I always though hope and the sun, and king and the sun were supposed to sound alike because it may have a different tone like hope and the sun is happy and really showing that you won.

while king and the sun is supposed to show how ashamed that even though he tried so hard he still could defeat kirby, but his waddle dees still stay around him. Plus the roads are very similar.

I guess that the friends and sun version is a happy version while the king dedede's version is a sad version idk I guess is my opinion but both are awesome!! love it thanks

Each one is meant to give a certain feeling.

Hope and Sun, also called Friends and Sun, means to evoke a triumphant outcome over the mysterious swordsman as the heroes ride off into the sunset.

The King and the Sun is meant to invoke the more emotional side to Dedede as he takes a walk of shame into the sunset. However, the Waddle Dees slowly gather around the king, showing they're still loyal as ever.

That is absolutely true.

Friends and the sun shows the halberd crashing, and then kirby and wheelie ride off by the sunset, knowing that they were succesful in stopping metaknight from horribly ruling dreamland.

The king and the sun shows how Dedede was shamed by kirby twice, and how he sees that he will never give up trying to beat kirby, but he will also never succeed. Atleast his servants remain loyal. (i wrote lyrics to this tune)

I'm really tired of people saying Meta-Knight wants to rule dreamland "horribly". In the original Japaneese to American translation he says something like "Dreamland, filled with corruption, shall be changed by my hand" and other things he says are really different too. I would also like to add the fact that his minions never abandoned him and wanted to fight to the end with him proving he is a good leader.

That is true, but I've always classified Metaknight as the type of "villain" (in this one game, anyway) who is of the opinion that other people just aren't intelligent enough to properly care for themselves (One example might be how people in the world of Death Note regard Kira). Considering that Dedede is king, and his past actions, both corruption and lack of intelligence could be legitimate inferences of his character.
