be mondful that this was four years ago. She is now sixteen. She was cute and a surprise back then, ahead of the curve with tons of potential and innate talent, but she's much more together, now. While you are right, you must remember, she is (or was) 12. To even know who Ella Fitzgerald IS at that age is truly amazing. When you're first learning how to scat, it's good practice to copy the riffs of other artists to get the feel for it. Scat-improv is very difficult when you're just starting out., and Ella is the perfect example when you need to listen to good scatting. After a while, one gets a good sense of how to scat on their own, creating their own syllables, etc.
