I understand that back-combing is bad for the condition of your hair. I read that hair is not just a smooth shaft, the surface consists of thousands of tiny cuticles that point down the hair length. To test, try pinching your figures tightly on your hair and sliding them down the length, this feels much smoother then running them in the opposite direction. Combing normally smoothes the cuticles down, back-combing ruffles them up which damages the hairs condition. (Nothing against Kandee though!)
