I know I've said this before about this song, but it really touches the soul. It sounds pretty sad and down, but it's still gorgeous. In fact, I cried a little when I first herd it. The feeling it induces is very memorable.
This is a fantastic song, and not to mention a fantastic anime. Anyone new here make sure to seek out this original version (3 OAVs), not that newer 12 episode nonsense. This series does end on a downer note, but it's poetic in its execution. Don't let any comments here dissuade you from seeking this out. This is real anime, not Naruto or that garbage.
@mgoguy81 Way ahead of you, man. I have seen and have known the original 80s OVA trilogy since I was 13. I have seen all 3 episodes, and I have the 2 disk DVD edition. Great stuff. Totally unlike anything you'd see today. But thanks for the advice anyway, man. I do appreciate it. Area 88 (80s OVA more spesifically) is pure gold.
