"In the course of history, there comes a time when humanity is called to shift to a new level of consciousness, to reach a higher moral ground. A time when we have to shed our fear and give hope to each other." -Wangari Maathai's Nobel Peace Prize Winner

  • This is very insightful. We must stop using plastic bags. It will help everyone.

  • @pianistjim captain obvious strikes again!

  • @tiger83014 THANKS BRO

  • I'm glad most places stop using plastic bags. even though it costs 10 cents for a paper bag.

  • I'm glad that people are making videos like this to inform the masses on how humans are harming the enviernment

  • Uhm if this was supposed to help stop the use of plastic I don’t think it’s working. So many people in the video using plastic bags it makes me cringe!

  • BPA should do something about the plastic island in the pacific. people should stop using plastic so that the waste decreases.

  • It’s hard for us to get rid of plastic now that we use it in our everyday lives. We feel as if we need these things and if we ‘re going to keep continuing to use them I think we should try and find another alternative for bpa that is less harmful

  • our teacher showed us this in class ;0

  • Am i right that this has been done before? like same exact vid but better

  • I think they polluted to teach us about pollution

  • Roger Roger, we have an over population of plastic bags in America,

    THE CHINESE ARE COMING!!!!!!

    LAKESIDE WIN

  • @narwhalskier5 hell yah

  • "PHENOMENAL" lol

  • home to literally dozens of animals

  • The Great Pacific Landfill. This video is so old. We moved into a brand new house on it ages ago.

  • My teacher showed this to me and my class last year. She gave us an assignment. I can't believe people littler that much. Our generation needs to do more for this enviroment.

  • If you dislike this, you have no soul!

  • Oh my god.

We watched this video in our school xD

Our whooole 7th grade watched it .3.

  • Why is Scar from the lion king narrating?

  • pause at 1:46 lol

  • Absolutely amazing...and sadly so true...

  • did the little shitty dog died?

  • Where did they get the narrator to do that?

  • @NTSC1RC Look at the tab below the screen window: it's Jeremy Irons.

  • All Lifes Very Best All The Time.

  • LOL. "Do you ever feel, like a plastic bag?"...

  • Without a doubt, one of the best videos I have ever seen.

  • 20 POINTS!!!!

  • 1:45 they shouldn't have blurred it out ! Let nature take it's course !

  • @AtomicUrgency ? grrrosssss

  • @chysmith102215 I only kid.

  • that was too beautiful :')

  • potato strach bags are the best and if u r hungry you can fry them xD

  • i like this vid (today i saw it in german) its really funny but meanwhile also criticizing.. so the problem is that the small plastic particles are leading to deforminies of many seacreatures :( .. better are these bags who are made of potato starch they´re biodegradable :)

  • Yeah, lets cut down more TREES instead for paper bages to eliminate these plastic bags, makes lots more sense!

  • @NativePrairieWolf textile bags are usable multiple times, you should give it a try. paper bags can be made of used paper.

  • @LeukoplastS I was being sarcastic, the whole idea behind plastic was to save trees/paper, was cheaper, now they want to ban the plastic that saved the trees..

  • @NativePrairieWolf Yeah and because paper bags isn't a solution we should just hang on the polluting the ocean with plastic, makes lots more sense!

  • how many plastic bags were harmed in the making of this video?

  • @daoduyducduong LOLLLLL

  • @daoduyducduong IT'S OVER 9000!!!!

  • thumbs up if this is one of the best things you've ever seen

  • This video PROVES that the forces against the defensless plastic bag are many and cruel. We need to MOBILIZE and FIGHT the oppressors of this humble( and

usefull) creature, one of mankinds most prolific creations!!

  • The irony is that it's true and there is a huge garbage mass in the ocean and plastic bags choke, maim and poison thousands of sea animals. Think of all the energy it take to make these one time use. Hey people, start using canvas bags and reuse paper and what ever plastic that comes around and RECYCLE.

  • lol @ 1:43

  • Just saw this video in class today, and it was hilarious!!!!!!

  • my reading/writing/geography teacher showed everyone in my class this video i think this is pretty funny XD

  • @cuteEEVEE48559 its a MOCKumentary.

  • 2:34 is the bag goign upwards

  • this makes littering sound good O_O

  • Hilarious! Very well done........

  • What I don't get is... Why is there an Old Spice link on the side of this video??

  • i love his voice, so classy :)

  • Wow! That really does get the point across, despite being funny! I love his "Cycle of Life" comment! LOL I'm sure that comment wasn't referencing anything else. LOL

  • My life is like a plastic bag.

  • Several popular magazines have discussed the problem but other than that the largest collection of garbage hasn't gotten media coverage. What is the solution? 1. It's got to be cleaned up! It's already larger than the US & 90ft deep. 2. Press gov'ts to force companies that produce plastics to clean it up. 3. It makes sense to make non-toxic, biodegradable plastic from Hemp & other organics instead of turning the Earth into a planetary garbage dump which grows more each day we do nothing.

  • Funny mockumentary!

    /watch?v=Qw5JEp0Snbc

  • PLEASE, LETS UNF*CK THE PLANET..........

  • he he he thats funny plastic, really? ha ha ha nice one bendy straw

  • Thumbs up if you cried at the end.

  • No plastic bags were harmed in the making of this film...oh scratch that, they were

  • i wanna see the faces on those parents when they find out their kid's ass is on youtube.

  • My shopping bag had 'This Bag Is Not A Toy' printed on it.

My three-year-old disagrees. He's been playing with it as a spaceman's helmet in his room for over an hour now. I haven't heard a peep from him.

  • Devastatingly good--I want this to go viral!!!

  • Jeremy Irons does a great Alexander Scourby voice.

  • wait.. 1:46 mom wiping child's ass...

  • And that is why I recycle.

  • @wkunzelman1 By which I mean I reuse it. That way I never waste, and it doesn't end up in a garbage dump.

  • the serious depiction of the dangerous, voracious Teacup Yorkie still gets me every time :) Jeremy Irons is a very accomplished voice actor. I really feel he could have also been awesome as the voice of V in V for Vendetta (sorry Hugo Weaving)

  • ;_;7

  • The vid was shown on the Dutch TV yesterdaynight. Program "De nacht van de korte film." NTR. Well done!

  • 1:45 o_0

  • i love his voice so much

  • Tthe narrator of this movie is the guy who played Scar. Look it up.

  • thank goodness I recycle all my plastic bags!

  • @TonyAKA30 Recycling plastic also isn't a good choice. Like the video said, the plastic never biodegrades, and its expensive and dangerous to break down plastic to use in something else. Plastic melts easily, but it gives off toxins in the process. Only about 5% of the plastic we recycle is actually re-used in something else. But for the most part, we ship it off to another country, then it becomes their problem

  • Do you ever feel.. like a plastic bag..?

  • 1:46 = icky

  • can someone tell me what music is that?

  • Comment removed

  • Phenomenal

  • He saw the poor plastic bag being attacked, why didn't he bother to help it?

  • I think this "Lifecycle of the Plastic Bag" documentary is a wonderful production of the inherent disgust of society towards the mismanagement of waste products in our environment.

The owners of this mismanagement cycle are the citizens of the earth. The citizens of the earth invested hundreds of millions of dollars to invent the "Plastic Bag" yet invested nothing with respect to the waste management of this space age product. What a shame !

  • OH FUCK!

  • hehe..."The plastic bag"! wtg lol

  • Sweet!

  • I love this so much every time I see a plastic bag in the air I just stop what ever I am doing and I watch it like a fat kid watches cake

  • lol @ the blurred out kids butt coz they were wiping it in the park xD

  • Lol! This is awesome :D LOVE it!!! Such a creative way to create awareness! Thank u for that :)

  • This is so awesome but sad in the same way

  • LOL! take me to that island of garbage! :D

  • Ahhhh i thought plastic bags are useless... Save plastic bags from green peace...

I want my kids to see the great plastic sea one day...

  • 1:45 you see a majestic baby getting his ass wiped

  • i never nhew that i like it :3

  • Even if there is a bacteria that eats plastic it's humanity's careless behavior that forces nature into evolution... People still need to recycle... Plastic bags will become other plastic bags rather than siting in a landfill or in the ocean just waiting for a turtle to choke on it and die!

  • The ocean plastic problem is a fleeting issue that requires no human intervention to solve.

Evolution is quite amazing and has already solved the issue for us. Bacteria has already evolved the capability to eat plastic. Just google it.

  • Home to literally dozens of animals.

  • an endangered species spotted A Park Services Person!

  • this is funny but serious.you have to dispose of plastic bags carfeully or not get thime in the first place.

  • Excellent!

  • 1:45 that's too funny

  • I absolutely love it! Brilliant to say the least and Jeremy definitely has a Great Voice :-)

  • What I think of the banned on plastic bags.

    Its all Bullshit.

Paper bags is good, but you have to pay for it. Plastic bags are free.

  • @TheIxtlan Too bad ignorance isn't painful.

  • Let's think about how many plastic bags were released into the wild to film this..

  • is it called heal the bay or health ebay?

  • Brilliant!

  • damn nature you scary!

  • Fantastic!

  • that the house hippo guys voice?

  • A million years from now on a sterile planet, the lifeless planet will have a layer of petro-chemicals called 'plastic', not as bags, but by the ultimate life destroyer, tiny flakes of deadly material buried deep in the rocks, a mute testament to the idiocy of the intelligent species once living on that planet, which intelligently killed itself and it's entire ecosystem...

  • this was a really good film, just goes to show that we need to recycle more don't release bags to the wild!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • And to think that it all starts with the plastic bag being "released into the wild".

By whom, one might ask. Oh wait, it says at the end that "You can make a difference."

Since the bag didn't throw itself away, it must be you who released it into the wild.

Try recycling, folks, no matter what it is.

  • In my opinion the companies whom manufacture the plastics are the ones responsuble for "releasing into the wild"- Because they make it in the first place. They are the ones that can really make the difference.

  • @dvdberns I can understand your opinion, but the bag maker is far away when the bag is turned into litter. Recycling is an amazingly good solution from what I've read, and not just for plastic bags.

  • Hmmm, can't find the " Two times as big as Texas" garbage patch on google earth. Wonder what's wrong with our satellites?!

  • I've heard that that patch is now the size of Europe (or twice the size of Europe I'm sure anymore)

  • Holy crap a plastic bag live at night :p

  • lolz i think the garbage is larger than texas right now

  • One of natures most deadly creatures the teacup yorkie. Love that part!

  • "The yorkie's talons." Love it!

  • they showed us this video in assembly and i couldnt stop laughing :D

anyway, ya it has a point, in a funny way :P

  • I love this guy's voice.

  • @Tealflutist4 is the voice of Jeremy Irons

  • What depresses me is that I had been returning any bags to the store that I ended up with only to find that they go into the landfill and are not recycled.

  • The Majestic Plastic Bag - A Mockumentary..............meet.....History .channel

  • such a hard life

  • there should be a universal clean up year where every country sends a ship to the pacific garbage Patch, with divers and nets and whatever and clean it up. This documentary should be sent to all the Ministers of the Environment,to all ecological organizations, save the planet associations etc.

  • Would have been funnier if it wasn't so damn sad.

  • Cool video, it's both informative and entertaining - I never realized how BIG the Pacific Garbage Patch is.

This really is a BIG Problem.

  • Jeremy's Iron.

  • this comment was removed by a plastic bag.

  • best vid EVER OMG
