No no, it's not a live or die situation. You can always turn it off after rebooting too. It's just that if 3g is on then it takes quite a while to recognise sim.

Yes, Ultrasnow will do its job. Just make sure that the Iphone that you get is running on 3.0 or 3.0.1 versions having baseband 04:26:08. And sim card that you will be using should be a GSM network sim card. And as far as 3g connection is concerned, You have to check with your Network service Provider if you have a data plan on the sim card number you will be using. You need to have this data plan to get your 3g connection working. In United States it is $30 a month. You will have to see in UK.

hi, I have just jailbroken my iphone 3g (running on OS 3.0.1) using red snow and i have installed ultra snow at ur specified cydia source. I have also turned off 3g before i reboot but it just doesn't recognise my network. I tried toggling to airplane mode but it doesn't work too. Please help!

Ok friend, first thing if u have AT&T as your service provider and u unlock your iPhone then AT&T or Apple is not going to track the phone. And second thing again if u have AT&T as your service provider then it is compuloaory to have $30 data plan with them to use iPhone. If u tell them that u have iPhone so you need to have 30dollar plan with it. U cannot have 10 dollar plan with AT&T because this is the condition when u buy iPhone.

Simply plug in your iPhone to your computer and open iTunes. When u see your iPhone in iTunes there press "update" button , It will pop up a message that download and install now , press that and u will be updated from 2.0.1 to 3.0.1

Well I borrowed my friends sim card to download the ultra snow and it won't even register his AT&T sim card. Any suggestions? I can understand the phone not seeing a tmobile sim card but an at&t??

wow ! This is even more interesting. Ok try this, Leave his sim inside and again restore your iphone to 3.0 Firmware, by putting your Iphone to DFU mode. When it opens up Itunes should ask for registering this phone as a new phone, so complete registration process and It should open up your Iphone and then Jailbreak and unlock it through Ultrasnow. I know it is too bothering but you have to try every possiblity. Good Luck !!

Allright, the Cydia crashing problem occurs due to unwanted sources installed in Cydia that dont work anymore. To fix this there is a way when we ssh iphone to computer. and delete 'saurik' folder YOu can also restore your iphone by putting it in DFU mode and restore it from ITunes, then Jailbreak it again. And you will be all set. But this time when you are done jailbreaking and you have Cydia on your Iphone, so please Install 'steffwiz' source from Cydia and then 'All sources'.

Allright, connect your iPhone to iTunes and update to 3.0. After it has 3.0 on your iPhone, it will become locked and won't open because u don't have a valid sim. Please borrow your friend AT&T sim card just for one minute, insert it in your iPhone and connect to iTunes. iTunes will recognize sim and iPhone will open up. Then give back the sim card, don't put ur sim in yet. Then, jailbreak your iPhone with Redsnow and unlock it with ultransnow. Put sim in now, boot iPhone. Done.

just out of curiosity. when i download the new 3.0 firmware. i need to connect my iphone to the computer while it is downloading (this updates my iphone). my iphone is already jailbroken using the 2.2 firmware. sooooo will this affect my iphone in any way if im downloading 3.0 firmware and connected to my computer?

Dont worry 'anonymoushumps27' You can go ahead update your iphone 3g to 3.0 firmware from Itunes. Then You can use Redsnow to Jailbreak it. Then from Cydia you can download Ultrasnow and install it to Unlock your iphone. You wont need turbo sim anymore. And it will not send your iphone in recovery mode permanently, It will be just fine. When u install ultrasnow, you have to turn off 3g and then reboot your iPhone. It might not work just simply by switching it on airplane mode, but there is no harm in trying it. If it doesnot work then reboot your iPhone and leave it for 2 minutes, it should show up your network name. No need to take out your sim card, it's not important.

Yes It does. When you go to cydia. Go to selections, then go to hackulous folder. Open the folder and on top you will see "App sync for 3.0". Install this and reboot and u will be back in business

Yes it will work, with iPhone 3gS, but first we r still waiting for Jailbreaking iPhone 3gs. Once it is jailbroken, u can definitely use Ultrasnow to unlock the network.

Skatekc, please make sure that ultrasnow source is fully installed. Try to reinstall it. Reboot ur device. Turn on/off your iPhone Airplane mode. Wait for few seconds. Hopefully this resolves the issue. If not please check your service provider too. Thanks
