If you have PCOS, which I do, you most likely are either sensitive to gluten or you have celiac disease. I have celiac disease and for about 20 years my only symptoms were PCOS and infertility. Get tested for celiac disease- that is the cure.
changing your lifestyle helps a lot..i.e. eating low GI food, lots of veggies and some fruit.stay away from white flour and sugar! The main cause for pcos is insulin resistance, so check if you have that.a great supplement is inositol, which is also found in some vegetables but we are often too careless to eat healthy so this works fine..also take a good natural source multivitamin; vitex, licorice, dong quai can lower androgen lvls, while dandelion clears the liver.
s and was suffering from facial hair. but now m mom( from india) send me a lotion and it realy help me to cure from that hair. n for cyst i use apple cider vinger 2 times a day. its realy help me. i was also suffering from d same prob so know ur pain. thats y give u a msg hope it ll help u:)
I really do appreciate you uploading this video... so my girlfriend told me she has pcos and I just thought it was something that diet and exercise and good rest would cure and i hope it does, however tonight she told me to research this pcos and i came across this video which gives me a more serious perspective on what she is going through, so thanks for the vid
(c) but I am trying to overcome that as well. I feel that if I were able to walk again, I would lose the weight much easier. I am on Spironolactone and Zarah for the hair, but it's only slowing it down as far as growing goes. Anyway...I hope everyone else with this disease is dealing with it better than I am. :)
I have PCOS and I have extreme hair problem. I grow it all over the sides of my face, neck, chin, and upper lip. And that's just on my face. I also grow it on my chest, stomach, back, and shoulders. It's effected so much of my life. I don't even leave the house most of the time and have to shave daily. I am also REALLY overweight but I am trying to lose it. It's just really hard...the worst part is, is that due to an operation 9 years ago due to my cerebral palsy, I can' no longer walk (c)
My docotors said the same to me. IT was making my mom so pissed that they wouldnt actually try to help or give us clear answers. Both my mom and aunt are nurses and told the doctor that they felt I had PCOS and they never listened. So my mom finally put her foot down, bitched to the doctors, and i turned out my mom and aunt were right and i have it. I am currently trying to lose the weight and im glad to FINALLY know why im hairy and so over weight.
@brookemirage95 They are doing that to me right now! but I'm jealous of the people in the UK because there they would probably get free help and maybe even free laser...but here, I can't because it costs so much. Also, everything that Boxtop 213 said about her symptoms are all I have and I'm having to drop classes in college because I'll sometimes double-over because the pain is random with the dizziness and headaches and fatigue :( I also just got my period after not havng it for 5-6 months :(
can last for days. and up until yesturday i genuinely believed it was all just in my head because i was always told there was nothing wrong with me. its so important that people get checked out, and really push for PCOS to be considered. Really wish id been told i definately had it as a teen rather than 'might' so i havent spent the last how ever many years doubting myself!
, irregular periods, im overweight, have a hairy chin, get really itchy, dry skin etc and in the last 6months or so have had horrible headaches and dizzy spells. all the times ive been they told me i had a 'bulky whom' although i only got sent for a scan in the last two months. yesturday i was confirmed as having PCOS. me and my partner havent been having sex because of how muych pain im in after, which
Hi Jennifer, thanks for posting this. I was told I might have PCOS as a teenager when I was having really irregular periods amongst a few other trivial symptoms. However, at 19 I concieved a child unexpectantly and so I assumed I didn't have it. Four years and another child later, I've been back and forth to the dr with huge pelvic pain, infection after infection....
Got diagnosed with pcos yes2day.. revenue making crap! Unless you look like a monkey with bald spot on head, and pimples all over your butt, I wouldn't even use this pcos as an excuse to feel sorry for myself... unless my clitoris starts looking like a dick. Another label for trivial shit. Can only put weight on from eating. I've always had irregular periods, good! Have 2 naturally conceived babies. Put muscle on easy and look good, love it!! Thank you god for giving me pcos!
There has been some research on using a low carb diet to control the insulin levers in women with poly ovarian syndrome. It was a small study, but did have good results. Two of the women who were having fertility problems became pregnant.
My periods stopped in '85 and started again in '86. I was referred to a gynacologist. I was told to lose weight. I lost 2 stone, I was then told it was because I was on a diet. I developed hair on my chin and was told "some women are naturally more hairy than others". I was told to on the pill. In 1999 I was advised to have a hysterectomy. It was then that they found I had cancer, which had spread to my womb. I was 36. All the symptoms were there in 1985, but nothing was done.
I was told by 2/3 diff Drs I had cysts on my ovaries and this was like 18 years ago. Thousands of women die each year from ovarian cancer! I haven't been to the Drs in 2 years because Drs are ignorant and cruel hearted. I am in massive pain every time I get my period. I hope you are okay.... Listening to you I now feel better in a sense. I hope it isn't too late for me :(
@BaLiCeInWoNdErLaNd Well don't have a male doctor...most men doctors don't really understand...this happened to my cousin...3 male doctors and they just put her on birth control and "made" comments that "u have lots of hair" and looked puzzled. ....she goes to a woman doctor 4th doctor in...tells her its pcos, and finds good specialists, and listens etc.. cause only a woman knows a woman! a woman knows because she has lived life as a woman...a man only goes by books!
I think I may have PCOS. I have all of the symptoms except that I have 3 children. Is this possible? could it happen that I have it and still have babies?
I had an ultra sound years ago after I had my second child because I was having all the symptoms along with lethargy and full body pain. At my whits end I begged the sonographer to tell me if she saw any thing....
she said off the record that she thought I had PCOS. But when I got my results fron the consultant he said my scan was clear.
@LittletinyJo it is possible. I have three children myself. I saw many doctors who couldn't figure out what I had because it is rare for PCOS to have children, however I did have some miscariages. If they said you are clear keep going back every six months because I had the same thing and they said no you are fine, then one day they said Hey you have PCOS there is something wrong with you. Which made me mad they let it go so long when I kept saying something is not right.
Just sharing few ideas here based on experience. I have PCO. Am fine thanks God. I also have friends who had PCO but still managed to get pregnant with early diagnosis and thorough treatment. So it depends. It's not always very bad for as long as you are early diagnosed. Just religiously follow the doctor's advise and meds to treat it. Side effects of meds are just mild. Also you need to relax because if you worry a lot your system follows. If Be strong, there is always hope for PCO.
I make videos here on youtube that are pcos related and I don't know if you'd be interested but you would totally make my day if you checked it out! :)
I was kinda diagnosed a couple days ago. My doctors didn't do specific tests to determine it but they said looking at my sympotms and one blood test they did a few months ago that I have PCOS. I'd lost a lot of weight a year ago but recently gained it back extremely quickly while still eating healthy and exercising. I also didn't have my period for close to 9 months. Those were the main signs. It's kind of scary knowing that I have PCOS now.
Just got diagnosed, ultra sound came back okay, and not diabetic or pre diabetic, but I have elevated DHEAS levels. Only been given birth control to treat. Not sure what I'm supposed to do when I want to start trying to conceive... it feels really lonely having PCOS no one really understands what I'm going through.
You are telling my story too. I don't understand why Dr's overlook such a common illness. I am so sorry that you are having issues now hope all is well. I started having signs when I was 17 but was only just diagnosed at 23. I went to OBGYN's, endocrinologists and gp's. The endocrinologist put me on steroids haha what a joke. Luckily I have a great Dr now but my levels are now at an all time high.
I think I have PCOS and I don't know what to do,I am in depression for so many years, I observed hair growing on my neck and chest and I was surprised because my brother is 7 years older than me and he has little hair, doesn't have beard. I am slim but I have a little belly,I don't have energy,my period is irregular at 2 months or 1 and a half.My parents think that I am crazy but I am suffering a lot and nobody listens to me
he sure was right cuz i got the month after and im 26 and that has never hapeen since that time. another my is cuban she has alot facial hair on her chin and cyburns i mean she is cuban , on her arms and she don't have pcos she actually has two kids. so people go to the doctor don't assume cuz u are overweight or hairy u have pcos. so if some one get s laid of and gain 20 pounds they all of sudden have pcos. no!
some of the symptoms are a little bit tricky because example I have always got my period regular every month normal periods and when I was 22 I didn't get my period for 5 months straight I assume I was pregnant so I went to the clinic and they did me ultrasound bloodw ork urine test etc. turn my doctor ask me questions like "are u going to the gym? are u eating different? and i told him yes and he told that was the reason he also said stress is a big part to.
Diagnosed 6 mos. after birth of my first son. Dr. gave me Metformin, 3 times a day. Made me feel sick, so stopped taking it. Went to work unable to stand straight due to pain. Dr. Rx. Avandia, but lost my insurance. Had a second baby. When he reached 1 mo I had my last cycle. He's 8 mos. old. Reason I'm posting here is b/c I'm curious: can it cause permanent damage if I go untreated for an extended period of time? Anyone Know? Stressed/worried... gritsonamission@yahoo.com
@gritsonamission it can cause permanent damage. Certain things to look out for are high triglycerides, fatty liver, hypertension, and high blood sugar. Plus going without a period for longer than 3 months(not including pregnancy) can increase your risk of cancer.
If you don't want to take Avandia, I would suggest going on a low-GI diet, and exercise. Monitor your blood sugar if you can. There are also supplements that help PCOS, like DCI.
Bless you. My daughter has this. She's just 16 and has had it for going on 4 years. This often gets misdiagnosed as fibroids, etc. Imagine being a pre-teen and having a 3 month cycle, weight gain, depression, nauseous, feeling miserable all the time plus ADHD. This thing needs more attention because women suffer from it for YEARS, mostly due to misdiagnosis.
hey i am nearly 18 and i have been diagnosed with the syndrome i have not had my periods for 5 years its terrible i feel so fat and useless i am on yasmin tablets now for the hormone to try and help it i was told i was very young to have it and they dont understand at all but i assure you youll be fine just get diagnosed and take it from there dont be scared always be happy and keep smiling life gets better even with syndrome xxxx
I think I may have PCO. I never have been diagnosed with it but I have some of the symptoms such as irregular periods and discoloration of the skin. I am scared to death to walk into a clinic and have them tell me I have it I would be totally devistated! I want to believe that l am healthy. I want to belive so badly that I dont have this desease and that its just probaby something else thats not near it but as im reasearching this l believe deep down that i do have it. Im terrified! :''(
I have PCOS and i am taking Insulite and it is great!!! I feel better and have a normal period>>>>> not to mention less hair growth and serious weight lost!!! Its awesome there is hope!!!
every day with his diabetes. i'm so afraid that this PCOS is going to cause me bigger health issues in the future. if you know of anything i could do to help with all of this please let me know. it'd b great to have someone to talk to.
i'm only 19 and i've been dealing with this since i was about 16. i don't wish this upon anyone.
p.s. sorry this was so long. i just had so much i needed to get out. lol.
i absolutely hate this. i wish there was a cure for it. something that could make everything ok again. the thing that i'm most concerned about is my weight. i'm overweight and i've been trying so hard for so long to get the extra weight off, but it seems like i'm only gaining weight. i want it gone not only cuz it'll make me feel better, but for health reasons. my family has a big issue with diabetes and i don't want that happening to me. i see what my dad goes through (con't in next msg)
would i have lived a better life? u kno, just stuff like that. when i was first diagnosed with it i had no clue what it was or what it did to my body. but as time goes on i'm seeing the effects now. it's gotten really bad in the past 6 months or so. i've been having trouble sleeping at nite, and it feels like i'm constantly tired. i have bad acne that no matter what i use i can't get rid of. i get depressed for no reason sometimes. extra hair in places i don't want it. (con't in next msg)
i too have PCOS. i was diagnosed a few years ago it was probably about 3 years ago. it's so hard living with this. you are absolutely rite when u say that people don't understand the pain it causes. not just physical pain but emotional and mental pain too. everyday i look at myself in the mirror and think "y was i cursed with this, y can't i just be normal for once." i wonder everyday what it would be like if i didn't have this. would i be happier? (con't in next msg)
I just wanted to say im happy im not alone and i did the whole birth control everything and still i feel lost i dont know if i should do this treatment of not im almost 30 years old i want kidz but pcos dose not help so if there anyone out there that has an idea or something please write back ty
I have PCOS and i'm actually underweight right now...
In a study, A group of female rats had estrogen shots.. All of them got bad cysts on their ovaries except for the rats who had their thymus gland taken out. There was also a study in Greece DIRECTLY linking PCOS to AGE's in our diets.
We're eating synthetic sugars, bromide and mutated proteins and washing it down with fluoride and percholates-then being bombarded with xeno-estrogens.
insulin resistance is metabolic X syndrome, partly caused by thyroid issues which DOES lead to diabetes. Also along with the rest of the population, we're deficient in Vitamin D and Iodine. Vit D prevents diabetes. We're also eating krap like High fructose corn syrup that triggers diabetes and high triglyceride. We're also being invaded by iodine blockers, ie. bromide in bread, fluoride and percholates in water that block iodine absorbtion by thyroid gland.
here's the trick to getting your glucose and triglycerides down without statins or metformin. Get off the high fructose corn syrup, or "corn syrup". Get that junk entirely out of your diet, it will also make it easier to lose weight. I did it, it really helped.
I was diagnosed with pcos about 5 months ago, basically the doctor told me i have this syndrome and then left me to get on with it. I'm always tired, get regular headaches, i have developed acne, my body aches, my periods are irregular, i have pains in my belly and it just constantly feels like i'm unwell. I have been to the doctors numerous times and it feels like i'm pestering them and wasting there time, but they don't seem to be doing anything about my symptoms. :(
The actual treatment for PCOS is not metformin or hormonal drugs. Those drugs are just for the symptoms.
based on the newest research, many doctors said that reducing your weight can be very helpful and also regular medium-rate sports like 30-minute walking 3-5 times a day. Changing lifestyles is more important and curing than taking drugs, because metformin has several side effects that mimic the symptoms of PCOS so sometimes patients think that this drug don't do any good.
it's not enough. I'm underweight and I have PCOS. It's either caused by thyroid issues or inflammatory issues. :-)
like a version of auto-immune disorder plus xenoestrogens. I'm a long distance runner and I have watched what I ate for 10 years and I still come down with these cysts.
hello. metformin is actually a drug for diabetes, because one of the symptoms of PCOS is high level of glucose in blood. actually it can cause many things that you implied here including panic attacks and other things. it's like having PMS for your whole life.
Actually PCOS is the last thing doctor may diagnose before rule out all other differential diagnosis. so it's true sometimes doctor can take quite a long time just to diagnose this disease.
just been dignosed with pcos and my hospital said there is nothing they can do with with they just given me tramidol painkillers im in so much pain with it i dont really know what this is syndrome is still reachering it ... i am slighttly over weight but its really painfull just a bit annoyed that my doctor wont do anything about it what else can i do.
My baby sister has that. My ex I believe she has it but she never went to get it checked but from what I'VE seen while I was with her she don't eat like I eat so its not her eating that makes her overweight. She bleeds like crazy when she does start.
You must keep in mind that according to the AMA only 40% of the allopathic diagnoses are correct, this means that 60% of the time doctors are wrong. One major reason for this is that they depend on machines to diagnose. So if the machine does not see anything - then you have nothing - regardless of how shitty you feel. Also since they can't diagnose feelings - they'll send you to a psychiatrist - who by the way 100% of all his diagnosis are wrong or can not be proven.
@msgodschild86: Have you tried to clean out your system? FIbroid, PCO and even cravings are most of the time due to waste build up within the body's sysytem.
i have it and i take pills for it i worry every single day about wether i can have kids or not....my mom doesnt really realize how stressed and worried i am about it and idk what to do or what to say to get more help/info
This is what I am going through now. I'm 15. I have a family history of this and an even longer history with diabetes. Now my hair is falling out. I haven't had a period in 7 or 8 months... I don't know what I'm going to do. No one is taking me seriously.
@MelieeBird15 helo meliee, not having period in 7-8 months is kinda scary, right. well, i've been there. so just relax first. maybe you could take Yasmine pill for max 3 months. if it doesnt work you definitely have to see the doctor :)
Doctors tell me I am showing the signs of early menopause, which is horrifying because I hope to one day bare my own children. I understand the pain you feel and what you are going through. Not only the physical pain but the emotional. My thoughts and prayers are with you...
Jennifer, I have been down the same road as you. I was diagnosed with PCOS May 6th, 2006 at the age of 16. Now at the age of 20, I have tried metformin, yasmin, and several other hormonal supportive drugs which none of them have helped. I havent had my period in a year and a half.
Aside from weight issues, PCOS women come in all shapes & forms, which does not necessarily preclude you from conceiving...it is important to remember, you cannot be on clomid, metformin or bcp without proper diagnosis & proper monitoring so that you follow the correct treatment path. Not all PCOS sufferers are insulin resistant. You need to be followed by a competent health care provider in order to beat this distressing disorder...good luck!
I've got PCOS too, I'm also pre-diabetic. I was diagnosed with it three years ago. I take metformin 1000mg twice a day and it seems to be under control. Good luck to you!
i loved ur vid can def relate really hits home w/ me. i go through the same thing have had pcos for 8 yrs now it sucks. some days i just cry i just started taking maca and am slowly trying to do a raw diet. i hope to god this helps. i have heard great thigns about those 2 things. my moods are horrible too. cry alot, goin to endo again tomorro sometimes i wonder if iam just wasting my time goin to all these drs ughhhhhhhh hang in there and i will do the same would love to talk to u

I have PCOS too, I've had it since I was little but never did anything about it, I have a hard problem with hair, a specialist I go to has helped me a lot.I didn't get treated till like three years ago, I noticed that you said you took Metformin and yazmin, well I was taking the same, the Metformin was giving me headaches too and nausea so I stopped taking it completely. And I lost my gallbladder because of the Yazmin. :( I am now 16 it is so hard, and self esteem breaking.

@animechowsee - yes this is what i mean about side effects.. people seem to get angry when you offer alternatives.. maybe they have something invested in being sick and complaining about it. .and saying there is no cure, im doomed..! all very childish and lacking in self responsibility if u ask me... im glad i never went on those drugs which had those devastating side effects.. guess now u know.. it was the pill that has caused these complications for me in the first place.. !
i have pcos and i am 17 i have been on 6bc since finding out i have pcos....but i had to stop because like you it made me feel bad pcos plays a big part n my life also body and mind wise.... PCOS IN ME causes no m-cycle ,,,tummy sticking out ,,,water weight,,,, bad feeling from hor,,,weight from tummy down,,,,,,alot of hair in places that are not needed,,,no sex drive any more,,,darking of neck inner leg....voice deeping...PCOS is killing my young body
Hey girl, i am 17 also.. and i have so many of the symptoms too. i hate it so bad. i dont like bein close to ppl cuz they will see the hair on my face. it's good to know that there are more ppl out there that go through the same thing.
@Musique4DaSoul yea i shave every couple of days...its more painful to see family or friends that i have not seen in a while because they say things like u have gain weight or are u haven a baby..they dont know that pcos makes my tummy stick out and is most times painful.....are u taking any meds?
I have 2 groups on facebook.. Please come join us..You are not alone in this.. Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome and trying to get pregnant. But no Fargin Luck. and Part 2 Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome.Everyone is welcomed.. Hear other stories and other treatments from many different people..
I am dealing with pcos as well and it has taken a tole on mu life. I was on metformin and yasmin and the yasmin caused me to get gall stones and then I wound up having my gallbladder taken out. I am trying to have a baby but with the pcos it is very very difficult. So thank you for posting this video. And hopefully it will help other pcos sufferers.
I have pretty much all the symptoms of PCOS, i've had blood tests done aswell and my doc says i have it. The main reason i'm so annoyed i have this is because it gives me acne, i'm taking roaccutane for that at the minute and also Dianette but its not working so good because i'm still producing far too many hormones and testosterone, i'm going to start a strict low sugar/none sugar diet and fingers crossed this will help
Wow this is a really hard disease to deal with :/,im 13 and i think i may ahve this...but id rather keep my mouth shut since my parents say i "worryy" to much whenever i bring it up,but i have ALOT of the symptoms,..like basically all of them except for the big weight gain...
@DanikaJadeee I would definitely tell them! I am a lot like you in that I have all symptoms but weight gain (it's easy for me to gain weight so I have to watch what I eat), and noticed it when I was 13. I got shifted from doctor to doctor for years and have finally been diagnosed at age 18. My doctors are still working out a treatment regimen though....good luck!
i would just like to say i totally agree, i mean im 14 but i was the one who said i have pcos loads of tests were done but the doctors said it was because i'm a teenager, but turns out i do have it. but thank you for posting this, i now realise i'm not the only one with this!
Hey im not sure if i do have PCOS but my GP has sent me for a scan and im really worried that i may have it as i am Vastly overwieght and find it hard to loose weight even if i go on diets and do alot of exercise. PCOS is due to excess insulin. Low carb dieting, with lots of omega 3s, wild game and lean meat, non starchy veg, similar to atkins diet but without the dairy, without lamb or beef.
I have PCOS since adolescence and now I m 30 (single), and still dont quite understand the seriousness of the problem. Some of the effects that I have been experincing through years are - painful and irregular periods (no upto 4 months), irregular sleep, oily and acne prone skin, little extra around the belly (slim otherwise), not very energetic, extra hairs in some parts of the body, strong sense of smell, have a sweet tooth. I dont know how it is going be when I'll want to start a family...
the cure for pcos is NATURAL progesterone cream.- wild yam mimics the effect of progesterone.. get yr naturopath to make some for up for u...stay away form processed foods, pesticides/herbicides mimic estrogen so must be avoided.. eat only organic.. avoid all food in plastic, exercise is very important.,., as fat raises estrogen..
Getting onto blood type and metabolic typing diet is the best way to loose weight and balance hormones..
Good to do this asap as fertility is at stake with pcos..
@SovereignBeing thanks for the tip!! i went to whole foods and purchased emerita progresterone cresm . Suppoosedly i heard that is am myth about yams with progest. Im not taking yaz and still on metformin please check out my follow video
@Boxtop213 holistic medicine is great for some....not for everyone! (NEVER worked for me, I have PCOS, AND Crohn's Disease. lol some things just don't work for some people. Everyone's body's are very different. Even with people who have the same disease or disorder as you have. Not everyone reacts the same way... God Bless You! And good luck!
@howling.s - EVERYTHING is curable.. ! u have to understand & release the mind pattern that created it in the first place.. + stop doing the things that help create this condition..i.e - Estrogen dominance.
Please DO NOT let your doctor tell u your condition is a life sentence
& that down the line you will need half your insides removed.. Do not Believe these lies..! drugs and operations are big business, use discernment, remember there are always natural alternatives, with no side effects!
@SovereignBeing do you have pcos, if you don't do not tell me its curable. THERE IS NO CURE FOR PCOS, ask anyone. you are just idiotic going around and telling people such a thing.
fyi my doctor didn't tell me shit when it came to this, she didn't even think to test me for it i was the one who asked her.
medicine for pcos are expensive, and operations are more so. an operation will not get rid of a problem it will only mask what is wrong and make it to where it cannot be controlled later on.
@howlingserenity there is no "mind pattern" that makes pcos become something real, and it is not something i made happen. it manifests on its own and woman with it have no reasonings why they got it in the first place.
you are truly stupid, estrogen is not something that you can tell with your brain to knock off whatever it is doing. you can't make an announcement to it that it is out of wack. if you believe this than i don't know what people are coming to.
@howlingserenity believe and what not to believe than you better do your god damn research. you don't know me, don't shove your comments upon me unless it is helpful. your comments are non of the sort.
if you think it is curable then send me one article that says its is. until thing there is nothing you say that would benefit people with pcos in any way. go back to your false beliefs and everyone will be better off
@howlingserenity - see i rattled you cage,, well i had pcos and i managed to cure it the natural way.. go figure.. ! enjoy your self imposed life sentence !!
@SovereignBeing no you didn't rattle any cages, your are just plain irritating. i love how people like to think of life as one big happy candy store trip. but in reality its not, and for someone who "use" to have pcos (i bet you would really like to make it reality) i would think you would be more considerate of other people, but i guess this hasn't changed. i can't believ how ignorant and naive the people of today have become. you do realize you have a life sentence also,
@howlingserenity - i speak from experience.. and evidence from before and after scans.. my methods are alternative and obviously going over your head..do u even know what causes this problem?? from your vehement denial of my posts im, guessing you are a practicing doctor ..?
@howlingserenity - it is caused by hormonal imbalance.. an excess of estrogen. which is caused by several things that mimic estrogen once in the body they are called xenoestrogens.. main causes are pesticides & herbicides in meat, fruit/veg, Plastic which leaches into food/water from packaging, the chemicals that are in all yr household cleaners & personal care prods, taking the pill&HRT, drinking tap water etc..etc - If U research symptoms of Estrogen dominance, then perhaps u will understand..
@SovereignBeing exactly, so if you know that all this makes pcos appear how can you say its preventable. i do understand and i have researched it. i just don't understand how you comment and tell me that im the one who caused myself to have it. or that someone else should avoid everything they come in contact in everyday life to prevent them from getting such a thing.
@howlingserenity - it is preventable because it is possible to avoid these things and balance your hormones.. Eat organic, use a water filter or distiller rather than bottled..use Neways products which are free of carcinogens. progesterone balances xs estrogen, exercise, energy healing and positive thought...This is how i cured myself. We have all created whatever illness we have through our mind patterns..our thoughts are v.powerful, so if u think it is incurable it will be.
@SovereignBeing yes, cause everyone knows this in the world. and what happens when you barely have money for even top ramen? what then. do we just go and "think" we don't need to eat? that may be how you "cured" yourself, but either way im not going to pretend its completly gone when it actually isn't. tell me do we create cancer through our "brain patterns"? your thinking is just a load of rubbish,
@howlingserenity - yes you are poor because you have poverty consciousness -
yr believes create your lack,
U refuse to even consider anything i say, which just illustrates that u are not ready to cure yourself, u are attached to the symptoms and the sympathy u think you require from having this problem. what we dislike about others, we dislike about ourselves, so i can see you are not too happy with your own attributes, perhaps u can start being more positive instead of crushing peoples hope.
@SovereignBeing i have considered your views, i just don't choose to go by them. i have never been attached to the symptoms or the sympathy that people try to get from others because of pcos. i have never required sympathy for anything in life and i plan to keep it that way. i am a positive person i just believe that your way of saying you completly cured pcos is complete rubbish. i never did "put you down" in any of my comments, i simply said i think your way of going about pcos as cured
@howlingserenity is complete rubbish. all i really was saying is how it has never been proved that pcos can be completly cured. just because you go about a healthier lifestyle does not always mean you will cure the sickness. take your own advice, but it seems you can only reply by pointing nonsense facts out about people.
@SovereignBeing no i am not a practising doctor, i have done my research. like i said your opinions are of no use cause they provide no useful information. i am someone who also had pcos, and no it has never been proven what causes the problems.i would like to know how i am "denying anything, just because your beliefs of pcos are different and i have no interest in taking them to heart you put a label on me as being "denial". if you speak from experience, then tell me what you think causes pcos?
@LaggardInLove WOW is strong sense of smell an issue with PCOS??? I have it and Ive always had a strong sense of smell...some smells give me an automatic headache!
both sides of my families have diabeties and i have irregular periods every since i got my period -_- i have other symptoms and i barely found out about PCOS yesterday. MY gut tells me thats what i have.
So what do you do when you don't have the money to go to the doctor, but you know you have pcos and i also have Hypothyroidism. i have been in the er 3 times in the last 4 weeks. i have kidney stones, cysts on my ovaries. i dont know what to do. because i have so many other things but embrassed to tell anyone including my boyfriend. I need some help. im scared and hurt so much.
Yes sweetie, I understand the pain. It takes over your whole life. I was recently diagnosed with pcos. Besides the common pcos symptoms, there are hundreds of other symptoms that we can be afflicted with. The numbness and tingling in hands and feet, insomnia, fatigue, body aches, anxiety and panic attacks, depression. It's like it becomes an autoimmune disorder where your body attacks itself. And yes, Dr.'s do believe that we're hypochondriacs. Thank you for sharing.
what i noticed with my new doctor is hes of younger generation, hes more assertive connecting dots, unlike those other MD,s ive been before they just totally ignored my voice and put me on birth control pills and think nothing is wrong with me told me to just just buy hair remover,i felt embarrased in a lot of ways, hesitant to find a new doc.yet i know something is wrong but no doc is willing to help, now im glad i found one who can feel my frustration and is doing something abt it.after10yrs
you need a doctor who is willing to help you figure out whats going on, even if it meansfinding a new one! , thats what i just did! he did a head to toe assessment, half way thru he's already suspecting of PCOS which i didnt know till now, he ordered blood work ,added a special progesterone and testosterone level and results came today its all pointing to PCOS , high cholesterol and testosterone level. its bitter sweet! glad i found the cause but saddened by what thiscould lead, INFERTILITY!!
For me, it is a lot of lab work. I had to go to an endocrinologist because everyone else (including gyn) just gave me pamphlets on weight loss. Call the doctor before going in to see if they are qualified to evaluate people for this condition. Ask what the testing involves. If it is just 1 test, it probably won't work. Many other conditions have similar symptoms. My dr. only draws blood at 11pm because that is when certain hormones show up.
You need an endocrinologist (Gland Doctor). It is good to find one who specializes in bariatrics (medical weight loss), as they know all the common ailments of weight gain (even if that is not one of your symptoms), and they don't waste a lot of time with tests that could not likely contribute to your condition. My dr. took blood, urine (gallons of it - literally - 4 whole days worth and one whole nights!), hair, and saliva (4 different nights).
One big problem are the physicians who are quick to write a prescription. They do not tend to look at the plethora of other conditions that one may have and that need to be woven together into a coherent diagnosis.
I also have this syndrome i got diagnosed with it when i was about 12 im 17 now and really watching my weight and exercising regularly really helps and the whole boyfriend situation is something not to worry about, you'll find someone who will understand and love you regardless, so trust me and dont worry about it :)
Im worried i have been reserching about this and its all the symptoms to it , im overweight but trying to loose weight i have facial hairr..and oily skin..all thy symptoms in the wikipeda description of this..It is freaking me out..Im 17 aswell and i just got my hormones tested please please email me and tell me what symptoms u hve or whats happed to you please.
I was diagnosed when I was 15 and I remember being really scared! But don't be afraid, you're fine. It's just about taking care of yourself, maybe you won't even need the medication! I used to have ridiculous periods that lasted for forty days, and then it would disappear for months, it was pretty painful. I also gained a lot of weight, and had some extra hair. Keep talking to others who have it, it offers a support that is matched by nothing else. :)
omg im too scared i dont have the period since two months, what is happening? i think its because lack of iron in blood, i dont have headaches, my period was always good,im pale, i feel weak, i heard depresion makes period disappear, apologise my english!
ilovemiscosas; There are a lot of things that you may have, probably not serious. It may be a lack of vitamins, not eating properly, a virus, etc. Go to the doctor, and don't panic.
yes Benjamin, thanks god i have the period last week, it took a lot of time to have it, never happened that b4, i have lack of iron in blood i though was cuz of my anemia, i was having weird pains and omg i was scared! but anyway is good to see this videos of ppl talking about this, are great
Thank you for sharing this... I struggled with this symptoms of this condition for 13 years and experienced the same explanations that she did. I was finally diagnosed with PCOS the winter of '08. I am FINALLY going to start getting treated CORRECTLY and this Wednesday I will be having both a hysteroscopy and a laproscopic ovarian cystectomy. It's SO important to ask your Dr. about this condition if you feel you show any signs of it! So much to go through and I'm only 24, blah!
i thought i wuz the only one .. :( check this out "The Everywoman Clinic ( Dr. RISHMA DHILLON PAI)"..& ur not alone.. i get irregular period.. and the doc said i dunt ovulate:( (dunt release egg every month) which is scary... cuz im married and i do wana have a child in the future,i do take birth control pill & due to tht i do get my period, then again, tht would just help me get my period but not release egg, which is sad..hopefully the doc can help me out!i pray for that. *sign
I hope that things are getting better for you. And, I agree many people don't understand or possess the compassion for those that are living with PCOS. I was clinically diagnosed a month ago(which means my doctor didn't bother to do any testing). I do agree that my symptoms are definitely there, but why not go the extra mile and test? I do have faith that things will get better for me and I wish the same for you :-)
My relationships have been affected by PCOS! Alotta people are in the dark about PCOS...I was too..but since finding out I have PCOS I've been doing alotta reserch...and you have helped me a lot too with the information you have shared with me.Thank you Jen!
Thanks for sharing your story with us, I also have had the similar experiences with my illness. I was successful at one time to lose weight.. that is interesting though about the naseau, hands tingling that you are experiencing as I am doing the same thing now. Ton of hugs Mel

Thanks for the vid:)

LittletinyJo 5 months ago

HannahBanana442 5 months ago

Luckily I have a great Dr now but my levels are now at an all time high.

some of the symptoms are a little bit tricky because example I have always got my period regular every month normal periods and when I was 22 I didn't get my period for 5 months straight I assume I was pregnant so I went to the clinic and they did me ultrasound bloodw ork urine test etc. turn my doctor ask me questions like "are u going to the gym? are u eating different? and i told him yes and he told that was the reason he also said stress is a big part to.

"you eat too much sugar" isn't the cause.
therealcaptobvious 11 months ago
@thatcommonsenseguy
insulin resistance is metabolic X syndrome, partly caused by thyroid issues which DOES lead to diabetes. Also along with the rest of the population, we're deficient in Vitamin D and Iodine. Vit D prevents diabetes. We're also eating krap like High fructose corn syrup that triggers diabetes and high triglyceride. We're also being invaded by iodine blockers, ie. bromide in bread, fluoride and percholates in water that block iodine absorbtion by thyroid gland.
therealcaptobvious 11 months ago
here's the trick to getting your glucose and triglycerides down without statins or metformin. Get off the high fructose corn syrup, or "corn syrup". Get that junk entirely out of your diet, it will also make it easier to lose weight. I did it, it really helped.
Also Vit D... I'm sure you know the rest.

rebeccajadeeva 11 months ago
The actual treatment for PCOS is not metformin or hormonal drugs. Those drugs are just for the symptoms.
based on the newest research, many doctors said that reducing your weight can be very helpful and also regular medium-rate sports like 30-minute walking 3-5 times a day. Changing lifestyles is more important and curing than taking drugs, because metformin has several side effects that mimic the symptoms of PCOS so sometimes patients think that this drug don't do any good.
hope this help.

@vaniamarbun
it's not enough. I'm underweight and I have PCOS. It's either caused by thyroid issues or inflammatory issues. :-)
like a version of auto-immune disorder plus xenoestrogens. I'm a long distance runner and I have watched what I ate for 10 years and I still come down with these cysts.
It's good idea to stay in shape but get real.
therealcaptobvious 11 months ago
hello. metformin is actually a drug for diabetes, because one of the symptoms of PCOS is high level of glucose in blood. actually it can cause many things that you implied here including panic attacks and other things. it's like having PMS for your whole life.
Actually PCOS is the last thing doctor may diagnose before rule out all other differential diagnosis. so it's true sometimes doctor can take quite a long time just to diagnose this disease.

This is what I am going through now. I'm 15. I have a family history of this and an even longer history with diabetes. Now my hair is falling out. I haven't had a period in 7 or 8 months... I don't know what I'm going to do. No one is taking me seriously.
MelieeBird15 1 year ago

@SovereignBeing pcos is non curable no matter what you do. it would be nice to think it is but it isn't, there is only things to help with pcos.
howlingserenity 1 year ago
@howling.s - EVERYTHING is curable.. ! u have to understand & release the mind pattern that created it in the first place.. + stop doing the things that help create this condition..i.e - Estrogen dominance.
Please DO NOT let your doctor tell u your condition is a life sentence
& that down the line you will need half your insides removed.. Do not Believe these lies..! drugs and operations are big business, use discernment, remember there are always natural alternatives, with no side effects!
SovereignBeing 1 year ago
@SovereignBeing do you have pcos, if you don't do not tell me its curable. THERE IS NO CURE FOR PCOS, ask anyone. you are just idiotic going around and telling people such a thing.
fyi my doctor didn't tell me shit when it came to this, she didn't even think to test me for it i was the one who asked her.
medicine for pcos are expensive, and operations are more so. an operation will not get rid of a problem it will only mask what is wrong and make it to where it cannot be controlled later on.
howlingserenity 1 year ago
@howlingserenity there is no "mind pattern" that makes pcos become something real, and it is not something i made happen. it manifests on its own and woman with it have no reasonings why they got it in the first place.
you are truly stupid, estrogen is not something that you can tell with your brain to knock off whatever it is doing. you can't make an announcement to it that it is out of wack. if you believe this than i don't know what people are coming to.
before you go and tell me what to.
howlingserenity 1 year ago
@howlingserenity believe and what not to believe than you better do your god damn research. you don't know me, don't shove your comments upon me unless it is helpful. your comments are non of the sort.
if you think it is curable then send me one article that says its is. until thing there is nothing you say that would benefit people with pcos in any way. go back to your false beliefs and everyone will be better off
howlingserenity 1 year ago
@howlingserenity - see i rattled you cage,, well i had pcos and i managed to cure it the natural way.. go figure.. ! enjoy your self imposed life sentence !!
SovereignBeing 1 year ago
@SovereignBeing no you didn't rattle any cages, your are just plain irritating. i love how people like to think of life as one big happy candy store trip. but in reality its not, and for someone who "use" to have pcos (i bet you would really like to make it reality) i would think you would be more considerate of other people, but i guess this hasn't changed. i can't believ how ignorant and naive the people of today have become. you do realize you have a life sentence also,
howlingserenity 1 year ago
@howlingserenity you may try to force yourself to believe you have cured it, but in reality is isn't.
howlingserenity 1 year ago
@howlingserenity - i speak from experience.. and evidence from before and after scans.. my methods are alternative and obviously going over your head..do u even know what causes this problem?? from your vehement denial of my posts im, guessing you are a practicing doctor ..?
SovereignBeing 1 year ago

howlingserenity 1 year ago
@howlingserenity - it is caused by hormonal imbalance.. an excess of estrogen. which is caused by several things that mimic estrogen once in the body they are called xenoestrogens.. main causes are pesticides & herbicides in meat, fruit/veg, Plastic which leaches into food/water from packaging, the chemicals that are in all yr household cleaners & personal care prods, taking the pill&HRT, drinking tap water etc..etc - If U research symptoms of Estrogen dominance, then perhaps u will understand..
SovereignBeing 1 year ago
@SovereignBeing exactly, so if you know that all this makes pcos appear how can you say its preventable. i do understand and i have researched it. i just don't understand how you comment and tell me that im the one who caused myself to have it. or that someone else should avoid everything they come in contact in everyday life to prevent them from getting such a thing.
howlingserenity 1 year ago
@howlingserenity - it is preventable because it is possible to avoid these things and balance your hormones.. Eat organic, use a water filter or distiller rather than bottled..use Neways products which are free of carcinogens. progesterone balances xs estrogen, exercise, energy healing and positive thought...This is how i cured myself. We have all created whatever illness we have through our mind patterns..our thoughts are v.powerful, so if u think it is incurable it will be.
see bruce lipton
SovereignBeing 1 year ago
@SovereignBeing yes, cause everyone knows this in the world. and what happens when you barely have money for even top ramen? what then. do we just go and "think" we don't need to eat? that may be how you "cured" yourself, but either way im not going to pretend its completly gone when it actually isn't. tell me do we create cancer through our "brain patterns"? your thinking is just a load of rubbish,
howlingserenity 1 year ago
@howlingserenity - yes you are poor because you have poverty consciousness -
yr believes create your lack,
U refuse to even consider anything i say, which just illustrates that u are not ready to cure yourself, u are attached to the symptoms and the sympathy u think you require from having this problem. what we dislike about others, we dislike about ourselves, so i can see you are not too happy with your own attributes, perhaps u can start being more positive instead of crushing peoples hope.
SovereignBeing 1 year ago
@SovereignBeing i have considered your views, i just don't choose to go by them. i have never been attached to the symptoms or the sympathy that people try to get from others because of pcos. i have never required sympathy for anything in life and i plan to keep it that way. i am a positive person i just believe that your way of saying you completly cured pcos is complete rubbish. i never did "put you down" in any of my comments, i simply said i think your way of going about pcos as cured
howlingserenity 1 year ago
@howlingserenity is complete rubbish. all i really was saying is how it has never been proved that pcos can be completly cured. just because you go about a healthier lifestyle does not always mean you will cure the sickness. take your own advice, but it seems you can only reply by pointing nonsense facts out about people.
howlingserenity 1 year ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@SovereignBeing no i am not a practising doctor, i have done my research. like i said your opinions are of no use cause they provide no useful information. i am someone who also had pcos, and no it has never been proven what causes the problems.i would like to know how i am "denying anything, just because your beliefs of pcos are different and i have no interest in taking them to heart you put a label on me as being "denial". if you speak from experience, then tell me what you think causes pcos?

Yes sweetie, I understand the pain. It takes over your whole life. I was recently diagnosed with pcos. Besides the common pcos symptoms, there are hundreds of other symptoms that we can be afflicted with. The numbness and tingling in hands and feet, insomnia, fatigue, body aches, anxiety and panic attacks, depression. It's like it becomes an autoimmune disorder where your body attacks itself. And yes, Dr.'s do believe that we're hypochondriacs. Thank you for sharing.

what i noticed with my new doctor is hes of younger generation, hes more assertive connecting dots, unlike those other MD,s ive been before they just totally ignored my voice and put me on birth control pills and think nothing is wrong with me told me to just just buy hair remover,i felt embarrased in a lot of ways, hesitant to find a new doc.yet i know something is wrong but no doc is willing to help, now im glad i found one who can feel my frustration and is doing something abt it.after10yrs

you need a doctor who is willing to help you figure out whats going on, even if it meansfinding a new one! , thats what i just did! he did a head to toe assessment, half way thru he's already suspecting of PCOS which i didnt know till now, he ordered blood work ,added a special progesterone and testosterone level and results came today its all pointing to PCOS , high cholesterol and testosterone level. its bitter sweet! glad i found the cause but saddened by what thiscould lead, INFERTILITY!!
linel232 2 years ago
How do you get diagnose? I think I might have it but the doctors dont do anything.
GothicCity13 2 years ago
For me, it is a lot of lab work. I had to go to an endocrinologist because everyone else (including gyn) just gave me pamphlets on weight loss. Call the doctor before going in to see if they are qualified to evaluate people for this condition. Ask what the testing involves. If it is just 1 test, it probably won't work. Many other conditions have similar symptoms. My dr. only draws blood at 11pm because that is when certain hormones show up.
hollywoodartchick 2 years ago
Thanks for the advice. What kind of doctor should I see? I don't have a doctor.
GothicCity13 2 years ago
You need an endocrinologist (Gland Doctor). It is good to find one who specializes in bariatrics (medical weight loss), as they know all the common ailments of weight gain (even if that is not one of your symptoms), and they don't waste a lot of time with tests that could not likely contribute to your condition. My dr. took blood, urine (gallons of it - literally - 4 whole days worth and one whole nights!), hair, and saliva (4 different nights).
hollywoodartchick 2 years ago
Wow really? Ok. Thanks again. ;)
GothicCity13 2 years ago
Well, they want to rule out Cushings Syndrome and Human Growth Hormone deficiency, as well as a bunch of other conditions. Good luck.
hollywoodartchick 2 years ago
One big problem are the physicians who are quick to write a prescription. They do not tend to look at the plethora of other conditions that one may have and that need to be woven together into a coherent diagnosis.
