  • may I respond? ha ha.. an all female school! that would be awesome,

  • As for traditions, those can be fun :3 As long as they're not harmful or unfit to the current society in any way :P Our school has some old, random traditions too - the songs, ceremonies, cheering after touchdowns; I'm sure other schools do too ^_^ It's got a lot to do with school spirit and pride - just good ways to how them ^_^

  • @Anchiel we have traditions like everyone in your class climbing in this one fountain on move-in day [at the same time] & then whenever you get engaged, your friends throw you in the same fountain. there's no housing sororities so we have big sis/little sis across the campus between juniors & freshmen. then we have our class rings that have their own tradition. =] & there's more, but they're not as distinguished.

    -maggie.

  • @macmarge See? Random and fun XD The big sis/little sis arrangement would be very useful ^_^ One of the traditions at our uni is to have the applied science juniors attempt to retrieve a hat from an.. oh, 18 foot, completely greased-up pole erected in a slippery pit... There's also purple body paint for them - they really do get the rough treatment during orientation xD

  • @Anchiel bahahahahahahah. xDD

    that makes NO sense.

    -maggie.

  • @macmarge Sure it does! They're engineers, it's a logistics problem XD And I'm sure the body paint is a practice in the relative strengths of various removal solvents or something xD

  • No! How could that person not know Dr.Horrible?!

Sorry, noticed a comment below :P Anyhow, I wrote a little bit on Phil's video, but the response was aimed mostly to you, and I didn't think you'd see it, so..

Single gender institutions are totally fine - it's just another option available to people out there. Some people feel more comfortable in schools like that, some study or concentrate better - as long as you feel it's the bet option for you, it's fine ^_^

  • Congrats on getting your question featured by Philip DeFranco!

  • Is this 1985?

  • haha sick

  • Love the penguins <3 <3 <3 !!!

  • well if you would allow me to say a thing or too. i teach at a single gender secondary school and i get where your coming from yes most of the young boys i teach are not gay what so ever but having a strick all boys millitary school to me is nice keeps your mind on your studies i dont quite know how university is any different i mean do you find that you keep your mind on your studies more? and i mean simmons college is a sister college to some others but its in a city and girls attend there too

  • @Irishmobsta008 I don't know if not having men on campus helps me stay focused, but I assume it does.

We have very good professors at my college that keep you engaged and it's not as if we attend a convent or isolation bin of a university. Most of us came to my college by our own choice. Socially, we're in a college town with 5 other colleges so it's not as uptight as one might assume. =]

But we do hold on to some old fashioned traditions just for the sake of it being tradition.

    -maggie.

  • @macmarge so there i think you answered your own question you went there thru your own will.. so no not weird, i mean your getting the same education that you would any where else yea? but i respect you for going to an all girls school your focused on your dreams and i assume you know what you want in life so no your not weird its 4 years out of life so enjoy it.. -Seán.

  • You had me at Dr. Horrible reference. Subscribed.

  • Go where ever you can get the best education.

You get a FIVE star thumbs up for the stuff on your lamp.

  • Super cute! and good job getting Phil to answer your question!

  • @macmarge Did you hear they might make a new Dr.Horrible?

  • @matthewhoth !!!!!

    Don't play with my heart!

    Are you serious?!

    -maggie.

  • @macmarge I promise :) Google "Dr.Horrible Sequel" and check out the first two links.

  • @matthewhoth So there is!!

    SO MUCH EXCITEMENT! :DD

    -maggie.

  • @matthewhoth 1) the fuck is dr. horrible?!?!?!?!? and 2) when did this even come out?

  • @mindmaster323 look it up on netflix or hulu.

it came out a few years ago. =]

    -maggie.

  • Which college do you attend?

  • @JacquiRose92 although if you creep on the internet you can find out no problem,

i'm not one to say outright because it's so small.

you find the college, you find me. sorry!

    -maggie.

  • @macmarge Thats okay, I was just wondering because I am going to one also next year! I just wanted to know if it was the same one, or how you liked it. I hope you are enjoying college! and if you could give me any pointers on going to an all girls university, that would be great!

  • NO PENIS 4 U!!@#!@#

  • I'm sorry but you are rly cute

  • what is that in the background? YOU COLLECT PENGUINS? I ALSO COLLECT PENGUINS! YOU ARE NOW MY FAVORITE PERSON!

  • @p0kingthepenguin i do!

haven't been actively getting them for a while,

    but i've always collected penguins!

there's so many more on the wall behind the camera. =]]

    -maggie.

  • @macmarge that's so awesome! i've never met anyone who is as obsessed with penguins as i am, haha.

  • Two things:

    - I went to an all-boys school for about 9 years. I'm still straight, but my interactions with girls nowadays kinda suck lol

    - You're cute. /subbed

  • I like your question.(:

I think it;s okay, but the child has to like it there for if the parent is forcing there child to go to a all boy;s/all girls school, is when it crosses the line.(: I bet it;s not for everyone but some people might work better in the environmental place.(: Glad i found you.(:

  • I went to an all girls high school, and I think it was the best thing ever. Of course it's not going to be like this everywhere, but at my school drama was at a minimum and girls weren't very catty, and I think that was because of the lack of boys. Of course, this probably makes a bigger difference in high school than it would in college, but I can't really judge that, seeing as I haven't quite gotten to college yet. ;)

Anyway, that's what I had to say. I love single-sex education.

  • I spent a year in a boarding school, and although it's for both genders, boys were in different zones / dorms from girls. It was horrible, and i cant imagine how it would be if it was entirely a boys only school.

  • I don't think I could go to a single gender institution. It would seem like you would always be missing an entire perspective in classes.

  • I went to an all-boys school, but it didn't change me much. Maybe it's because I grew up around women at home, and boys at school. You didn't really ask for it, but that's my input. :P

  • @YusufAlaseeri I guess I'm in a similar situation.

I grew up with two older brothers & I've been told by professors that I seem masculine next to my prissy, gossipy classmates. =P

    -maggie.

  • My friend is taking me to see a high school version of Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog for my birthday :)

  • @CurtoMerrs nowhere in my town is awesome enough to do that!

    i wanna come too!! =]

    -maggie.
