#770 - Antec Nine Hundred (900) Case Video Review

I've had this case for 4 years now and i have to say there are quite a few downsides. For one, there's no dust filters with it and it doesn't really support them either. I had to use vacuume filters to make it fit. The side is wide open and unless you cover it with a filter, it yanks way too much dust inside. Adding hard drives is a pain in the ass too due to all the wires inside.

Honestly I think the tray on top is one of the coolest features. This case is god tier, no doubt about it.

for people thinking of buying this, dont. i would suggest a full tower case with cable management behind the motherboard tray. only thing that is good about this chassi is the cooling.

@upintheA 922 of course. If you didn't notice, it lacks a bottom psu mesh so you can put it fan pointed downward. There's also ZERO cable management in the 900. This case is VERY OLD, and very outdated compared to more modern cases that are cheaper and have much better quality

@neonzion7 Idk what kind of graphic card do you use, but that last time i checked, the most high-end graphic card for gaming is less than $500 even 3 SLI of nvidia GTX580 wouldn't cost more than $1,500. Unless if you're an animator like Pixar then video cards like nvidia quatro's would cost $2,000 to $10,000+ and those cards are not build for gaming.

@joshodst Antec will have the max graphic cards sizes on there website, and ATI will supply the dimensions for the 6970, now you go away and do the research.

Just wondering where can I buy the two front fan pieces? My Uncle gave me this case and he got it from a fire. Iv'e cleaned it up the top and back and side fans still work. But the front faceplates are gone, I have 1 hard drive holder and thats it. I need the 2 fans for the front and should work. Also the Power buttun was fried in the fire, if you know where I can replace that it would help.

Excellent review BUT U Forgot to mention/add in the rubber mat which fits into the very convenient tray, it is quite an awesome textured rubber mat indeed.

I got the Antec 182 gun metal black chassie and i will never ever exchange that one, got plenty of space and the cooling is just perfect.

i actually have a 5870 in this case, and without the fan holder, i have about a half inch of space. left over. it MIGHT barely squeeze in, but it would be VERY tight. i say screw the middle fan, just remove it. none of the heat from the 5870 goes into the case, so there is really no need for that fan anyway. without that fan, itll fit just fine.

@ZER0DIVISION Yes it would fit but extremely tight. I have an MSI N260GTX card (10 inches long) and the Antec 900 case. I you didn't know, Antec came out with the 900 2 case. I don't know if the size is different but I would check that out if I were you. What card are you getting?

sound, i sleep to fan sound easily, if i have trouble sleeping i turn on the pc, and often turn on the fan speed to high, due to getting tired, i sleep like a rock to loud fan sound 7000rpm revving zalman fan, almost like a harley but more hayabusa.

This is the best case I've ever had. The tray is very convenient for keeping flash drives, a gamepad or just loose change for pizza tips. The only thing this case needs is small external hooks to the left and right of the disc drive bay that keep wires that are connected to the top USB and firewire ports out of the way of the disc drive, but that can be installed yourself with tape and a toothpick.

This is the best case to buy for those who have heat issues. Only bad thing is the way the drive installation goes. installing hard drive is frustrating as hell but overall worth it with how much the pc stays cool.

#1 for gaming rigs but bad for those who leave it on in their bedrooms.
