xbox requires a sub fee, but the connectivity is pretty good for the most part. PS3 is free, but I've seen more lag in my experience.

xbox has more people with mics, but that also means there are more people to yell at you. PS3 has little to no mic activity, but the ones WITH mics are a lot more aggressive.

xbox has halo and mass effect, but PS3 has infamous, LBP, resistance and uncharted.

xbox controller requires batteries, but they can be changed. PS3 has to be charged for a while.
