That is a cool model you have and a great review. You should check out all of the TOS shows, some are really good and 1 or 2 must of had a lower budget, but all great stuff. thanks

for me it's the other way around. I only watched about 1 1/2 episodes of NG, because from what I watched everything takes place on the ship and to me is really boring. While in TOS they went to explore different planets and was a really fun adventure type show. I like NG a little just because of data. I also like picard,geordi and riker. But nothing beats Kirk, Spock, Mccoy, Sulu, Scotty, and lots and lots of others.

Just in case nobody bothered to mention it, the nacelles are at a distance from the main ship because of how the warp engines generate a warp field (or "warp bubble") around the ship. The technique used by Starfleet (but not everyone) generates a specific shape of field, and placing the nacelles away from the main body of the ship allows them to most efficiently work together in generating a field around the entire vessel. It has *nothing* to do with radiation or crew safety.

the stand actually was not the orginal starfleet insignia, the "delta" as its called was actually enterprise specific, and wasn't until star trek the motion picture that the delta became an entire starfleet emblem

Greetings. Nacell is pronounced nih,sell, with the emphasis being on the second syllable, or cell. Second, the Enterprise D was Galaxy Class and Enterprise E is Sovreign, just FYI. Third, that annoying buzzing beeping is the bridge sound, and the main reason I can't stand the original series. If they had just done the background humming and beeping of the Enterprise D and other ships of TNG and following, or even like Star Wars, it would have been tolerable, but it was supposed to sound active.

I can't get into the show due to it's lack of quality by today's standards. It started everything "Trek", but I can't get into it. I can't even get into the first movie and they had a higher budget.

I spoke in an "arrogant, dismissive manner" because it, like most of Playmates' ships wasn't too great in terms of detail.

Did I say I liked Trip? I've watched exactly one full episode of Enterprise and that's it. I've only watched all of TNG and Voyager so far.

According to cannon information the Enterprise was the only one of the original 13 constitution class vessles to return. The rest were either destroyed or there crew killed in some way or lost if you add in the defiant. Thats the reason they gave for making the Enterprise delta symbol the universal starfleet one go look it up on memory alpha.

Pronounced "Nuh-cells". TOS 1701 is Constitution class. 1701-B is Excelsior class, 1701-C is Ambassador class, 1701-D Galaxy class, 1701-E is Sovereign class. Button 3 does sound like the bridge noise, but it is louder and not as acurate.

Probably. There were a little of background computer noises on the bridge, beeps, low hums, and higher pitched bleeps. Wasn't too loud. Typical 1960's tv sci-fi/fantasy where every botton, knob and light made a different sound. In the case of TOS, it was rather decent. :)

Nice review I havent really seen all that many people do that many Trek toy reviews. I actually like the playmates version of the 1701 just slightly better than the AA version as Playmates version feels more solid and suprisingly has more molded in detail.

Why oh why couldn't they have kept the design for the new movie?! It still works today and stands the test of time!

There was about a minute of me saying the same thing near the end, but I changed my mind.

I found a site that put it nicely. The new version their using is to be the version before the Motion Picture Enterprise. It took them 18 months to change the TOS Enterprise into the Motion Picture one and it's more believable they did it with the 2009 Enterprise than the original.

This is entirely before TOS. The new Enterprise is supposed to be the one Kirk was zipping around in during his five year mission.

Sorry about not making sense. If you look at pictures of the TOS, Motion Picture and the new Enterprises it's easier to believe the new one was changed to the Motion Picture version than the TOS to it.

The new movie starts off before Kirk became Captain of the Enterprise. Christopher Pike is the Captain in the movie. Kirk is just a diamond in the rough brash cadet that no one wants, but will later regret not having. It is the beginning of how the original crew were formed.

I have to say I like Picard the most as well hes one of the most likable commanding officers on any show I have seen. Janeway was a good captain also she had the whole strong intelligent women thing going on for her. I enjoyed voyager more then the next generation probably due to me being to young to really understand TNG at the time it originally aired. I definitely enjoyed voyager more then deep space nine especially when seven of nine became a regular but I hear a lot of fans didn't like her.
