I love all Disgaea games but I think 2 is my favorite so far. 3 was actually my first Disgaea. It was great but after playing 2 and 1 on my PSP I just feel the story wasn't all there for 3. But 2 is was just great. The characters were just amazing. Although I got to say the opening for 3 is my fave.

@TheDog7118 Since the PS2 is backwards comaptible, if you can find some older Playstation (PSone) titles, I would recommend those. Final Fantasy Tactics (PS1) is a good one. Trying to think of Strategy RPG's is tougher but I am familiar with tons of RPG's in general for the PS2 and PS1.

my ps2 is no longer comaptible whit ps1 games cuz disc read error that suck and will not read ps2 blue back to i try cleaning lens and it still do not read CDs it only reads DVD games back i hare phantom brave is a good one

@TheDog7118 No offense intended in this reply: FFT is pretty much like Disgaea but more difficult I'd say. Did you not like it because it was hard? or you didn't know what to do in it? or just in general because you played the first couple chapters and developed a stable idea / dislike for it?

The same thing happened to my dad's PS2 where it didn't read the blue discs, I think it's a generation thing with the PS2, the early models probably didn't play blue discs like Gauntlet Dark Legacy.

@StoneMonkWisdom i did not like because it was hard i can try reply it when i get my ps3 back form sony i got the YLOD on my ps3 rigth now hey playthrough for FFT for stage 5 that part i can't pass by the way FFT as more like record of agarest war (xbox360 and ps3) as gameplay go but record of agarest war is not as hard in FFT why did they make where enemy have same levels as your characters that what makes it so hard

@TheDog7118 It's not the levels that matter in FFT and you can always grind in random battles, though the monsters and enemies in random encounters are same level. Early in the game they aren't as strong as they could be however. Levels matter if you have A LOT of them but otherwise don't make much difference, it's the sklls and abilities you've learned for each unit and job class and equipment you choose and stategic decisions in battle that help you win or lose. Why is the PS2 version called Cursed Memories and the PSP version Dark Hero Days?

@jonathanx1408 When most games are ported to the PSP, usually there are upgrades to the gameplay, additions, or additional content of some sort. While this usually varies from game to game, the PSP versions are essentially a new game pf their own. In Dark Hero Days, you can unlock an Axel Dark Hero mode and have him as the main character instead of Adell and the rest even following a different storyline, etc. There are other additions but to many to mention in the rest of this comment.

Doods, you won't believe this but... I was playing Disgaea 2 on my new PSP, (actually a used one but it wasn't really used for more than an hour due to the person getting annoyed by the gaming mechanics) And right when Adell came on screen, the game froze! ADELL BROKE MY PSP!!!!! So I bought a new one because my PSP wouldn't work after that...

great game already completed everything took me a long time to get it finish but i still prefer the 2 out of the other 2 sure they were great games but i like how the story goes in the second one then the other two. sure the 3rd give me lots of laughs cuz of Mao says the most funniest things oh if u die ill just experiment on your corpse that way it makes things much easier for me to work on u HHAHAHA! great game if u like disgaea :D

not that there better at all on the psp there is maybe a couple more different features fir disgaea 1 while disgaea 2 is virtually the same...its a matter of playing them on a big screen or ur psp

Yes they are better. For example the PSP version of Disgaea 2 let's you do the Magi-change thing from Disgaea 3... still havent figured it out though...

to be fair, Prinnies don't belong to anyone in particular, but they CAN be bought out (like etna did in 1) and during disgaea 2 they try to summon a powerful demon (Etna). and I can't remember who, but Laharl eats one of the storyline bosses because "he was hungry" and want's etna to join him in becoming main characters again n_n

Actually, he's the only one out of the three who actually is primarily good: He wants to save his family, as well as his world. Mao and Laharal just wanna take over the Netherworld or sumthin'.

I have to agree about Adell. He's probably the best male lead I've seen from NIS in the disgaea series. Sure, Laharl CAN drop a meteor on your face and Mao can experiment with you and everything but...Adell is Captain Falcon junior and can punch you into next year.

All in all. Adell. Probably the best lead from INS.

The intro movie seems to be in NTSC mode even though the game itself is PAL. Can be noticed only by unlucky fellas (like me) with PAL-only TVs.
