Why do that when you are about 10 times its height, 50 times its mass, and 1000 times more intelligent? All you'd have to do is flare up and make yourself appear vicious and angry, and move in towards it. I know very little about monkey psychology, but I think it'd probably get the idea and run off. Once the food was taken, it was too late I bet... Getting it off of the monkey might be hard, but taking measures before it took the food would have sufficed I think (experience w/ other animals)

@tarkinfish according to my sister, the monkeys in South Africa are only afraid of men, because they know that women generally have children and will protect them by giving them what they want. So even when her and her friends tried to puff themselves up and be aggressive, the monkeys would charge them. But really I think any intelligent person would not want to feed a monkey. Oh that is garreat! So ruthless! I've been there and the monkeys are aggressive! One friend I was with was getting really close to one and it swung at him! Then an older Chinese friend told this garreat story I totally need to post about this monkey who tried to steal her bag and she was trying to reason with it, like, give me my bag back..so funny! She got it back I think by the way. But yeah, gotta be careful around these creatures.
