  • Are you playing it with your keyboard or what? Seriously, I wanna know, I have the original at home, right next to me, but with a keyboard it isnt as muich fun as it used to be in the old times

  • Damn the nostalgia watching this gameplay. So many good memories with this game. Really wish I could play this right now.

  • Great game of my childhood, gosh so many great old games out there and what the new games brings to us? Some graphical enchancements and a lot of less chalenges than anytime before :P

  • the soundtrack to this game was awesome!

  • This brings me back... Way back...

  • A friend had an ubber computer that could play this...I was so jelly

  • Shooting trees and see them explode was fun.

  • One of the best games I ever played. and Hyperblade. :D

  • @KoopaNinj omg hyperblade was awesome, I remember Terminal Velocity was my brothers game, he bought it and it didn't run very well on our pc so he wouldn't play it. I just wanted to play it so bad, I feel like I'm doing something wrong just watching this video haha

  • @freeradicals lol. Can you please put some hyperblade videos up? I cant find the soundtrack or any other gameplay of it anywhere. :( Maybe you could upload a few and the soundtrack?

  • @KoopaNinj I wish I could! my demo of the game is on the other side of the world in boxes. I'll have a gander on the net anyhow.

  • Ugh, other side of the world huh. In America? lol

  • @KoopaNinj Tasmania, and right now I'm in UK ;D

  • I remember this game, it brings back good memories!

  • Thank you! I've been looking for this game, (only knowing how the graphics look) for over 5 years now. Thank you!

  • OMG I remember playing this game as a wee little kid wit my dad. Brings back so many memories 8')

  • wow, this brings me back. Many hours of existence wasted. Loved this game, one of the first modem-modem multiplayer games

  • epic

  • Recuerdo este juego como si fuera ayer... unos de mis juegos favorito de aquella época cuando fui niño, quisiera volver... ;)

  • Thumbs up if you're here because of Wheezy :/

  • i was searching the song actually...

  • I remember playing this into the late hours on Friday nights, and having Conan on the TV , my hands orange thanks to Doritos, and mountan dew cans piling up.

  • played this at my uncles a very long time ago with Blade Runner and Civ 2, before I even had my own PC to play on.

  • first 3d game that I remember with a bi-linear filter option..but the first 3d cards made it so awefull slow :P

  • I remember i had the demo of this with Whacky Wheels on a Rise of the Triad disk. I used to play this on my Packard Bell computer. LOL

  • hellbender is the same xD

  • brilliant game

  • My first game on a Windows 95 machine with Joytick.

    Hardcore Gaming !!

Lot's of games followed but this and Ocarina, Best Times !!!

    Whoooo

  • It's me or the "menu theme" sounds like Pantera's A New Level?

  • asskicking game, asskicking soundtrack :D

  • @scorpian007 I love the music too. :)

  • sweet! used to play this game on 486s in high school :) (I'm 33)

  • @neutrino78x Dude the good old 486s Computers were the bomb!! :D

We are actually considered the first elder gamers that expirienced gaming in the late 80's and early 90's with the Floppy Disks

Now the games we have today have no substance and joy..

  • This reminds me of Microsoft Fury 3. I still have this game to this day. Awesome sound track.

  • I remember loving the music in this so much when I was a kid :D

  • This was my first game back in the 1998. It was demo version with my S3 Virge Card.

  • I find it really funny how simmilar fury3 turned out to this, I guess they had a time limit, so copy pasting is easy enough. Just swap a few skins, the sounds are pretty much exactly the same, and it still has the search through crates to find extra ammo.

  • Man...I ran this on my old 486 33MHz, at a time when "High Quality" graphics caused slowdowns. Then I got my AMD 133MHz pc and it burned through it man.. BOY that was fun times. I yet to beat the 3rd world.

  • I can still play this game, but I have to use the latest version of Dosbox, (7 something) plus a front end program. Old DOS games work very poorly on new PCs.

  • Until now, I didn't think this game was real! I played the demo once as a kid but couldnt get the game to work after that. I had totally forgotten about it until now :D

  • childhood memories ^^

  • this game was the shit. my memories of it also included listening to the song "we didnt start the fire" by billy joel while playing.

  • If anyone is interested in the sound track I extracted the .sob files from every game I own recorded them. Terminal Velocity, Fury3, Fury 3 Expansion and Hellbender, have almost entire soundtrack into MP3s I was obsessed with the music of these games, I have Monster Truck Madness Theme too all done by Kyle Richards.

  • Oh woow !!! thank youuuu! I was still looking for the game's name... Nostalgy =D AMAZING!

  • oh wow, i miss that music.

  • this game was so boss

  • we need a remake NOW!!!!!!!

  • I used to play this on my 486DX4-120 :))

  • @RamboZsolt I played it on my PowerMac 8200/120 about year 1997 or a liitle later..

What a game .. on those days

  • @RamboZsolt P120mhz for me dude :D

  • Man, I haven't seen that game in sooooo long. I miss those games!

  • I LOVED THIS GAME

  • i loved this fucking game

  • In my childhood, when i play this, it was hard to not vomite! Yeah, this was sweet!

  • This game was SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I want another game like this, simple gameplay, but well sometimes simple is good.

  • This game gave me hours of joy! I would like to play this game again sometime

  • I loved this game back in the day.

  • Oh yes that was one of the best games in the 90s! Great memories.

  • trifir3 trifir3 trifir3 trifir3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember playing this at my dad's office, directly from some slow server down in the basement, thus making the game stutter as hell :) But it was still awesome...

  • The music in this games was so gorgeous that I often played it just to listen the music again and again. The game itself was great fun too of course with amazing 3d graphics for that time and open ended levels. The greatest period in my life also coincided with years when it was well known and popular (1995-1997).

  • this game was so hot!

  • The music reminds me of Nine inch nails...

  • I remember I had a blast playing the shareware version long ago, but that was only after I played through Fury3 and discovered this predecessor. Maybe someday I'll be able to finish the rest of the game, but I'm not too keen on playing DOS games anymore because of all the hassle required to get it running properly.

  • this decent and lemmings wer the only games i played bak then

  • is it just me or is the music really similar to blade 2 main theme?

  • omg... this was my first pc game, ever, when I was 9 or 10yrs old back in '95. I used to love how big the maps were and how you could go above the clouds.

  • maybe go do a terminal velocity of the mods in HAWX 2

Terminal Velocity was the best game since

  • The shareware came on my duke3D cd, unforgettable music

  • Were Terminal Velocity I & II, Fury3, and Hellbender are part of h same series?

  • damn reminds me of good ol decent 3 =3

  • Demn, those were good days, how can I run this on a pc with windows 7 ?

  • Omg, the awesome music! My youth came crashing down on me xD Awesome game!

  • i remember finding a rip of this game on a cd full of old dos games. then spent days playing it

  • I think I tried to build most of this stuff in Legos at one point or another....

  • who know wat the 28th century will be like in the year 2707 i know its gunna be super super cool and different in real life its like a century where many many many dreams can be true and wishes and there be wizards but different than harry potter and some can be pulled from the movies tho

  • the afterburners were so intense :)

  • I loved playing this game multilayer against my friends and whooping there asses :P good times for at least 1 of us!

  • OMG! EPIC game! One of the best.

  • is it just me or is the music in older games about 3times more epic than gamemusic nowadays?

  • @Zhamp0

Electronic music is a lost art. As soon as game developers get a budget their producers are like "NO!! WE GAVE YOU MONEY FOR A REAL ORCHESTRA AND YOU'RE GONNA USE IT DAMMIT!"

  • playing this head on... MODEM was freaking awesome haha

  • oh yeh..what memories...i remember this..playing with my friends..i was so young

  • I love the tunnels!

  • I want back in 90's...

  • OH MY GOD! I had Totally Forgotten this game! IT was Awesome!

  • MUSIC!!!!!!

  • God you guys make me sound like an old fart. I was in my early-20's when I first played this, and it rocked my socks back then and seeing it again it still does now. This game has all the feel of being other-worldly. I remember having the demo and beating it the first time; slaying the boss, flying out of the computer circuit-like tunnel and back into the computer world. The music and the feel of the game after beating that last boss was like something out of the Twilight Zone. Very eerie.

  • One of the best games ive played

    Thnx for this video ;)

  • holy fuck, I didn't remember the trees catching FIRE!!! This game and Doom represented all my computer world when I was 10 AMAZING =D

  • i got the full version of this game anyone want it let me know

  • yeah back when i was 6, only beat the demo a few times haha.

  • Omg that sound track brings me old memories

  • NICE!! i used to play the demo for this over and over :) thanks for the trip down memory lane

  • This game was incredibly badass for when it came out, and it has bar none one of the coolest stage 1 songs ever.

  • One of the best games I've played! Perfect difficulty level, nice graphics for the time, music that I still get in my head :p

  • I have this game... but i never really liked it all that much, it's an ok game i guess but I'm just not all that much into flight simulators.

  • (I mean that I still haven't seen a mariokart-like game that have hooked me most; stupid youtube wont let you edit your own comments)

  • GREAT GAME and grea music. I played and loved all 3d Realms games that came on a collection CD which had Duke Nukem 3D as the main feature. After these two, my next favorite would be Whacky Wheels. Still haven't seen a game that hooked me most.

I LOVE Terminal Velocitiy's song, i'm actually working on a guitar cover and planning to release it to youtube. Gonna reply to this video whenever I do it (if I ever at all).

  • wow this game rips ALOT of features off fury 3

  • @tacoftw vice-versa. Microsoft licensed Terminal Velocity's game engine and much of its content for Fury3

  • @tacoftw Fury3 is actually a sequel to this game, haha

  • the soundtrack was one of the most awesome ones i remember from back in the ol' days...

  • Oh wow, I had completely forgotten about this game.

  • I remember playing the demo for this game that came with Duke Nukem 3D!

  • Terminal Reality continued using this engine until 4x4evo 2 (Photex engine) in 2001. That's why TRI games where so easily 'modable'.

  • I used to have a 50 game PC CD-ROM which i think had this game, along with others, like earth worm jim, Hexen, return fire, havoc and so forth

  • @TulusKammer i had a similar one. tomb raider, robo rumble, commandos, and many more that i cant remember. it also had final fantasy 7 i believe but it wouldnt run on my pc :(

  • I just nostalgia'd

  • this game was so damn fun... Sounds track was awesome..

  • oh yeah, one of my first pc games, first one was future dimension, second the glorious terminal velocity

ahhh so nostalgic, brings back memories :-D

  • killer soundtrack ^_^

  • @DerSnoeziewoezie Deadly Emotion, without a deep storyline.. that was the power of this awesome game..

    Descent 2.. same story really.

  • The game works on my windows XP but my USB joy stick does not work with the game what can be done to get the two working together?

  • I was spoilt had Pentium 166 with 16 MB Ram 1.2GB HDD Cyrus Logic 1MB Graphics card. This is exactly how I remember this game, really takes me back thanks a lot!

  • its funny how it used to be like 16 mb of ram was a lot and then now thats like suckish. And I'm spoiled like you were with the latest thing. My comp has 9 gb of ram. 1 terabyte HDD, a quad core cpu, and a 1024 mb gtx 260 nvidia geforce graphics card. lol

  • this thing actually did require alittle bit of power. it was very happy using every bit of that pentium 120.. 133for me laptop, and dont ever run in in win98, even if you have an old soundcard. the evil thing lags like crazy. this one truly is a dos-only game ^^ but so much fun, cutefloor, not utilizing the turbo?

  • me retrocedio en el tiempo, uff que bueno!!

  • I remember enjoying this game quite a lot, it was easier and less confusing than descent, imagine how awesome a MMO version would have been, something like a cross between this and subspace :)

  • @quaxk

I was thinking the same thing. Would be very interesting. Imagine stuff like multiplayer co-op or team vs with one attacking and the other defending the targets.

  • Hey how come when you did normal on Ymir you started in a different place than I did? :S

  • Sometimes I even turn on this game and turn on each level then pause em coz I love the music so much.

  • mm love this game, soundtrack made me feel like a real unstoppable badass. first game i installed on my also unstoppable baddas pentium 120 mhz with a wopping 16 mb of ram.

  • haha i can't believe this has 40000 views. i remember this game.

  • man, those were the days : )

  • Oh, I see now, the radar is overlaid.

  • well found sherlock

  • @eXcommunicate1979

the dots are your targets or enemies

when you destroy one the dot vanishes

  • wow its been like 10 wers. i remember when a lots of guys were after me i climbed over the clouds with afeterburner, then dived and shot them all in a row.

  • How do you put terminal velocity on windows XP?

  • Run it on a DOS emulator like DOSBOX.

  • Could you take me step by step through it?

  • Alright I tried twice to respond but I can't even fit half on the instructions in one message and what I do post keeps not showing up. So I'm just going to send the instructions in a personal message and if this message actually shows up then anyone else that wants to know how to run old games that don't work on their current operating system can message me for instructions.

  • How do you put terminal velocity on windows XP?

  • i remember this game! i wanted to know the name a few years ago when i bought some old games and got them to work through a virtual pc

i will def. have to look this one up again :)

    TAHNKS

  • i played this its so cool the graphics sucks but i really like it

  • its a movie of charlie sheen

  • Nostalgia has made me its bitch.

  • I remember this game and still have the CD for it and i can play it on my mac with cross over games

  • this game = me at age 14, acne, virginity, lots of masturbation, playing duke nukem 3d, getting high with my buddies Saturday night. Priceless memories.

  • @SingHouse u forgot Beavis and Butthead haha

  • @SingHouse this game = me at 3 (from what I've been told...), enjoying blowing stuff up.

  • @SingHouse ROFLMAO!!!

The sad thing is, I'm 21, and nothing has changed :I

  • @SingHouse this game = me at age 10 being a baller

  • @SingHouse me too

  • @SingHouse I lolled so hard at this, so many of us grew up in the same position. God I used to be the biggest 3d Realms fan boi

  • @SingHouse years later, nothing has changed

  • I love this game! It was one of my favorites. I still have it somewhere. I gotta go try and find it now! LOL.

  • thanks for sharing this!!!

  • OH music is sooo goooood

  • the music is awesome. one of the first dos games to have tracked music. among the first i should say

  • and it was only 1995 ;)

  • i miss those days! makes me sad i didn't persue making games back then (i tried but school mostly put a cap on any such dreams!)

  • what were the multiplayer sounds, like "i will destroy you" and "yea your mom"

  • Ahh! I played this ALL THE TIME when I was like 4. SUCH a good game.

  • An overwhelming wave of nostalgia just rampaged through my brain. For 7 minutes and 58 I was seven years old again (and scared shitless whenever you're above the clouds, for some reason!)

  • The music rocked in this game.

  • aw man... I remember this game had these preset voice taunts when you played over the internet (lol dialup XD) and one of them was "THIS IS NO LONGER FUNNNYYYYYYYY!!!"

  • The final boss in world 9-2 is weird.

  • This music brings back memories haha. Loved this game back in the day.

  • I used to be worryingly good at this game. I am not kidding. You would have been amazed. :s

  • AAAHHHH I loved this game... beat it a million times... LOVED the music! Is there any way to get CDs of the music from this game or Fury3?

  • I own the sequel, Fury3, and find it rather fascinating that Terminal Velocity has so much better graphics. Fury3 didn't come out until about one year after this if I remember correctly, kind of makes you wonder what they did in that year. This game looks superior in every way, I'll have to get it.

  • If I remember correctly, Microsoft game studios bought them out.......need I say more. That explains the graphics.

  • I love this game:)

  • its like hellbender and decent

  • I like the Main Menu Music...

    Such good old Times...

  • ive been playing this with my father!!!! via serial! wow those were times!

  • wolfenstein 3d,terminal velocity and duke 3d where some of the first games i ever played

  • truly epic game

  • EPIC ... miss the old times :)

  • I rarely registered shareware games but this was one i remember sneakily buying on an isle of wight family trip. Eps 2 and 3 were basicly more of the same (= more good stuff). The new planet designs were nice esp the desert and ocean stages and the bosses were interesting.

  • this and 1 other game used to be my favorite games ever!

  • I never got the chance to play this, I was a big fan of Fury 3 though. They look very similar.

  • awesome game, lost countless hours playing this addictive, insanely fun game... never enough afterburner tho, lol
