And it wouldn't be very long before the new MGE graphic makes its first appearance. In fact, that new graphic first appeared I believe on February 8, 1993(Game #1946) while WOF was still using the old MGE logo and for WOF, the new MGE graphic didn't start for them until no earlier than March 15, 1993.
that drumroll with the jeopardy card kind of sounds like something is really big and i mean really big is comin and you better get the fuck in your vehicle anfd fuckin drive off before the big thing kills you lol lol
Well just because you haven't seen the 1993 episodes of it before, but I know it's different, but it can be shown on Veoh what JackBauer uploaded with Ed Schiffer.
Yeah no kidding, I can only remember watching the 1994-1996 episodes back when I was 2-4 years old with my grandpa, boy good ol' memories. But I started to remember seeing Tom Lakeman on J! thanks to Namekal for refreshing my memory!
I'm not sure. I remember seeing it for the first time in 1985. I just barely remember the "Jeopardy!" logo being in white neons. I remember the yellow ones much better. I also remember Alex using a handheld microphone to talk when he wasn't at his lectern.
I lived in Omaha, NE, then. Both "Jeopardy!" and "Wheel of Fortune" were on KMTV 3 there.
I now watch them both on KHQ (Q6) in Spokane. "Jeopardy!" at 7:00, "Wheel" at 7:30.
By the way, here's how I think it should have gone:
On "Jeopardy!":
This is Johnny Gilbert speaking. (title card and copyright appear as turn-page effect) "Jeopardy!" is a production of Merv Griffin Enterprises (said over MGE logo as theme fades out, Griffin bird blinks with ding SFX) Distributed by KingWorld. (said over KingWorld logo and fanfare)
(title card and copyright appear as turn-page effect, drumroll starts) "Wheel of Fortune" is produced by (over MGE logo, drumroll finishes) Merv Griffin Enterprises (Griffin bird blinks with ding SFX) Distributed by KingWorld. (said over KingWorld logo and fanfare)
For instance, on Jeopardy!, Johnny introduces himself. (This is Johnny Gilbert speaking...) However, on Wheel, Charlie does not.
On Jeopardy!, the Merv Griffin Enterprises logo just pops up on screen. On Wheel, it comes on screen as a turn-page effect.
On Jeopardy!, Johnny says "Jeopardy! is A PRODUCTION OF Merv Griffin Enterprises." On Wheel, Charlie says "Wheel of Fortune is PRODUCED BY Merv Griffin Enterprises."
On Jeopardy!, Johnny says "And is distributed by KingWorld." with the logo seen in its entirety with the words KING and WORLD coming onscreen and the lines under it from the sides. On Wheel, Charlie just says "Distributed by KingWorld." with only half the logo seen on screen with just the lines under KINGWORLD appear from the sides and the star under the W in WORLD appearing and disappearing.
On Jeopardy!, the title card is not enframed. On Wheel, it is.
This episode must be sometime between January 1st, 1993 and April 1st, 1993, and I'll tell you why- The 1992 variant of the 1983 Merv Griffin Enterprises logo(Seen at 1:24) was used until April 1st, 1993 when they created the next logo which looked like CPT and Tristar TV's logos from 1992, since MGE was a part of Sony as well. Also, this was from the 1992-1993 season because the announcement for the sitcom "Out All Night"(NBC, 1992-1993, heard at 1:20), and it was only on for that season.
@floridapanthersroar January 28, 1993 as I can tell by the voiceover in this video. So it's Game #1939 and it's also Day 4 of Diane Siegel's run based on the UTOC page of Diane Seigel.
Oh, okay, i'm sorry about that. The comment says that it was made 2 hours ago, and the same day i made the other comment, i had seen the same comment you posted as well so, once again, my apologies.
Thats fine, I was talking to lonestardiamond because he perhaps didn't pay attention at my description, so he did asked me if I have the whole episode of this clip, but I don't. Though I replied 'did you read the subscription?' by mistake, so I deleted my comment & said the samthing, only with description.
Forget Sue Anne Nevins... "Jeopardy!" is the real happy homemaker around here!

Putting the title card and copyright between the two logos was kind of awkward.

1994-1996? Gosh, I was 10-11-12 then. Born in 1984.

Seriously? Wow, I was born in '91 on a sunday of December 1st, so I was lucky when the grid set was still there! When you first see J! back then?

Wow no kidding, I lived in Chicago back then too, though I started seeing Jeopardy! & Wheel of Fortune every weekday after News Primetime on ABC 7.

"It" being the outro.

That's a good question. How did they do this? I'm not taking a shot at you, but I'm just asking.
samsticka 2 years ago
Opps sorry about that. I got confused at first.
cruiseshipz 2 years ago
Sorry about what? What are you confused at?
samsticka 2 years ago
About what you said about the outro & I didn't pay attention to your comment for a second, so sorry about that.
cruiseshipz 2 years ago
Oh, OK. Or how about this? Leave Jeopardy!'s outro alone and make Wheel's more like Jeopardy!'s?
Such as:
Merv Griffin Enterprises logo, KingWorld logo and title card with the copyright in that order.
samsticka 2 years ago
Well that would in 1984-1992, but hey fine with me. ;)
cruiseshipz 2 years ago
No problem. :)
The closings wouldn't be EXACTLY the same, may I mind you. Just the order everything appears in.
