he's been playing drums since he was 2.. He doesn't need double bass.

Gibraltar is the only way to go with drum hardware. that is what i use and I wouldn't trade them for dw or any other kind.

There's a HUGE!!!!! list of legends that use Dw....Dw makes the best stuff....If like some of these pro's say they use dw,when They've used probably tons of different brands and choose Dw and stay with it....Take their word for it!

I agree. People say nah nah DW or Pearl is the best hardware.....Gilbraltar is no good.........Well i love the stuff its beefy as and boy does it hold up. But it isnt as good as TAMA unfortunatley..

i saw his set up when they were playing in germany.... he had double bass pedal... -_- ... Yes he is very good with single one but he DOES USE double one too...

He might have been using one for fun....but He doesn't use Dp! and plus most double pedal stuff (patterns) are way different! Pillar Music was never just fast mindless speed (and lester's style isn't either) He's a gospel drummer....He's not using a double pedal in this video! LOOK CLOSER!!!!!!

i can do doubles about as fast as him. he's probably a little faster and more consistent. but that takes time you know.

elims are just as fast and just as smooth. and they have interchangable cams. i can get the feel of a 9000 or anything. thats what mine feels like now. 9000's aren't as customizable.

I all depends on the player on the pedal! but still...9000's do make you faster! I've had pro's tell me that!

and it's a money thing too. you know what i mean. pro's can get that stuff. and i have seen a lot of broken footboards on5000's and 7000's. and the foot board on the 7000 is the same exact foot board as on the 9000. once i get the money i probably will get one though. they do feel good.

yeah. i just dialed in my pedal where i dont have to try hard at all to get the doubles. and i dont have to rear the pedal board all the way back to get some resistance. i cant really explain how it works. im usin the white cam and the spring tension as low as it goes. you would think that would make it too loose and fast but it makes it thick and smooth and very responsive. which is how 9000's feel to me. its weird how that works.

I wouldn't say "mastered" hardware. They're not the best. That's purely a subjective opinion.

The pros who tel you that the PEDAL makes you faster...no, they're not real "pros", if that's the case. Smart & consistent PRACTICE makes you faster. The pedal may aid you in getting faster, but it's not the primary reason why a player gets better or faster.

BTW, in relation to the video...Lester's a beast. Anyone who has the privilege to work with him ought to feel blessed.

I agree.....it's all about Practice! But they say practicing with the dw 9000 does help improve speed...with practice of course! I should know....I've played on the 9000 I was faster and got faster from playing on it!

He's that fast!.....no lie!

He uses lots of doubles alternating bewteen his hands and feet!...He doesn't use double kick!

Yeah he's a beast lol. But i was wondering, how is he doing the double bass part from 0:15 - 0:17. If you watch his leg it kind of looks like he may be using a Duallist pedal. (not saying he is i'm just wondering).

just really fast...He uses a dw 9000 series pedal...which are built for speed so if you have a fast foot...you can pull off those doubles!

Most of this stuff is basic rudiments....doubles,singles and triplets...going bewteen his hands and feet!

aa- as if to follow "1e+a 2e+a..." but a stutter on "a". I dont know the count sylable between. lol

So its not as complicated, hes just REALLY fast. It all in muscle memory.

Yeah...it's a another hat!

It's creates like a slap sound!..it's takes ever experienced drummers to do it!

I have wondered over and over what that sound was when I heard it.

Does it damage the cymbal then if you hit it wrong?

No!~ it doesn't!

But you do have to do it just right to get that sound! but it also depends on what kind of snare your using and what cymbal your using to get a certain slap sound.

And you do have to hit it in a certain spot!
