Iraq is a messed up place. U.S. intervention only made way for a new problem to arise. If we kept troops there, they might have been able to keep this from happening. Iraq is set for war between the Sunni and the Shia, the Arabs and the Kurds, and the people and government. We tried to help, but the change we got wasn't what we wanted. It started after WWII, we were fighting over Europe and the Middle East to gain power and influence, because Communism was terrible and we couldn't dare allow it to spread to the West.
We overthrew Iran's leader in 1953 and as Osama Bin Laden said "used our occupation as a spearhead to fight the muslim people"
In a sense we weren't fighting muslims, that's just the excuse used for 9/11 and it's just plain racist, we only wanted to protect our rich oil industry...

@BeautyBoyTV I don't know what span of years you're going by but I'd mention exactly what those numbers represent. Are they the percentage of acts committed, because they're certainly not the percentage of deaths attributed to the acts. And no, 1.5 billion people don't necessarily support terrorism but unfortunately huge percentages of the Arab world don't condemn these acts either and therein lies the problem.

in many muslim countries, the people have and want no education beyond the quran and they make crude, inefective improvised weapons, while america has stealth bombers, supercarriers, cruise missiles, supersonic jets, submarines and allies all over the world.
so yeah, even if 1.5 billion muslims wanted america dead, america would still win.

Muslims are radical, since only their holy book, not the bible or the tora, preach and support mass killing in the name of God, while the koran does.

I was responding to someone else who was saying how violent Islam is and how Christianity is peaceful. I do not believe that religion is inherently evil or anything: I was simply making the point that there are many cases of Christian violence. I believe that religion is actually a very good thing as it can teach good ethics and it provides guidance to many people who need it, especially children. However, religious extremism in any form is horrible.

Facts: In 2003-2004 we were losing heavily in iraq. So what we (the U.S & Co) did was implement the 'salvador option' in iraq which basically meant that we armed & trained exiled 'shiite' militia, formed death squads with them, bought them into iraq and made them fight our war against the ruling 'sunni' authority @ the time. We ignited this civil war knowing full well that thousands of innocent civilians would be massacred as a result. Google 'salvador option iraq' if you think I'm bullshitting.
