dont buy it get the peavy winsdor. its a 100 watt all tube half stack for 399$ on musicians friend

  • try to watch my crate gtx65... tY..

  • nice amp bro dam ima get a new one soon yo!!

  • i got bogner alchemist 212 ahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Comment removed

  • like ive told everyone else it was the cameras mic that makes it sound bad... dont judge anything before you try it

  • lol... is that i lyon in the background??? i have one of those hehe. and a paul reid smith!!! WOOHOO i got it yesterday, im so excited!!!

  • nah thats my squire strat in the backround not a bad guitar but not the best either

  • Comment removed

  • then dont.... im not forcing you to listen to it but im just saying go to your local music store and try it. it actualy sound sgood in person. Sure you can get a better amp than this but not as loud and for the same price

  • Yea theres a footswitch with it and actualy its pretty cool because you can switch be tween 2 banks on each channel so you can set 2 different effects per channel witch is nice

  • im between the flexwave 65 or the marshall mgdfx30. Can you make this amp sound like a marshall?

  • have you decided yet on the amp?

  • which is better halfstack or this

  • depends if you want a lower end sound and a little bit louder go for the halfstack if you you dont need a huge gig sound go with this it still pumps out some volume

  • sounds like NOISE NOISE. not impressed ,sorry!

  • When you use overdrive/distortion, do you have the blue light activated too?

  • the blue light swtiches from 2 effect banks , you can stroe 2 presents in each of the amp's 3 channels.

  • where u using any pedals for this?

  • Just amazing,

    enough said really.

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • dude ur playing crazy train

  • wow nobel price for u

  • Tube is overrated and antiquated solid state sounds way better and heavier by far. I love how people are hung up on price and rep but it's all about sound and style, equipment is second to talent.

  • this amp isnt a bad amp i have the flex wave half stack, its GREAT for gigs, i perfer a tube amp but this is just as good for the price

  • how loud is it at 100% volume???I have a 10 watt and I can't take it to 100% in my room how loud is yours?

Btw good job on Crazy Train!

  • well lets just say with mine with my windows open i cant take it to 100% on my block....

  • do you know how many decibels it is?

  • Panthrfan, I have the same problem. I have a practice amp that's 30 watts. And at about 2/10 ways up it's too loud. But when you're in a garage or on stage, it's not loud enough.

  • i found this amp at $150 new, bargain! i've got a Marshall JCM 2555SL beautiful tube head, everyones going on about tube being better than solid state but i tell u, i'm going using this amp for majority of gigs, this amp is going be so much easier to maintain and move around!

  • yeah. im thinkin it is a shit cam. one thing about the amp. on the hi gain channel, is there a 3 band eq? how does it work? i read there wasn't. thanks in advance. Keep rockin dude. that was a great demo and you got great chops!

  • sounds as tho alot of people are giving you shit about how tube amps are better. but for a quarter of the price, it sounded pretty good.

    good playing man

  • its probably just his camera

  • yes it is just my camera seriously im gonna have to get something set up to record better sound so everyone can really hear this thing scream

  • I think it sounds great, I tried one of these out a while ago. That crappy sound is from the microphone.

Besides you gotta try an amp in person, not look at reviews online.

  • Quite crappy.

  • shit sound, at least, turn of the reverb

  • That was pretty muddy.

  • how many times do i have to tell you people its not how it really sounds its just in the general area my camera has a pinhole mic not a condenser micraphone...

  • Sounds Crrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrate!!

  • that tone was assy

  • not so bad but...get a all tube amp!!!

  • I think the crappy sounds are more on the part of the camera...

  • finnaly someone who understands a pinhole size micraphone cant record pro quality audio (applause all around)

  • +100

  • nice solo

  • Sounds like shit fucker. The store you bought this at seen you coming.

  • can you post a video of you playing slipknot that would be asweome thanks!

  • terrible tone tbh, turn down the gain a ton.

  • dude.... the gain is really not a factor on the "HIGH GAIN" channel if you turn it down it sounds virtualy the same at high volumes..

  • I just bought the 1 x 12 crate fw65 and it fucking kills, it cost me 315 $ and have a very good garanty.

  • ok now think of that about 30 decibles louder! and you have the 2x12 version

  • Sounds like a bunch of angry bees to me. Your playing is great, But Crate amps still lack the true tube sound that tube amps deliver..I guess crate still uses printed circuits rather than point to point wiring. Your amp sounds great on the clean channel. I know your amp is a tube amp but lacks the density of a tube sound do to the printed circuit boards.

  • this is a solid state amp, not a tube amp.

  • sounds kickass

  • turn down the reverb alway, and the delay, buy an equalizer, switch your guitar back into tremolo, out of rythm, turn down the bass, and make it sound actually good, and if you`re gonna play crazy train, learn how to bend a note

  • you people will never understand i didnt pay this perfectly because i was just showing what the amp sounded like and how much sustain it had quit taking this video so seriously thinking this is how i always play

  • dude kynman123 you sound like a complete douchebag
