You seem to know your RC stuff and I'm wondering if you have the time for a reply to my question:-) I'm pretty new to the RC world but have made it my new hobby. I've got a 1/10 buggy at the moment but I'm looking to the 1/8 class buggy. I'm looking for a kit only and want something tough for messing around for now. I was look at the Ve8 and I'm still looking at it. So what is YOUR top recommendation for my needs, money is not a problem:-) Thanks +1
i thought about getting this kit, nexx8 or 810 w/ electric conversion. I love my mini 8 and its made me want a bigger one. not interested in racing just play, and bmx track and stuff. only thing that worries me about the ve8 is how they put motor and battery on same same, seems that it would cause ballence issues
I only have two Mini Ts and want to get into something with more meat like one of these and am thinking that the electronic components would do just fine by swapping with the batteries, motor staying in place obviously. I'd only be goofing off in the large runoff nearby.
Has anyone tried this? I'm kind of poor, so knowing before getting would be best...
@squirl ive been looking for a good buggy that is afortable i was geting the 9e until i seen it was 700+$ just for the kit is there any thing u sugest me geting?? thats cheaper
ive been watching all ur reviews on buggys and im looking to by one. but idk what i want i had my mine to the 9e kit until i seen it was 700$ i have a system to go in it but im just looking for a bash/racing buggy any advise for what i should get {-500]$
@jeep793 Hey man, anyone can disagree with me. That is the beauty of opinions. =) Its how you convey that opinion. I am not one of those YT guys who smell their own farts and thinks that it is solid gold. We are all dudes here. Treat me like a person and all is good. We can all share opinions =)
Could not find it but have you ever reviewd the Caster EX 1.5r elec kit or the Mugen MBX6 eco. they seem to have the same front susp and look very sim.
@cayuga82 Eco is done but will be uploaded around 4/17. Right now I am trying to get all of the old 2008 to 2010 videos uploaded and then proceed with fresh ones.
@alex38079 If you are entry level who wants to see if you like the hobby before you get into it deep; then yet. Otherwise, if you think that you will be in for awhile, it is better to get a hobby grade brand- HPI, Losi, AE, Ofna, etc.
Great review Squirrel! I have looked at the Ve8, but I would have to say I would go with the Vorza instead eventhough they are similar in some ways. Then again, I am a basher. Also, I honestly think that there are no buggies that have the "wow" factor that have been released lately. Nothing really seperates one from another in a significant aspect anymore. I hope the Nexx may have the "wow" factor...we shall see.
I got this car with a tekno chassis and it's a beast! I can hang with anything out there. I also think that this car outcorners RC8b's. I'd upgrade the chassis if you're thinking of buying it.
@yeyarean Just keep in mind that reviews are done as stock. Yes, there is aftermarket, but my reviews are on exactly what you will get out of the box unless something needs to be installed to run it (like a BL system, and then I will put what I want on it).
that ve8 do look kinda cheap im thinking of getting an electric 1:8 scale but i guess this wont be the one shame really as its an lower price point and i can easy get spare parts in sweden
@jerryy101st Their newer stuff is. The Jato and the Revo are not bad. But, with this being a buggy review, and Traxxas refusing to put out a buggy, its not a fair apples to apples comparison.
@suge112 Check out my break in series for more fuel storage advice, but, air tight, in a cool place, and out of sunlight. If stored this way I have seen it last for a very long time.
@Whambadambadamdoo These are all very old videos. All of the newer vids will have royalty free music on them so that you can view. Its just a moving forward sort of thing.
I have a Ve8 with a MMP and a Tekin 2050 and i love the buggy. Ran it at my local track and had no prob driving all over the guys out there and most of theme run the 8ight and the rc8b and a few xray and mugen.I was stuck in between the ve8 and the nexx8 and went with the ve8 when i seen how great Jesse Robbers was running with it. Great review as always squirrel. Any plan to do a review on the losi 22 or the new 4wheel drive sct from TA?
Not saying that for some it is not great. For me, after seeing most of the others and owning them, it does not outshine the others in the same price bracket.
@Squirrelod Yeah this is my first buggy ever and i got it because it was in my price range and i was looking for something a lil diff from ever1 at the track. I was going to but a used 8ight 2.0 for 220 but with the shape it was in i went with the ve8. It also was my first kit car so i really enjoyed putting it together which was cool because it lets u know the kit b4 u even run it. looking forward to the losi 22 review looks like a mean 10th scale buggy.
I watched all the FT losi drivers go with the rear motor mount on the losi 22 (high traction clay indoor track) mid motor mounting carried speed better in the turns but it did not help in the jumps.
squirrel I need help ASAP please please please. I'm buying 40 series mashers and axial oversize rims (NOT beadlocks) and I need to know how much do they weigh aprox. I know this is stupid question. sorry, but I really need an answer ASAP. I run a Savage XL bone stock (yes, stronger servo on the way) but which gear combo to use? I run 52/16, that is stock XL gearing, which gears should I buy for mashers/oversize setup. PLEASE. thanks man in advance
@braco222 I do not have them at my shop to weight so I cannot advise. You can call PL and also axial and get weights (or email) for their products and then add them together.
I normally listen to what you have to say. But you cant be further away from the truth on both buggys. I do really take offence to you comparing them to chinese crap.
@leistungep3 Its called an opinion, much like I listened to yours. Like what I said or not, they are not designed here. I am not sure why you take my feelings on the kit personally. It was not directed towards you but it mirrors how revo take offense if someone says something that they do not want to hear about that kit. Or JQ people now that people are leaving that band wagon.
If you internalize things like this then its not my issue. You can be as mad as you want to be.

great review, good info on this video
but
im gonna put you on the spot with a question ( i apologize in advance)
Overall, after all is said and done, whats the best "E" buggy on the planet right now ?
I ask because ive just built a Losi "E" buggy with a tekin 2050kv and want to build 1 more buggy, not sure what to build though, hence my question.
thanks man.

@1521joe Mugen Eco, Losi 8ight, Hyper 9e.
Squirrelod 10 months ago
@Squirrelod
the usual suspects
thanks man
ps, can i spray your lexan bodys? ( just joking man) :)
once again thanks man.
1521joe 10 months ago
@1521joe I just think that those are the best. The Nexx 8 is a blast as well.
Depends on what you want to spray them with? Would I need a fluorescent light afterwards?
Squirrelod 10 months ago
@Squirrelod
lol, uahuahu, you wont need a flourescent light man, a good set of shades maybe:)
BIG thanks goes out to you man.

Thanks for replying I love your reviews and I agree with what you said .
Keep up the good work.
I would have written more but limited to the amount you could wright.
Like I said keep up the good work and love your views even if I don't always agree.
