Go listen to Blue and Out of the Vain and really listen in on the drums. Then you'll find out. If not, then at least you spent your time actually listening to a real band, cause Third Eye Blind is friggen great!
I think that's a Kaoss Pad :D it's by complete coincidence that I know what that is, too, I came across one in a music shop. It's basically a touch pad with a grid of squares, and each square, depending on where it is, has a different relative effect on the sound it's processing, in this case a drum kit :) They so freaking neat.
So, this is what passes for great with regards to the Art of Drumming?
I had no idea musical illiteracy has infected so many viewers and aficionados alike.

You guys should have asked what it was like to back the worst singer in rock history.
I saw them open for the Rolling Stones nearly 10 years ago and they literally got bood off the stage.
Nothing against the drummer...but the band was terrible.
