I had a chance to meet the last surviving Zeigfeld Girl, Doris Eaton Travis - she still had "it" at 105. She danced (!) and sang that year, as she did from age 91, at the annual "Easter Bonnet" for "Broadway Cares".
Maude Fealy is the third woman at 24 seconds. The photograper was Bushnell of Portland. I have four pictures from that sitting in that costume. Maude was never a Zigfield girl.
Those were the days when we celebrated and revered beauty and all that was beautiful in the world and worth celebrating! Gone for now and sorely missed.

A time before desegregation. The natural law of selection does breed good genetics. These girls like most of americans before WW2 looked very healthy and well bred. Amazing how beautiful these girls were without the use of heavy makeup, deceptive camera angles.
A time long gone and it will never return.
People were healthier,smarter,harder working
and progressive. Now the corporations and the liberals have polluted everything good in America.Like wise with the slaves.
"these girls...without the use of heavy makeup..." ??? Take another look. They put makeup on silent filmstars and stage actresses of this era with putty knives!! I'm not arguing about their beauty, but there's hardly anything "natural" about it. And the lighting would take many hours to create for the average portrait photographer of today.

"That lovely world is dead forever. Replaced with vulgar perversions inflicted upon us by masters of cultural distortion.. "
There were probably plenty of people back then who thought the same thing about Ziegfeld.

It would have been nice to include their names. (Annotations - hint, hint, wink, wink, nudge, nudge.)

the simple way in which 'the girls' were photographed lets their natural spirit shine through.
if that makes any sense
