Yes, the OU defense giving up over 400 yds is humiliating. But I guess TT giving up 400 yds to a team with a backup QB is acceptable - even viewed as "dominating" by TT fans. And that demonstrates the difference between the two programs - why one plays for championships, and the other is content with the occasional upset.

Nope, you're right. TT played a great game and deserved to win. Congrats. I still think that was a TD in the back of the endzone. As soon as the WRs second foot touched out of bounds, the play is over. What the DB did after that is and should have been disregarded. I just would have liked to have seen how it would have ended. TT probably still wins...but we'll never know because the refs rushed the review IMO.

Bradford should be the backup. We have had some off-field QB issues over the past couple of years. Ideally, this would have been a team lead by senior QB Bomar, but he had to be a dumb ass. Which is it? I don't know, judging from the responses of TT fans here, we suck, so you didn't beat a very good team. I don't think that...I think Tech is a very good offensive football team, who played OU on a night when we were not at our best on the offensive side of the ball.
As third-party observer, I've gotta say that this game was dominated by Tech. If they really wanted to, they would have scored 50. With that said, they tried to put the brakes on and work the clock in the 4th, but unfortunately they arent very good at it and it almost backfired. The numbers look close thanks to the last 5 minutes of the game.
I like the comment on the Tech OU game. I agree that we could have scored fifty but naturally Leach decides to be "nice" and run the clock out and I hate that. We suck at it and we shouldn't do it. The past couple of years against OU we have done it. Three years ago we did it against OU and they tied us. So Henderson had to score a game-winning TD.
I have seen that play 30 different times. IMHO - with 90% certainty - he scored. Certainly shouldn't have been overruled. The play OU should complain about is the Amendola 4th down catch ... probably 2 feet behind the 1st down mark.
I read some of your comments on the tech-Ou and the one about us beating OU only because of a bad night is completly wrong. They didn't have a bad night. If you watch the vid that YOU made you will see that our defense made it bad for them. And for the domination thing. If I recall, it was 27-7 when Leach started running the clock out. That was when OU started stopping us and they got more possesions to score on. So I say that is domination.
It's all perspective I guess. Having a QB who has never taken a meaningful snap all of a sudden having to finish the game...hum, I'd say OU wasn't at their best that night. And as I recall, it was at 27-7 when Halzle finally got comfortable and began completing some passes. Congrats on the win, looks like next years game could determine the south.

The receiver has to maintain control of the football all the way to the ground which he clearly did not do. Jamar Wall ripped it from his hands as he was coming down. That's why it was correctly ruled incomplete.
How they didn't give OU a TD on that play in the back of the endzone still escapes me. The defender took the ball after the play was over. Should have been a 7 point game with 5-6 minutes to play.

Actually by any measure the game was indeed as close as the score indicates:
Total yards: TT-473, OU-408
Yards per pass: TT-6.7, OU-6.7
Yards per rush: TT-3.1, OU-3.1
Yes, the OU defense giving up over 400 yds is humiliating. But I guess TT giving up 400 yds to a team with a backup QB is acceptable - even viewed as "dominating" by TT fans. And that demonstrates the difference between the two programs - why one plays for championships, and the other is content with the occasional upset.

well actually you had only about 112 yards in the first half and zero offensive touchdowns in the first 3 quarters, so the game was not that close at all.

Yeah, we were attempting to run out the clock, genius. If we tried to run up the score, we could have put up 50+, but then everyone would be calling us classless clowns for beating up on poor OU.

thats a joke right... tech only scored off of turnovers... other than that the defense shut tech down in the 2nd half... and now yall weren't attempting to run down the clock when we were down 24... harrell was still passing and running for his life in the 4th quarter... and tech was still playing defense... you're a genius...

Nope, you're right. TT played a great game and deserved to win. Congrats. I still think that was a TD in the back of the endzone. As soon as the WRs second foot touched out of bounds, the play is over. What the DB did after that is and should have been disregarded. I just would have liked to have seen how it would have ended. TT probably still wins...but we'll never know because the refs rushed the review IMO.

considering bradford is a freshman, there's not much to worry about. Nichol is young, and plenty of talent is coming in...Bob Stoops can recruit - just in case you noticed. So I guess any win is "domination" to a Tech fan. Maybe one day you'll become more than a second rate program, but I doubt it. When was the last conference championship for Tech?? I believe it was a no-longer existing conference championship before you were born.

Yes, on that night OU definitely sucked - that's the only way TT would beat OU. I must correct you that a 7 point win over a team with a backup QB does not equal domination. Just be aware of which team still has an opportunity to win the big 12, and which has been eliminated.

Unlike OU, Tech's backup would have BEAT OU that night. Why can't a "championship" OU team field a decent backup? Which is it? Is Tech a good team or are you guys just not as good as you think?

Bradford should be the backup. We have had some off-field QB issues over the past couple of years. Ideally, this would have been a team lead by senior QB Bomar, but he had to be a dumb ass. Which is it? I don't know, judging from the responses of TT fans here, we suck, so you didn't beat a very good team. I don't think that...I think Tech is a very good offensive football team, who played OU on a night when we were not at our best on the offensive side of the ball.

As third-party observer, I've gotta say that this game was dominated by Tech. If they really wanted to, they would have scored 50. With that said, they tried to put the brakes on and work the clock in the 4th, but unfortunately they arent very good at it and it almost backfired. The numbers look close thanks to the last 5 minutes of the game.

I like the comment on the Tech OU game. I agree that we could have scored fifty but naturally Leach decides to be "nice" and run the clock out and I hate that. We suck at it and we shouldn't do it. The past couple of years against OU we have done it. Three years ago we did it against OU and they tied us. So Henderson had to score a game-winning TD.

I have seen that play 30 different times. IMHO - with 90% certainty - he scored. Certainly shouldn't have been overruled. The play OU should complain about is the Amendola 4th down catch ... probably 2 feet behind the 1st down mark.

I read some of your comments on the tech-Ou and the one about us beating OU only because of a bad night is completly wrong. They didn't have a bad night. If you watch the vid that YOU made you will see that our defense made it bad for them. And for the domination thing. If I recall, it was 27-7 when Leach started running the clock out. That was when OU started stopping us and they got more possesions to score on. So I say that is domination.

It's all perspective I guess. Having a QB who has never taken a meaningful snap all of a sudden having to finish the game...hum, I'd say OU wasn't at their best that night. And as I recall, it was at 27-7 when Halzle finally got comfortable and began completing some passes. Congrats on the win, looks like next years game could determine the south.

The receiver has to maintain control of the football all the way to the ground which he clearly did not do. Jamar Wall ripped it from his hands as he was coming down. That's why it was correctly ruled incomplete.

Every year the refs find a way to screw up our season...or a key player gets injured in a critical game.
And that catch (Manuel Johnson's) in the corner of the endzone would have changed the outcome of the game and was for sure a TD.

How they didn't give OU a TD on that play in the back of the endzone still escapes me. The defender took the ball after the play was over. Should have been a 7 point game with 5-6 minutes to play.

Painful to watch as I am a Sooner Alumni and Fan. I have to say Texas Tech did a good job and unfortunately OU just wasn't ready for the probability of losing Bradford to an injuring.
