it was real at least I can see it from the 9th story on down 0:32. No Wires, no gimmick. You can see as he jumps down to the ground he runs forward and turns 180 degrees and back. After the dialog, Yuen Biao takes him and walks him the other way.

4 all u jackie chan fans out there, jackie really did do dis stunt without wires. i watched the making of rob b hood and sure he used da wire, but it turns out dat was only a practice stunt 2 help jackie get in shape 2 do da real thang on his own without assistance. after da practice stunt, he did da actual stunt without wires twice, because yuen biao keeps messi' up his lines.

He used the wires only for protection in case he slipped. The wires didn't help make the stunt any easier. Just prevented him from dying if he slipped or something.

Sorry folks but Jackie absolutely used a wire for this stunt. He's being using wires for pretty much all of his stunts since about 1997. He's 54 years old for crying out loud. He's not going to risk serious injury at this point in his life. But he's still the man!

If you have seen the commentary version of this movie, you'll find out that this is a real stunt where Jackie actually is jumping off , without wires, the A/Cs (which were reinforced to support his weight). During the filming, Jackie had to do it twice because the Inspector messed up his lines.

In the retake at the end of the movie, he wasn't wear any strings because they were taken off by computers. but just watch the youtube videos on making of the movie. Still a great feat, that's why Jackie's the best!
