I remember the party used to do this as an encore song at the beer barns in Australia in the early 80s, this band used to whip ppl into a frenzy of violence and drunken brawls, Ah those were the days when it was dangerous to go to gigs. Also their version of this song off the Peel sessions is a devastatingly awesome powerhouse of a version. When Iggy heard for the first time he said "i gladly hand the crown of king of punk to the Party" he was blown away by the cover
They were able to capture that really raw, loud part of the Fun House album very well on this. I love that he ends on the same scream that starts off "T.V. Eye" too.
One young girl near commented they all have hair. Be that as it may, the youth of today could not parlay their way to such ennui as allows one to say the miasma of the now is for the bloody cows and sows, as once did The Birthday Party.
@AntipodeanAl yeah thats a great version. The CD Birthday Party Live 81-82 which includes the Drunk On The Popes Blood tracks plus more live ones from the same gig sadly omits the track 'Loose'.
This is HARDCORE!!!!!!!!!!!

Truly the worst band I ever saw. And I have seen some dreadful bands.
Strange because Nick Cave is pretty much a genius. Oh well.

@RamonesKaraoke Why the worst? It's weird cause tons of people mention going to their shows and saying it was a once-in-a-lifetime amazing experience!
By the way Rowland s Howard and Tracy Pew are as much musical geniuses as Nick Cave.

@Rankmoistmeat Nick Cave is not even close to being a "musical genius." A lyrical genius, maybe, but not a musical genius.
