Hey, I just got mine a b=couple months ago, only started getting "good" times three days ago; my average is around 1:15 for the pst 40 solves, 1:06 for the past 10 with 52 secs as my fastest time--any suggestions for me? I use the green cross method; Which method do you use? Also, do you know any really good shortcuts or suggestions for solving fast?
Hi, I use fridrich method. It involves F2L OLL and PLL. I start on white cross and work my way from there. My suggestion to you is to learn F2L. Its method for solving the croners of the first layer and the edges of the second layer at the same time. It will reduce your average by 30 seconds with some practice and work. Go to cubezone dot be for some very good algorithms, Most of mine are from there. Hope I helped, n good luck

i think snap is sold in the US only. but there are many others that work just as well. i do clean out the dirt in the cube and i dont just spray into it. i take it apart, set the pieces on a newspaper, spray one side of all the pieces, wait 20 min, turn over and spray other side, then wait again.dont lube the center.
spray it with silicone lubricant. i recommend snap silicone. buy a diy(do it yourself), and assemble it to your liking. you can buy them at rubiksdotcom.
You should make a video of you solving every puzzle you have. That would be pretty cool. As for me, I am trying to build up my puzzle collection. Are mefrets puzzles good quality, they look better than average rubiks cubes. Where can I get DIY cubes?
i dont know if tyson is going...i could ask him though. mefferts puzzles are very good quality. get DIY 3x3s from rubiksdotcom or cube4youdotcom. both are good. if you want speedcube with them, my advice is buy 2-3 of each DIY.

if you do fridrich, look for the 4 cross pieces and make sure you know every move to make the cross before doing the solve. that will help you to find the f2l faster. when doing the cross , go slowso you can find the f2l.

its up to you when your cube feels like it should be lubed. i lube mine every 2 or 3 months. i always lube them at least a week before competitions.

i do cross on right because im left handed. it doesnt matter where cross is except do not put it on top.

Do you start off with the cross on the bottom, side or top? Which is more effective if it even matters? You must practice a ton a day.
