Uhm if this was supposed to help stop the use of plastic I don’t think it’s working. So many people in the video using plastic bags it makes me cringe!
It’s hard for us to get rid of plastic now that we use it in our everyday lives. We feel as if we need these things and if we ‘re going to keep continuing to use them I think we should try and find another alternative for bpa that is less harmful
My teacher showed this to me and my class last year. She gave us an assignment. I can't believe people littler that much. Our generation needs to do more for this enviroment.

i like this vid (today i saw it in german) its really funny but meanwhile also criticizing.. so the problem is that the small plastic particles are leading to deforminies of many seacreatures :( .. better are these bags who are made of potato starch they´re biodegradable :)
@LeukoplastS I was being sarcastic, the whole idea behind plastic was to save trees/paper, was cheaper, now they want to ban the plastic that saved the trees..
This video PROVES that the forces against the defensless plastic bag are many and cruel. We need to MOBILIZE and FIGHT the oppressors of this humble( and
usefull) creature, one of mankinds most prolific creations!!
The irony is that it's true and there is a huge garbage mass in the ocean and plastic bags choke, maim and poison thousands of sea animals. Think of all the energy it take to make these one time use. Hey people, start using canvas bags and reuse paper and what ever plastic that comes around and RECYCLE.
Wow! That really does get the point across, despite being funny! I love his "Cycle of Life" comment! LOL I'm sure that comment wasn't referencing anything else. LOL
Several popular magazines have discussed the problem but other than that the largest collection of garbage hasn't gotten media coverage. What is the solution? 1. It's got to be cleaned up! It's already larger than the US & 90ft deep. 2. Press gov'ts to force companies that produce plastics to clean it up. 3. It makes sense to make non-toxic, biodegradable plastic from Hemp & other organics instead of turning the Earth into a planetary garbage dump which grows more each day we do nothing.
@karlizinthebuilding it's background music that changes when the moment of the documentary changes to excitement or peaceful or anything. why are you asking?
the serious depiction of the dangerous, voracious Teacup Yorkie still gets me every time :) Jeremy Irons is a very accomplished voice actor. I really feel he could have also been awesome as the voice of V in V for Vendetta (sorry Hugo Weaving)
@TonyAKA30 Recycling plastic also isn't a good choice. Like the video said, the plastic never biodegrades, and its expensive and dangerous to break down plastic to use in something else. Plastic melts easily, but it gives off toxins in the process. Only about 5% of the plastic we recycle is actually re-used in something else. But for the most part, we ship it off to another country, then it becomes their problem
'thanx' to ALL you NORTH AMERICAN BAG$ Both 'young' & oLd' Who haven'T got a 'brain' between the LOT of you to 'think' about using a COTTON BAG..WTF ? WHAZZAT ?? HUH ? EH ? DUH ? and LET'S NOT 'forget' our 'friend$' oVeR the 'pond' in 'Great' Britain Who STARTED this ENTIRE MESSY PRODUCTION...

I think this "Lifecycle of the Plastic Bag" documentary is a wonderful production of the inherent disgust of society towards the mismanagement of waste products in our environment.
The owners of this mismanagement cycle are the citizens of the earth. The citizens of the earth invested hundreds of millions of dollars to invent the "Plastic Bag" yet invested nothing with respect to the waste management of this space age product. What a shame !
Even if there is a bacteria that eats plastic it's humanity's careless behavior that forces nature into evolution... People still need to recycle... Plastic bags will become other plastic bags rather than siting in a landfill or in the ocean just waiting for a turtle to choke on it and die!
A million years from now on a sterile planet, the lifeless planet will have a layer of petro-chemicals called 'plastic', not as bags, but by the ultimate life destroyer, tiny flakes of deadly material buried deep in the rocks, a mute testament to the idiocy of the intelligent species once living on that planet, which intelligently killed itself and it's entire ecosystem...
In my opinion the companies whom manufacture the plastics are the ones responsuble for "releasing into the wild"- Because they make it in the first place. They are the ones that can really make the difference.
@dvdberns I can understand your opinion, but the bag maker is far away when the bag is turned into litter. Recycling is an amazingly good solution from what I've read, and not just for plastic bags.
What depresses me is that I had been returning any bags to the store that I ended up with only to find that they go into the landfill and are not recycled.
