Westjet needs to change their name to east jet because they clearly provide a better service to the east. They waded into flying to Mexico and the Carribean. What used to be a 4.5 - 5 hours flight is now 12 becuase we have to fly to *&!*&!#*&^ toronto first. Ill continue to avoid them, Ill pay to avoid sitting on the tarmack in the center of the universe...

I am from Australia and flew on Westjet from Vancouver to Prince George and back. It was a great airline !! The pilot even had his birthday on the same day that we landed so all the passengers cheered him on as the flight crew informed us. It was a great way to get to different places in Canada. Westjet - I'm right behind you and will pick you as my airline the next time I fly in Canada !!

about a month ago i was listing to the CBC and they had a call in show about airplane companies 1 guy said air Canada lost his bags and he sees his bag on the tarmac and he run to stewardess and said they lost his baggage. she said no its right there on the tarmac.
I went on westjet an they put me on the wrong plane and kept my bags in the place i was leaving so now i have nothing for 2 days and im only 15 they dont care ppl were mean

I was wrong! From now on, I will always fly Westjet, as their planes are relatively new, their service is great, and the Customer service is honestly AWESOME. They really do treat you like in this video.

Westjet runs a fine airline. I find they suit me as well as Air Canada for flights under an hour to say Calgary or Winnipeg. For longer flights though, I prefer executive class accommodation which I cannot get with Westjet. The extra room really contributes to my comfort on long flights. If Westjet offered even a few rows of 36" pitch and maybe 3/2 instead of 3/3 seating on longer routes I'd purchase that upgrade faithfully. However their business model is for one class aircraft. Quel dommage.

I just booked to Calgary from Toronto. And even though Air Canada's return fare was $2 cheaper, I chose Westjet, because they know how to have fun. As long as the pilots know how to be serious, and professional, what is the problem with a few flight safety jokes in the cabin, and a few smiles here and there?
one of the reasons westjet is so successful is because they use the same general type of aircraft eg. 737-600, 737-700 and 737-800 so they can hire one pilot to fly all their planes :D GO WESTJET
The majority of people that fly could care less about what airline they fly on, they just want the cheapest fare. Would you still fly southwest or Westjet for 200$ if another airline offered the same flight for 100$? probably not. I've flown Westjet a few times and they are quite good, but the one thing that I don't like about them is their lack of direct flights. Only 4 or 5 direct flights from YVR to YYZ daily where AC has at least 15
I felt that way previously. I would see a flight for $5 with AC and pick them and vice versa. I was involved in the delay chaos recently and I have to say I am glad that I picked westjet. My flight was cancelled in Halifax on dec 12th and I was put up in a hotel at no cost. I arrived for my rescheduled flight at 4am and I was shocked. to see so many people sleeping in the AC section - The out of town travellers for AC were not given the option of a hotel like myself who flown with West jet
I would like to say that westjet is one of the best company's that i have worked for and they do a great job making sure all there employee's are taken care of even on those cold CYYC night's where with the wind chill is -56.

The law of supply and demand is NOT a legal law, and WestJet is not legally bound by any REAL LAW to subscribe to it. I wonder what would happen if WestJet did NOT hike the prices of the last few remaining seats on its flights?
WHY? Does WestJet really think that by raising the price of those remaining seats will somehow fill the seats up whereas they would otherwise remain empty if the cost of the seats was NOT increased?
If WestJet wants to truly be different than the rest of the air carries then it should actually start to behave differently where it truly counts to the consumer...that is make it easier and cheaper to book flights.
(3) why do you increase the price of seats as a flight fills up? how and why do those seats magically become more expensive? why does WestJet expect people who book at a later date to have to pay more of the actual cost of getting me from point A to point B?

find me another airline that does everything to get all bags on even when the guests check in late. there ramp staff in CYYC and CYMM are the only bases that have TAC and we do the job better and quicker than AC and we don't leave planes on the lead in lines so that the lazy workers can have there coffee break...o wait we also work 12's not 8's
ac has never received a single cent of gov't handouts during their time restructuring in CCAA. in fact, the government does the opposite of giving handouts to AC; they require AC to have bilingual staff on all flights (even on YYC-YVR routes) and on the ground (even in YYJ, and they require AC to fly on extremely non-profitable routes. all this while WS' unilingual staff play a tape of safety instructions in french. don't hold strong opinions on things you don't understand.
Srry i forgot to reply after. But it was a great flight we got free food because they had to de-ice for 2 hours so we didnt arrive tell like 1:00. But i was a good flight in all the people were really nice they would tell us where we were when we asked.

Srry i forgot to reply after. But it was a great flight we got free food because they had to de-ice for 2 hours so we didnt arrive tell like 1:00. But i was a good flight in all the people were really nice they would tell us where we were when we asked.

Is this a video for Air Lingus?? If this is a Canadian airline, then why are we using an Irish band (whom I like) for a national airline that's NOT Irish? Just curious. There's a multitude of bands/musicians from across this country, not to mention THE WEST of Canada that could have used. Nice vid, but this WestJet is not AirLingus.

Ok seriously, you really need to loosen up a bit so the stick can fall out of your ass.. So, just because this is a Canadian airline, we HAVE to use a Canadian band in the video? Does that mean that only Canadians can fly on WestJet too? Or maybe you have to be Canadian to be an employee..OMG my American friend has been sneaking on all these years... *GASP*

(these were for Canada647).... I wasn't aware that national airlines had to use anthems strictly sung by their countrymen only.. is this a new law in advertising? If it's gotta be so patriotic, how come we don't sing O Canada before every take off!?? Maybe a little God Save the Queen on landings? Oh, sh*t...I get it...YOU'RE the one that came out with those WICKED CRAP Celine Dion- sung themes for those really bad Air Canada commericals a few years back... those worked out well....ACK.

They used Dion because she's bilingual. Name me one other bilingual singer in Canada that has anywhere near the same appeal and popularity as Dion.

Hah ahahaha haa hahah... ok...um... seriously... yer kidding, right? Why then, doesn't she sing half of the theme song in French?? HMMMMM?? If Air Canada were interested in promoting their bilingual side, then you'd think maybe they'd use Celine for that purpose, no? Not to mention, she is one of the most hated famous people in Canada. Look it up. Oh, and Celine's Air Canada theme song? It's now Hilary Clinton's campaign theme. Does Hilary speak French?

Westjet easily beats out Air Canada when it comes to flying in Canada. Great service, great crew. Best way to fly to Hawaii.

Westjet is an awesome airline especially if your a first time flyer. I fly Westjet whenever I fly within Canada. Great flights, service, friendly crew, good looking too,clean nice 737's, they are the best! I love Westjet!
