Nice lap times, 1:31 first lap and you were cut off going into 3 and totally blew 11. 1:30 L2, nice way to pick up the throttle in 5. The dud I used to crew for was turning 30's at Laguna but that was an old as DSR.

@wazzzer you guys are crazy getting so pumped up... but this dude is kinda right about the cost.. The superkart itself will cost you about 15k, and just the parts will set you back at least for the same amount per year if you want to race... and that's if you are doing all the mechanic by yourself and don't crash. In 125cc (about half as expensive as the superkarts) some drivers have a budget well over 50k, so if that's your yearly income that's certainly not goint to cut it in 250...)

If this guy was to insult everyone who can't afford to go racing, he would be insulting 98% of the population. So don't worry about it ;) Actually I live at my parents place (will move out after highschool) and they are paying for my races, but I'm aware of my luck and I would never look down on someone who can't afford it.

These are Superkarts! they have a 2 Stroke 2 Cylinder Engine(usually yamaha TZ 250 MotoGP Engine) with about 110 HP , powering a cart that only weighs about 90 Kilos ! its about the Power to weight ratio of a F1 Racing car! Topspeed is about 280 KM/H !

TZ250 is cool, I got a RD350, it's a kind of cousin to the TZ but less hp's. More reliable though, they don't wear out as fast as TZ250. ;)

There is a BRC engine for these karts that costs $18,000. The price of a kart depends on the chassis, engine, etc.

A 125 shifter kart (120 mph) is around $6000

A 4 cycle race kart (90 + mph) is around $3000

I timed about the first time crossing the start/finish line with that one lap. It was just an average or approximated to be about 1 minute, 32 seconds.

It takes some real courage to race a kart, especially around Laguna Seca, one of the world's finest race tracks. Going around a track with lots of elevation changes in a racing machine that doesn't have suspensions (or do they?) is a lot of work. I timed a lap around Laguna Seca, and this kart clears this course in 1 min, 32 seconds. That's pretty quick for racing machines like these!

Wrong, a spec (stock) z06 doesnt have a chance, the lap record for a 250 twin superkart at laguna is 1:23 and change. The record for a single is like a high 1:28 or low 1:29 I think
