me and my brother love the part where potiphar gets mad and ''bursts through'' the door! we laugh so hard about the stories we make up about him! he roars and everything ... GO POTIPHAR!
@JodieDamarellx That's okay, I had to play Tybalt in my school's production of Romeo and Juliet because not enough boys wanted to wear tights. The only boys were Paris and Romeo and the drama teacher had to play Lord Capulet.
haha when they are all lying down in the big group and the hands are randomly grabbing u can see thro their skirts....just thought i wud point tht out
Love the song, the only thing about the song and this scene is that it kinda puts Joseph in a light where he is portrayed as an innocent child-like guy. In fact it should be more that Joseph actively resisted the wife of Pontiphar. Oh well, showbiz for ya.
Im doing this play! im a "three others" but, i'm a girl and there is five of us and i throw joseph in jail.... our coregraphing is just like they movie!!! i love donny osmand to! hes my idol... i realy enjoy this play i wish i could be in the movie!
I was in this movie as a child then performed it in New York with Mr. Osmand then in LA with Michale Damean. It was the best 3 years of my life. Im 27 now and still walk around singing and dancing to the sound track. !!!!!
all you fucking morons arguing about the bible and that shit!
its a fucking play made from a story in the bible for familt enteitament thats not meant to be taken seriously! so just shut up, stop argueing and just enjoy the play!!!!!!!!
@TheDarklordganon i totally agree!! its sooo stupid that that many peo ple would argue about something as serious as that when we are basically watch a kid film.
@TheDarklordganon i totally agree!! its sooo stupid that that many peo ple would argue about something as serious as that when we are basically watching a kids film.
Potiphar's wife really did think Joseph attractive, and did ask him to lie with her. And he did refuse every day, for that was his master's wife, and you don't sleep with yout master's wife.
One day, though, Joseph went to take care of Potiphar's house, and she caught him by the cloak. He ran away so as not to let her have her way, and she kept the cloak and told Potiphar that she HAD lain with Joseph.
Then Potiphar had Joseph thrown into the king's gaol.
If it's in the bible you really think I'm gonna believe that? That's like reading a giant bibliogrophy on somthing thats not real, like santa. I like the play much more than I care for your work of fiction that you take as real :P.
I dont like this because it makes on think that Joseph did eventually give in.... Also, the son Jacob and sons makes one think that Benjamin had a hand in joseph's fate when he was not even there at the time and was still in his youth
and the truth is, compared to what really happened, this is toned down a lot, she got him completely undressed and almost got him to the bed, but he struggled and got free and ran out of the room, she screamed and lied saying he forced her to have sex with him and then slapped her when she refused, so, they really toned it down a lot for the show... but still had the sense so that people knew that sex was involved in her mind, though they didn't do it. All in the Bible! they say the verse too!
the movie is a "kid" movie, and people say that it is too innapropraite as with this scene, the Egyptian's costumes show a lot of skin, but, if they changed that it would be inncorrect. They needed to leave that in because Egyptain girls did show a lot of skin with there clothes! they couldn't leave out this scene because it is very important to the story...
I love the narrator in this version. In the "letting out a mighty roar....ect" i love her transition frm her chest to head voice. sounds beautiful but still powerful!
@KattusJemina the letting out a mighty roar part is the same tune as the chained and bound afraid alone part in the pharoah song and our narrator mixed them up, it was a disaster
My school is doing this as our production and this the cast song. During set work, we sing this. And I am one of the dancers in this song. Its awesome!! :)
I'm in a production of this right now, and this is definitely our favorite song to sing. It's one of the catchiest songs in the whole show! It's just one of those songs =]
Yay! my school is doing this musical and i love this song, maybe cuz our potipher is super cute! even though the song has a tendancy to get stuck in my head. always gets stuck in my head
um i dont think he is that young i would say early 30's actually because he is 50 yrs old now and he said he did it for six years so im not real sure!
i would say late 30s becuz this was finally released on VHS in 1999 and you said he did it for 6 years which would be 1993 and he is now 50 years old and its 2008 and 2000 - 1993 is 7 and now its 2008 so add 8 and that makes 16 so 50 - 16 is 34 so he started when he was 34 but in this he is 40. i think
OMG, I saw this in the West End with Lee Mead as Joseph, it was hilarious! Mrs. P's girls chased him around the bed and then she yanked him into her arms.
i was in this musical for my school play nd i was one of the potipher dancers, we were very careful with what we did because we were only in middle school!!
joseph really cocked that up.
