  • i bought the graphic novel and thought it was an amazing collaboration between frank and jim but im just wondering whats happening next wheres volume 2?

  • It's absolutely beyond me how anyone can like Grant Morrison's Batman more than this one.

  • why would someone dislike this? just why?

  • can you believe this guy originally started out trying to be a doctor? (or some medical profession) haha how'd he end up doing comics and becoming one of, if not, THE BEST in the whole damn industry??

  • The gap between All-Star Batman and Robin #4 and #5 was one year.

So I like how he said he was way ahead of schedule...It wasn't Jim's fault

  • such talent...has he ever done all the steps to a finished product, sketch, ink and color...doesn't matter, he's a great artist either way

  • my new God

  • Yes yes yes! Breakin up composition with blacks and whites, he knows what he's talkin about and I finally found proof for myself! And to top it all off not once did he mention anything about detail like these new kids are focused on these days.

  • I've only noticed it on two panels so far, but it took me like a full minute on each to realize that some shadows were abstract Robin "R's" as I tried to figure out how certain shadows were cast.

  • It is wrong that I own this book specifically to gaze and study each and every panel till it's emblazoned in my memory?

  • 120%, that's a motto to go by. Such an inspiration. My favorite comic book artist ever!

  • this guy is one of the best

  • Awesome work, Jim! You do such a fantastic job on all your artwork (Marvel, DC & Wildstorm). I own almost every issue of WildC.A.T.S drawn by Jim Lee, including the WildC.A.T.S/Huntsman crossover. Jim Lee is phenomenal! I can't say that enough.

  • 120% in every drawing, good shit Jim

  • *.* Me encanta tu trabajo!!!

  • legend :D

  • man, you look so NICE! i wanna meet you really badly! come to new york!! haha and i read this batman comic! it was awesome!! nice job xD

  • i drew a pic of batman and the joker its on my channel. it in the style of jim lee.

  • man i love the way he draws

  • i wish i was older because then i would probably like and read comic books and collect them and be a better drawer

  • jim lee is my favorite artist!!

  • I looked up to him so much when I was a kid during uncanny X-men 280's

  • i wish jim would seriously think about making a how to draw book, showing his techinques and stuff, and skip on nothing...

I would deffinatly buy that book, if he made one.

Jim if your ever reading this seriously, think about man, and keep up the good work

  • Living Legend Jim Lee.

  • iw want to be just like him

  • hey i love that issue

  • HA! Jim nearly made himself laugh at that "120%" stuff

  • thts the most retarded thing ive ever heard

  • allstar was amazing hows it shit u guys are assholes give me one reason why it was bad

  • first of all, it sells like two copies a yr, now as amazing as jim lee's work is, frank millers ridiculous "the goddamn batman" got really old really fast

  • i hope you mean puts out instead of selling. it puts out a couple copies a year, but it sells WELL. in fact its been said asbmar is one of dc's best selling books.

dont get me wrong the story blows, but most people, including myself that ive talked to, buy it for the art.

  • @stewma234 bad writing, but great art.

  • @stewma234

badly written but the art work was cool.

  • @stewma234 I think it's great too, but I can definitely see why people don't like it. I think it's mostly because people don't have much of a sense of humor or flexibility of interpretation when it comes to their comics, especially after everything that happened to batman in the 90s. And this Batman isn't exactly traditional, he laughs all the time, he's fairly immature, he's cruel, and, frankly, psychotic. Plus, a lot of things that happen and are said are completely ridiculous.

  • @MarlonOwnsYourCake @stewman234 What I like about it, is it takes a new look at what Batman and the things in his world would be like and how he might have to be mentally to do the things he does and it has its own sort of self-aware poking fun at traditional comic book elements and established cannon. what's possibly best aside from the places the story goes, is the fact that underneath every out-of-character action are the same deep-rooted drives and passions as what would be "true bat-north"

  • dude this is so sad, he wasted all of that good work on that crappy "All star" book! Frank Miller is over the hill! man gotta love Jims work though.

  • fruities eat wenis.

  • Jim and Scott really are fantastic together.

I have seen Jim Lee's work inked by someone else and the result was okay but not as mind blowingly fantastic.

  • I thought that when Alex Sinclair coloured Jim's pencils on Coup D'etat: Sleeper he did a very good job making it murky and moody - and that issue had a short deadline to make. Scott's colours are sometimes TOO Silver Age and flashy... we've seen it a lot of times now, something different might be enoyable.

The idea of seeing Jim coloured by either Justin Ponsor or Richard Isanove is pretty cool though, you have to admit.

  • honestly i think jim is wasting his talent with all star, hes my fav batman artist of all time but the writing is just retarted. and oddly enough its by frank miller.... which is reallly odd.

jim lee still is the best just wish he was on the regular batman title again!

  • its not as if he switched from marvel straight to dc, he left marvel for image comics thn ended at dc

  • gtfo! Jim is a legend.

  • does he work on a3 or a4

  • Wow, that page of issue 9 has been pre-planned that far back? So there must be some other reason it took 3 months for it to release.

  • i didn't like issue 9, i dont know what to say. magnificiant art by the way.

  • Yes, All Star Batman and Robin is awesomeness! number nine kicked ass.

  • All star sucked!

  • it did... but at least it had good art :)

  • Hey I'm loving All Star Batman and Robin. Thanks for the awesome!

  • awesome!

  • The man is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. What can I say? He's the Michael Jordan of the comic world.

  • Scott Williams rocks to the core.

  • I wish my finished work looked like his scribbles!

  • Page 1 with Batman vs Green Lantern looks great! Thanks for posting this.

  • Awesome stuff Jim. I only wish I could draw half as good as you. I hope you do come to Australia so I can get the chance to meet you and hopefully get a nice superman sketch to add to my collection of famous artist sketches.
