@whisperingvenus you can record the midi track by playing the synth, and the notes are recorded as midi notes in that midi track on the MPC. They are quantized to whatever you have chosen: 1/8th or 1/16 you get the idea.
great job, is there a way to have the MPC trigger the moog and then have the moogs outputs route back to the input of the mpc so you can sample the sound? keep up the killer tracks!
Also VCO. Nice setup. Like the sounds. Maybe a bit repetative. But i know its just a little vedio to show what some equipment can do. So i wont hold it against you. Hahaha.
to filtersweeps defense, and in somewhat agreeance with bookmarkthis, drum and bass is always going to evolve. there is no such thing as music staying in one sweet spot. You name one genre of music that hasn't evolved to other forms and taken on another identity. D&b fans will always love this form of music. I have all the d&b old skool stuff but also appreciate the new influences of rock, hip-hop, and other forms of music that have crept into d&b. that doesn't make it dead. good job VCO
Drum and bass is still huge in different parts of the world. Just because you stopped being part of scene after it stopped being trendy doesn't make it dead.
And Brittany Spears is huge in parts of the world too. I still enjoy tracks that are more musical and melodic. Funny, to say D&B was ever trendy, at least in the USA. My point is, at one time the genre was breaking new ground, and then it stopped. I'd love to hear something fresh and interesting... but it likely wont be called D&B.
There is no ground breaking music left to create unless in the form of random noise, if you dont believe in this statement or have something against what other people do why dont you go and do something yourself instead of bashing others when you yourself are a useless piece of shit.
There's endless ground breaking music to create still, if one isnt a close minded, vulgar, ignorant boi or grl... it's not as hard as one thinks if you have a PC made with in the past few years and the right software or hardware.
lol having spent the best part of my life in the music production industry I dont need you telling me the requirements to make music, how about you take heed of my statement mr clever and demonstrate some of that 'easy to make groundbreaking music' eh?
Also I think you will find that if you are limiting yourself to the digital domain, which you obviously are since you believe that all music comes from a computer then you most certainly will not be doing anything groundbreaking lol..
you think... well try to think out of the box next time. One cant make valid statements when you have no idea whom you're talking to or what you're saying, again... I've probably got 10+ years on you for producing. The guy here is tweaking some knobs over samples and maybe a virtual synth. Its dull at best. You can enjoy it, but i wont hold back criticism or praise when due. I own more analog gear than you've probably seen in a magazine. I'd never use this account to promote my music.
Analogue gear not in style... is that why it still goes up in value while most digital goes down? Love it when trolls talk about things they dont know, use vulgarities, all adds up to be as lame as this guys music. I favorited the hiphop guy talking about insulation because of how funny it is. Thanks for taking your time to care to find out who I am. Sorry, but you wont figure out it it out from my account. Seems you have too much free time.
thanks for watching my video(s). This video was just for fun, and hopefully others can enjoy watching analog gear in action. There are no samples in this video except each single drum hits that were sequenced into those patterns. Also there have never been VST's on my computer. Nor have I ever used one to this day.
Filter, I didnt write "loops", I wrote "samples" :) Funny how you write "there are no samples", while in the same sentence saying there are sampled hits. Funny how jackboi wrote to me, analogue gear went out of style, yet the Moog used here is analogue. Trolls, gotta love em. Filter, I dig your setup, I just dont care for the melody/beat/groove/samples/tones...
god, I don't know why I'm bothering man, but look, people like you are so fucking ignorant man. Didn't you learn in pre-school that everyone's different? What's ground breaking to someone may sound like random noise to another. We're all different dude. Fuck man, so naive. Grow up and read a book you useless piece of rectal fluid.

Drum n bass is just a sell out of Jungle ... man Jungle is the true dnb, then they dumbed jungle down and added some cheesy synth lines and bang it's dnb.
thanks for the comment! Yeah, I need to set it up differently. The sherman is actually rack mountable, but I need to have it within close proximity...
thanks for the comment, yeah, I have to figure out some other setup. The thing is the filterbank is rackmountable, but I need it within close proximity of the other pieces of gear so... hmmmm

did you step-sequenced it or real-time on the mpc in this video?

You have some sick gear..... Mainly meaning the moog voyager aha. I really want one of them synths but there like £2400 :(
MadeInGreatBritain 1 year ago
hey, supercool. did you do all the drum sequencing inside the MPC? I've been wondering if this breakbeat style is possible with only the MPC.
duggabax 1 year ago
it's an old video. I now have recording equipment.
filtersweeperVCO 2 years ago
can't do that sir. The camera mic just won't allow.
filtersweeperVCO 2 years ago
i can't hear any drum or bass

camera mic recording, so you don't get any of that.

Yes you can do that. I now use a mac to sequence my synths, and a audiointerface to record the tracks into cubase.
filtersweeperVCO 2 years ago
damn. that filterbank sounds wet as fuck.
pyramidheadthingy 3 years ago
Man, that looks fun, I just wish the audio was recorded with your pc directly and then sync'd with the video.. because the sound quality is too low!
JBLanteigne 3 years ago
yes that would be a good idea for sure! Unfortunately I never made this into a tune, although I like how it sounded at the time. Respect for checking

Nice.
I've got a filterbank MkII that I've never used. Might have to give it a whirl sometime soon !

so you use moog voyager for the bass? sounds great dude.

Maybe you should listen to some spor or randomer or some other really fresh drum and bass 'bookmarkthis'. Its is still very much alive and kicking.

totally agree. It's all being picked up on a small camera so the mic doesn't do anything justice. Line in is the way to go. Thanks for the comment.

Sounds really fat. Great job!
Seen from this video, maybe you could place the Sherman behind the MPC and KP. Reaching over it can be quite a hassle i noticed.
