  • @katsura1982 Of course there isn't. All of these ideal forms are in @mantisk2003 tremendously experienced brain but certainly not on the internet. All we get in contributions from him on youtube are videos of his dog and trolling tai chi videos with self-important proclamations about the correct way to demonstrate Lao Jia.

  • I have actually learned a different form similar to this form, but shortened from a student of Master Hsu and a kung fu brother of Jason Tsou. Is there any lack of benefit from learning the short form and the long form?

  • i see a lot of people feeling their self worth is connected to the reputation of the performer.

It is the worst thing that has happened throughout the entire history of oriental and asian culture's promotion in the west, and has been a cause of so many misconceptions as myths and wives tales are passed on as factual techniques with the support of incorrect historical anecdotes.

  • @macnwhizz please upload a video of you showing us what good taiji is supposed to look like.research more, watch again.to disrespect a great master shows your lowness.

  • @macnwhizz Why do you think this is the worst Tai Chi ever? Can you be more specific in what you think he does wrongly? I am by no means an expert and I have no idea what the Chen old form should look like but I think that the structure is there throughout the form and he seems to adhere to internal principles.

  • @Sjnjerak If the structure is there throughout the form, please note the variances in repetitions of the same movement, even more noticeable in the video of the long (full) version of the routine.

Which internal principles do you believe are adhered to? For example; is the theatrical completion of hand movements after ceasing all other movements correct. What of the shape of the groin/pelvis relative to knee adduction?

Disappointing from a teacher who claims to aim to preserve individual flavour

  • @macnwhizz I don't see anything wrong with it. It's different, like most old kung-fu forms I've seen from many styles. Less finesse but the applications are there. Let's see you post on youtube hotshot. Or do only read about martial arts in magazines?

  • @macnwhizz

Hm we must have seen two different forms- I find it very good. It has some differences its no new frame Chen Family Taiji its the old frame, were you see more the most likely roots of it. I think what influences the way he performs also is that he is a Baji Quan practitioner. Kind regards

  • @WahrerDrache Have you trained with this teacher, or a student of his? You have answered, and contradicted yourself, by making allowance for another of the performer's styles.

You can see versions of older old frames, where the most likely roots are evident, done by people that the performer claims said his technique was alike to theirs. However, they do not look similar.

It may be older, and older may be better/more applicable, but differentiate whether this is a better older version.

  • @mantiskf2003 it's the first of three Chen Taiji forms and is called "Lao jia" (老架), which literally means, "Old Form" or possibly "Old Frame". it's not an a bad vid, i don't see why there's such a big discussion.

everyone should enjoy it for what it is, a teaching video, and like Lao jia, intended to supply students with basic movements, postures and applications. certainly not the end of Chen Taiji training and definitely his interpretation.

  • @katsura1982 Oh, I'm very aware of what the form is supposed to be, and all the excuses as to why it looks different to other versions, even within the same lineage. Teaching videos must supply consistency in basic movements that adhere to tai ji quan principles at the very least. Explanations are not to be confused with applications.

  • @mantiskf2003 is there a video you think is more representative? i'm actually curious. it's good to see as many different practitioners as possible.

  • Porque hay que adornar tanto a los esquemas.
