  • I live a few blocks from that house and trust me it wasnt our worst

  • For anybody that cares, Boston uses the NFPA books as a guideline. We don't go "by the book", we use it to figure out how to fight fires our way, that works for us. So keep on talking about what you don't know. And as for the ladder in the back, there were guys on it into the house pulling a small child out, thereby saving her life. All of what you saw in this video happened just that quickly. It went from one floor to all 3 in a matter of a minute or so due to balloon framing/faulty electrical

  • really scary i almost pissed myself twice

  • boston and new york city i respect only in da east coast, since im was born in boston anyways, but still rhode island fuck it

  • @abaddon1935

hey language please. I have a sick uncle in Rhode island

  • Cameraman couldnt help sneakin shots of the hot lady cop. ;)

  • I live near there...

  • That's a fine ass police bitch go boston.

  • that will give you fake ass jakes something to complain about. when we hear that box tappin we dont care about getting hit in the head with an axe, we care about tameing the beast and letting it know whos in charge---BFD's in charge baby....

And the German guy, go pull a drunk ass out of a church. thats the only roof work you krouts see.

  • all these crybabys about ppe. i cant wait to get to 21 so i cna prove myself like e21 and big jake, I will even kick it old school, leather jacket and hip boots. I will go with out air, just give me the pipe, just give me the goddamn pipe man.

  • Yes WannaBe, these cowards don't even realize that some times, over at E21 we try to wear as little PPE as possible, because we need more of a challenge. One old salt I work with, goes to boxes in just his underwear. That's salty.

  • could we at least have a helmet on?...your swinging an axe...you got other people working with tools around you..comon...that is ridiculous. that kind of firefighting makes me cringe

  • helmet? you're upset about about a helmet. Hahaha. I know all I need to know about the kind of department you're on. Keep watching the videos, the only fire you get to see.

  • so hey, yeah my department does not run on a whole boat load of runs like boston does, ive seen my fair share of fires, and we all know that we do our job safely and we will all leave on the truck we came on. im not bringing down this fire department, because what they do is totally awesome..same with all other fire departments out there...in this particular case...they could have been much safer about it..and there is no way you can watch this, and say that they are being as safe as they can.

  • wah, wah, wah.

  • BRFFD wouldn't survive a day on E21

  • wouldnt survive a minute on 14

  • da sind iwi die deutschen feuerwehren schneller und gehen nicht ohne Artemschutz auf so ein verqualmtes dach

  • if you guys took half as much time trying to put the fire out as you did putting up ladders youd probably save a lot more houses. boston is much too aggressive a department to make laddering the building their first priority.

  • hah BFD did write the book. It's the first in the nation

  • how was that first minute a disgrace to the fire service what because they wern't all buckled up and didnt't have their pusy head socks oon

  • hot cop at 3:48

  • there was no ladder on the back of the house because there was no room. Take a look at the back yard

  • Well find space. THERE NEEDS TO BE A LADDER AT EVERY SIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • check the other video of this same fire. the helo shows a good shot of the back yard at 0:38 there is plenty of room on that charly side for an extension ladder all the way from the bravo corner to the tree on the charly-delta corner. if your not competent enough to raise a ladder there then you dont belong on a fire department

  • they way this fire was handled was a disgrace. No helmet ladders are only in the front throwing scba tools saws which one falls off the building. Just horrible. You will see how bad they did from the helicopter shot. might show on the side bar. It was an embarrassment.

  • if you were stuck on a roof with all that shit what would you do just leave it up there, go back up and get it later? No! Get it the fuck off the roof! You're still stuck on the roof mind you, your helmet burns or falls of the roof what do you do?jump on the chopper? No! Get down when the dumbass workin the stick gets you down!

  • This house is still F...ed up

  • Risking yours to save theirs !

  • Nice video but fireman no helmet ????

  • Does someone, who was there, know why they didn't just head down the aerial? 100 ways to skin a cat boys.

  • The flames shot up through the roof so fast and trapped them on the backside of the house. The had to jump on the roof of the house next door and go down that ladder. It was real hairy for a few min there everything happened so fast. I was toward the back of the house

  • why wasnt there a ladder on the back side of the house? both aerials on the front side flames on the front side wheres your second means of egress? your lucky you didnt loose a brother that day

  • Simple answer is probably that there was no way of getting it close enough to be effective. This isn't Kansas, Mattapan is quite dense.

  • my bad i guess i should have been a little clearer i'm not talking about a ladder truck or aerial i'm talking just an extention ladder. looks like there is plenty of room in the large grass area on the charly side. check the other video on here of the same fire that is viewed from a chopper it shows the lawn better at 0:38. i'm not trying to bust anyones balls here i'm just saying a few things could have been done better and from what i am reading here there was alot done right as well

  • sorry ran out of room on the last one

great job on getting everyone out alive and doing what needed to be done to get the job done. use this video to learn from your mistakes and try not to make the same ones next time

  • Thanks for the tip there skipper but I wouldn't really concern yourself that much with it. These out of town manual jockeys never cease to amaze me with their "concern" for their "brothers".

  • fine FU then you did it wrong and got lucky you didnt loose one or your own. the roof was vented get off it. one guy starts to leave then gets back on the roof to play more pattycake. i am a firefighter have been for 10 years and an instructer for 4. i have donated to several firefighter down funds and with bone head moves like this i dont want to see you on the news crying about how you lost one of your own

  • dont know why it posted it up here i hit reply this is for you tmsboston122

  • Those who can't, teach. Preach your own ways to your guys. Thanks for nothing.

  • and those who dont listen fuck the dog and die. learn from your mistakes or become a statistic

  • What crap ass department do you work for where one can become an instructor after only six years?

  • fuck you you little terd i didnt become an instructor after 6 years on a dept i became an instructor after 16 years in the corps. and from your bio i see your all of 23 which means when i was in iraq the first time you where still shitting yourself. so i guess one could say its the department of defence. it was just a little advice i offered and you had to turn it into a pissing match. well i have better things to do than to try and make you look like a bigger ass than the video does

  • Ooooh ... The Corps. ... impressive. Tell me, were you this fucked up before you went into the marines or are these anger issues a common outcome after 16 years with that crack squad.

  • well i guess you add as well as you fight fires 16 + 4 is 20 years fuck stick. the anger issues come for those 20 years of dealing with jackass sivilians like you with 5 years experiance thinking they know how to shit better than you do. you wouldnt last a day in my shoes there sparkie.

  • dont want to double post it threw my other post up top and i figure youll never find it there

  • If it was that hot that is helmet melted he should not have been up there, his turnout coat is open as well, he should go to church and thank god that he did not get hurt.

  • BUFFS!

  • another complete idiot that has never opened a roof.

  • The true idiot is the guy on the roof. First, he has no scba on and if his helmet did come off and melt he should have come off the roof. Our own get killed all the time because they are to stupid to wear all thier gear.

  • well starting to anyway.

  • seemed like ALOT more fire when I got there. looks like they are getting it.

  • Flairball. You must be a volly, You dumb ass. These dudes need to go buy some lottery tickets , cause it was their lucky day. You say Boston is the only place fires get put out. Your stupid. Look at that video again. I dont see nothing being put out. But I see some FF's jumping for they lives from one roof to another. The reason that guy wasnt wearing his helmet was cause it caught on fire and melted. Your a fuckin idiot.

  • true story, his helmet did burn

  • GO WATCH!!!!!!! Boston Fire- 3 Alarms 11/12/07 IT IS VERY VERY BAD. IT SHOW WHAT GOING ON .THE ROOF.HO SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Boston Fire- 3 Alarms 11/12/07 VIDEO SHOW THE GUYS ON THE ROOF

  • Whoa!

Did you get permission to record these firefyterz?

    I hears some werdz! That's a WIRETAP!

  • No air packs on the roof, Lady Luck, no helmet, no gloves,....Whaaa!!! The problem is the critics all want to look out for their "Brothers" by telling them how it's done because they read it in a book. Every critic here would suck a dick to be on the BFD, and another to work in Mattapan. Boston puts fires out. Period. Can the other metro area departments say the same thing? No. The guys in this video are doing what they do because they've got experience and know what they can do.

  • Hehe. Well, I'm sorry. I stand corrected. I did not realize Boston was the only place where fires got put out. So much for the rest of the country I guess. You boys are obviously so good you can rewrite the book. Thanks for the invite, but I'm gonna resectfully stay out of Mattapan, and off my knees. Facts refute myth. This video says it all.

  • your dam right BFD can rewrite the books and dont you ever forget it......

  • Hey Flair.... is that how you got your job? Just curious :)

  • I'm not trying to say we are so good we can re-write any book, but wondering why everyone else believes the book they've read is an absolute truth. There are no absolutes on the fire ground. Boston operated differently, your department operates differently. Doesn't make it wrong. Experience goes a long way in making decisions on the fire ground. Even decisions like dropping your mask while you work outside. Or not drop you mask while you work out side.

  • Fireball you are a Moron .

  • I meant flairball

  • it's in a "book" for a reason

  • learn how to read you spark weirdo i said if you call it a pack your a loser not if you use one but i would love for you to explain the proper use of scba on a roof

  • Got it right? Air packs equated to losers? The ONLY reason BFD didn't make world news reporting dead firefighters from this fire is simple. Lady Luck smiled on our brothers, as she does so often. Thank You Lady Luck! Let's be honest and call a spade a spade. Some key SOPs were violated on this one. Fire Companies save lives every day without putting crews in unnecessary harms way. Let's learn from each other's events, and move on to a better future. I prefer not to rely on Lady Luck so much.

  • Strong work Boston keep it up. Wish I could work along side you guys.

  • haha why metallica?

  • Fire fighters r awesome

    God bless

  • if you even use the term "pack" your most likley in the top 10% of the biggest losers in all of the fire servive and its only a matter of time before chris hansen catches you for doing that other thing with your computer that you do when your not bashing good fire departments over fires you were not even at.

  • yep, good job jakes!

  • dont you just love firefighter monday morning quarterbacks who see 3 mins of video and think they know everything about an incident..air packs can be laid on the roof with you, and that aerial was not laying on the eves, how could you tell this fire was self venting? were you on the roof? no, your sitting on your couch critique'in men getting the job done.

  • no helmet, no gloves, no air pack, cant zip or buckle a coat, resting arials on eves of buildings, being on the roof of an already slef-vented building. wow dumb, i hope someone got their ass chewed for this.

  • Boston does thing's Boston's way as every other department does things it's own way. No department, at least no reputable department adheres 100% to the NFPA vollyfuck handbook when those methods contradict what is proven to work for them. That's what it comes down to; doing what works best for you; not just what keeps you safe. If personal safety's your primary concern, you're in the wrong biz shitbag. It's called the fire SERVICE for a reason, you serve others, not yourself.

  • As for not being a firefighter, who the fuck are you to make that assertion, some third rate high school explorer piss stain? I'll make 35 years on Boston before you make it an hour outside Mom's basement or McDonald's and who gives a flying shit about Miami Dade and Lexington? Second only to Seattle and perhaps Portland, I couldn't think of two bigger pots o'shit.

  • well said brother, i always get fucking new volly recruits who comment on my videos that so and so doesn't know what he's doing or did this or that wrong....because they just got done with firefighter 1 courses and they've never actually been inside a fire Boston FD rocks, us guys down in Wheeling FD IAFF Local 12 (WV) know you guys do it best, especially with truck work

  • hey when are you going to bring me to the jungle again i need to see some of this shit in person

  • i hear ya salem, one of the biggest and "best" fire depts in the nation and they still cant get it right...*shakes head* i know full ppe isnt right for every single situation but come on guys a working fire, and your doin truck work on the roof with no packs or helmets??

  • Cant get it right??? They rescued over 10 people from this building, They did it right!! Because of them, zero people lost there lives that day!!

  • amen

  • no mask on the roof??? wow

  • I give it 5 star due to the cute police officer. She made the video a hit.

  • oh shit, shes hotter than the fire!

  • I was thinking the same thing haha.

  • i saw that i was there (not in tha house) i live like 5 mins away 4rm there i saw smoke and i walked down dere 2 see wat happened

    dats scary... REALLY

  • i did not know TAY ZONDAY worked for boston fire dept -- 1:56
