  • prince was just being a badass dealer

see when he couldn't call himself prince he changed his name to something that couldn't be pronounced so others would continue calling him prince

way to win from losing prince

  • Thank you for the lovely lesson my dearest most favorite teacher.

  • Comment removed

  • DURA

  • whatd she say? my dear whats?

  • stjödents

  • @ $

  • Good video, hot for teacher!

  • The top line of every typewriter keyboard is loaded with symbols for words: a piece, at, number, dollar, percent, look at the bottom of this page.

  • I have a severe case of blue balls and wayching hot for words always exacerbates the symptoms.

Must be time to wax the weasel (again).

  • Boo! You're stupid & rude.

  • i'm an asshole, but i'm a fucking genius

  • Well, at least you're half right. 8P

  • @ ..

  • OMG

    hotforwords and no boobs

    whats wrong with the world

  • Armake21 A.K.A. BoxedEntertainment21 was definitely right about YouTube partners...

  • $, @, #, %

  • Marina Orlova - how about feeler orlova

  • right on

  • WOW! The word et was shortened by 50%.... amazing. Cicero must have been a real bugger for efficiency.... I expect that eliminated an enormous number of writers cramps.

  • WHERE AREE U FROM???

  • She's Russian (her real name is Marina Orlova).

  • damn budget cuts

  • ok, how did the names for hands (right & left) come about?

  • this is a good question. answer this one.

  • yeah this really is a good question

  • thank! but i dont think she really reads any of these comment, this one been here for 9 months. lol. oh! i never thought of it before, but maybe she is pregnant... or maybe she just does not know the answer...

  • @=at

  • how about this:@

  • This is actually something I figured out by myself when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade. ^^

  • Yo,

    Check poti1972

  • rate you the highest level there is imaginable

  • Love It !!!

I too would like to know about @.com

  • intelligence is sexy.....hmmmm...I dont think its your brain people want to fuck :)

  • Ah, but since no-one can have sex 24/7, you *will* end up talking to people, and intelligent people are generally more interesting to talk to.

True, intelligent isn't always the same as educated, but it does tend to help. ;)

  • Personall I would love to find out what exactly this " ^ " Symbol means.

  • 0:23 dannnnng hot

  • I love words

  • i probly would of mad e alot better grades in school if she was my teacher lol

  • % = percent/procent

    = equals/is

    man i love her lessons

    sorry for the double entendre.

  • It does not make sense to come up with a symbol to shorten a 2 letter word, et. I think its more likely that the symbol happened to look like & by accident rather than design.

If they did hit upon the idea to use symbols to shorten words, I am sure they would have chosen words with more than 2 letters.

  • well, it looks to me like he wrote et with the letters so close togewther that it'd be one character almost. It kinda makes sense that you'd naturally do that if you were frequently writing the same word.

What gets me is that it takes five additional letters to spell ampers-and. :D

  • œ ∑ ß Ω ç ∫ ƒ † ¥ π ø € £ ¢ ∞ §

    Somthing like this?

  • sorry i already finished give me a 2 minute break

  • thank you my teacher.

  • besides being a bit more educated, what really is the purpose in finding out exactly where all of these words came from? Does it really help out humanity in anyway? If it was so important would we really forget all about it? Perhaps. These are not words of criticism, only thoughts.

If you really are a philologist, and you're reaping profits on this idea that sex sells. I commend you.

  • @ what is the origin for the @ sign

  • the @ sign mean "at"

  • i know what it means i asked for the ORIGIN( begining, start ect...

  • Say - did I just see a kangaroo hop by there?

  • & you are great! I would like to see more of &!

  • every montage on every show ever should just be that montage of hot pictures of you lying around in bikinis and then the world going past. except the world part is optional.

  • yeah, teach us about @. We have lots of words for it in Norwegian, but none fits with the English 'at'. Snabel-a (means A with an elephant trunk), krøllalfa (alpha with a twist/curl), th@'s all I could think of...

  • privetik

  • are your boobs real? or you had a boob job? and what is the origin of the word

    'boob'?

  • lol

  • @ = at

  • $=dollars %=percent ==equals -=minus +=plus

  • i realize that,

    but nobody talks that way,

    everybody say's

    "no thanks"

    in one breath w/o pause.

  • Can you talk about the schwa?!?!?! That crazy upside down "e" cracks me up every time!

  • %&@#

  • how about the sun signs (star signs)

  • Marina you look like you have a lot of fun making these videos, girl, you will always get "flamers" no matter what you say or do in public or on the net, so please keep up the good work.

Oh and more more thing, when you make it to the big time, don't let them change you.

  • what song is in the beginning its awesome!

  • Some 'puter geeks call the & a pretzel. Don't know why, since ampersand isn't that hard to say (or is it?) They also call the ! a bang, which is way easier to say than "exclamation point"! The # is *not* an octothorp, as some claim. That was a just a joke. It's called a "number sign" or "pound sign" depending on how it's used. The ~ was originally a squished N, and it's called a "tilde" (altho some 'puter geeks call it a squiggle), but I don't know why it's called that.

  • # means number give me urs and I'll give u a call.

  • I have a question Miss Hot for words. The Peace Symble.. why is it a sign of peace? the two finger hand gesture, and the circle with the lines lol.. im sure you've seen it your pretty smart. :P

  • The peace symbol is actually an interpretive symbol that combines graphic representations of semaphore for the letters "N" and "D" - for Nuclear Disarmament.

Google "peace symbol" for a ton of info.

  • ok Thanks Bro,, but its not quite as hot when u tell me.. :P

  • @ was I thought to mean approximately, but now that we have pc's, it means at

  • @, $

  • at+@

  • | (pipe sign) means the word "or" . in my mind and in my heart, you will always be the one and only "MARINA". muah luv u

  • Prince's symbol did so have a name. It was "self-absorbed dickwad". Maybe you should use it honey.

  • Give her a break, at least there's some content and someone might learn something (I did). Christ, go watch 99% of the rest of YouTube (terrible fandubs, pirated episodes of Pokemon/Dragonball/generic japanese cartoon, bumfights knock-offs) or any of LurkerBunny's screamingly dreadful crap and after about 20 seconds you'll be screaming for Miss Dictionary-with-tits here! :-p

  • Yeah, you're right. YouTube has a lot of vapid content so why does some self-absorbed chick with an annoying accent and implants have to add to it? Because she a narcissist, that's why. So go take your handle and apply it to yourself.

  • I'd rather apply it to you my darling, as your self-righteousness gets up my nose at least as much as Miss Thang's constant use of her portfolio to keep the fratboys watching (her vids are basically just Sesame Street with boobs). As for the annoying accent, well how dare people from other countries speak differently! It's tantamount to communism. You go right ahead and do a post of yourself speaking Russian and I'm certain your pronunciation will be immaculate. Can't say fairer than that.

  • Hey not I'm saying you're wrong, but her accent is still fuckin annoying. But not any more annoying than your defense of this wordy bimbo. Whadayathink, Natasia here is gonna give you some of her stroganoff?

  • A little heavy on the sterotyping there, but I see where you're at. Any defense of HFW stems from there being some content by way of mitigation of the "look at me" aspect. Face it, she could just vlog in her undies and millions would watch, & probably pay. This at least pretends to some educational end & with levels of literacy as bad as they are, every inch counts. Narcissism? Maybe, but it's at least playful, which beats the dead-eyed Paris Hilton kind anyday. No worse than being in a band ;-)

  • Well said.

  • I like it better when people with boobs say it to me in a sexy accent.

  • Uhhh... theres like, 10 of them on your keyboard...

  • Like i said before, it wouldn't matter if you actually put clothes on lol. And i guess you are doing serious words... heh, ignorant me. i prefer a boring dictionary.
