  • so wonderful.

  • Love Spit Love

  • Ok...I see people saying Grohl sings it better...I like Foo...but come on people..this was the 80s and The Furs are great...Its alittle annoying hearing people say someone did the original persons song better. Shhhhudiiit lol

  • Love them. :)

  • One of my favorites.

  • what a great band great tune especially when its been a while. ecstasy.

  • Thank Christ I can still view this, all the other Psych videos I had saved in my playlists won't play, copyrite laws made them unavailable in the US!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • We saw them in Seattle last year (Sept. 2011) and they still sound as great as ever. We were a little worried that with age and the fact that it was an outdoor concert, the sound might have deteriorated, but it was awesome. Devo and The Tom Tom Club were also in the lineup. What a gas ... flashback.

  • This song was written as a response to "Sister" by Icehouse, from the album Flowers

  • This song oozes of decadence.

  • @mrsolofeo and sex, for some odd reason

  • <3

  • Why this awful F.M. band (Night Ranger) above?

    Psychedelic Furs was amazing;

  • As far as I'm concerned bands like "The Furs" along with "Bauhaus"/ "Echo and The Bunnymen"/ "Magazine"/ "Siouxsie and The Banshees" / "Jesus and Mary Chain" and "The Only Ones" fucking RE-INVENTED THE WHEEL!!!...

  • Foo Fighters do it better ! GTFO !

  • what the fuck are you lot going on ABOUT! I have a lovely sister and she's home again fuck the car shit and embrace the song

  • @nickfromCO But much respect for this band! sounds great too!

  • Iam Sorry, Cover Foo Fighters is sounds better :S

  • @RomarBoswijk stupidest thing i've read in quite a while. congrats

  • I still play this song from time to time on my old turntable. It aged amazingly well. Is it just me but I feel the music back then sounded much more real than the corporate garbage which plans on the airwaves today.

  • I like the Psych Furs but w/ this song......Grohl sings it better.

  • Wow, probably one of the first music videos, not half bad either.

  • @AdamG1983 sinatra did music videos.......FRANK sinatra?

  • Jumpers for goalposts! This is so yesterday! Love it cos to me it helped to open a world beyond well normality...

  • a TIMELESS Classic of a song! XD Take me back to the 80's! I want a Time Machine that only has years 1980-1989 on its dial setting! :) I miss you 80's and I miss the lost innocence of "Not knowing" that the world and many people in it were intolerant, ignorant, cruel, uncaring or just downright evil! :( I long for the weekends spent on the dance floor with a pretty girl whilst all around us,NUCLEAR WAR was constant threat and WE DANCED ON INTO THE NIGHT not knowing if tomorrow would come!

  • @TakeMeBackTo1986 "NUCLEAR WAR was constant threat and WE DANCED ON INTO THE NIGHT not knowing if tomorrow would come" Dont be such a bloody drama queen...

  • @affectionatepunch LOL! i was being a bit of one wasn't I? lol... but it was true just not in such a dramatic way as i posed it~! XD

  • @affectionatepunch hey...im the only rotten bastard on this board, and i kinda liked his walk down memory lane...it made me warm and fuzzy all over, after putting a head gasket on a car in the cold damp wind.....and you hadda screw IT ALL UP FOR ME, YA LITTLE BASTARD!!!....so....how bout an AFFECTIONATE BLOW JOB, WANKER....

  • @keriscorp Sounds like youve blown a head gasket in your crust you nonce...

  • @affectionatepunch crust?....um....no.....it was a chevy geo. who makes the crust? and whats a nonce?

  • What album is this off? I don't remember. It sounds like their early stuff, yet it doesn't.

  • busco baterista para banda de Los Angeles... tenemos lockout y nos late el kraut, post punk, y shoegaze. ahora es 8/30/11... ke onda?

  • Amazing song, always loved the furs. This song has so many memories from the 80's, smokin weed in some cool forest with a river and big rocks, cow shit everywhere, carrying my boom box with this playing

saw them on first tour Glasgow Tech 1980,Got some great pictures of Mr Butler up close.

  • a very sexy song....

  • The sax plays an important part in this band´s sound, you know this song "Dumb Waiters" is brutal!!

  • Butler ... what a man, I wanna murder this in karaoke

  • a masterpiece by this fab band!!!

  • isin´t great ,beautifull magnanimous

  • Saw the Furs last Fall play this tune in Montreal, I closed my eyes and literally transcended to this sweet melancholic Bliss! Brilliant piece from a band that could barely play their instruments at the time.

  • No one wears a trench coat like Richard Butler.

  • Such a great song. It was love at first listen!

  • Saw the play this live a few days ago... Best version I've heard with 2 blazin' sax solos

  • Nice pick Numanoid.

  • Las cosa buenas no duran mucho. Waooo que cancion. Que grupo. Me encatan las pieles

  • Hermana Europa ¡genial!

  • must be my sister europe

  • I wish this band had more songs like this

  • @KingCrimson776 They do.

  • @catjoyyoung This is kinda, groovier and spacier than most, and that sax...

  • @KingCrimson776 You need to dig a little deeper than their hits. You 'll find them.

  • @catjoyyoung I have heard a decent amount, but I do intend to hear more from them eventually.

  • @KingCrimson776 see my newer comment

  • Enough Nirvana already!!! Nirvana wish they wrote a song this good, sorry never liked them.

  • @bassmanjoe me either. they were shit.

  • @stephenp1968 well, well....u and bassman joe think youve got enough hair on youre 2 combined pussies to slam nirvana, but i'll wager neither of you can pick a guitar as well as you pick each others asses and noses...talk is cheap girls, if you even were allowed t stand on a big stage, piss would run down your trembling legs....two more wish they weres but know they will always be wannabees...

maybe u 2 boys should get together wit 10 pics of your least fav bands and do a circle jerk...fags...

  • @keriscorp Say what?? I just said i don't like Nirvana, whats the big deal. Just a preference asshole.

  • @bassmanjoe took ya 4 months to grow enough mold on your peanuts to spew that drivel? i hear too much copper in the system causes shrinking of the testes.....try colloidal silver and raw venison....its GOOOD!!!

  • @keriscorp You got some serious problems!!

  • @bassmanjoe i did til i improved my diet.....

  • @bassmanjoe HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE NIRVANA DIUDE?!?!? I'VE NEVER HEARD OF THIS BAND BEFORE... and partly on nirvanas cost since dave was in nirvana, and ff did a cover on this song and thus it lead me here, so don't be bullshitting dude

  • @duffieman123 Just not a Nirvana fan bro, just my opinion. I prefer Alice In Chains from that era.

  • @bassmanjoe bought!

  • @bassmanjoe

    No they didnt

  • @bassmanjoe did nirvana cover this song?

  • @negativewierdo I don't think so.

  • @bassmanjoe You obviously weren't around at the right time then.

  • Saw them last year in Birmingham, right at the front and they were awesome live!!!

  • .♫♫♫.....Sister of mineeee.........Home again....♫♫♫

  • sweet!!

  • What a great recording.

  • I really dig this song but, unlike "Big Long Now" which it compares to due to the guitar riff, this song REALLY creeps me out. I don't know why. It's not a dis to the song, it's just an emotion it invokes when I hear it. I don't know why. Anybody else feel the same way?

  • @alexandermorison,there's nothing wrong with bon jovi actually.they were an awesome part of the 80's also

  • this sounds like Nirvana- big long now... like the guitar riff. cool?

  • @Kristina1396 Kurt even says "I hope the Psychedelic Furs don't sue us" in the liner notes to Incesticide.

  • @srb1369 haha, that's funny.

  • Yeeesshh, one of my favs ♥

  • boys and girls song from blur , i think is a copy from this genuine song , maybe some part maybe all of you can recognize , let know your opinions

  • este hermoso tema lo voy a escuchar a la madrugada, mirando el eclipse <3

  • outstanding work. The charts were not ready for these guys. Ive not listened to the Furs for years. Just fantastic. Quality is timeless. What a great way to live forever.

  • @onionsonions62 well said - god but they were marvelous!

  • I think I'll follow this up with Seventeen Seconds by the Cure, I do dirges.

  • Generally I am not a big sax (not sex, sax) fan but I have to say that when it comes

to the music of The Psychedelic Furs they really seem to work well.

  • just awesome pure and simple.

  • Try making love to it. OK you only have 4 minutes, but they are a very good minutes. Then your Missus plays Bon feckin Jovi and the moment has gone.

  • Wow –a sleeper - along with All That Money Wants - just great atmospheric Fur.

Repetitive bass guitar strumming reminds me of Killing Joke, another great but forgotten 80s band.

  • Dear god!!!!!!!!!!!!! First time hearing this song from PF and I was thrown off my seat!! What an enchantingly beautiful, melodic guitar- atmospheric songs just come around anymore...

  • fucking amazing

  • My favourite song!

  • In a Chevy somewhere in the 80's this song played in the background of an argument that led somewhere worse and I was alone again...and so happy to be young with a full pack of cigarettes, if only I knew how happy I really was.

  • @jenton70 Ahh yes, I was there in the car next to you. ;) Or maybe I was at Club Lingerie and The Veil?

  • @jenton70 I was riding with perhaps the most handsome prince of a guitar player along a black and silvery Great Lake in mid-fall after his show, with him looking at me. I like your story as much as it has virtually the same ending. Sacre bleu;)

  • Utter Brilliance reminds me of a Thursday night in 1980 in winter..loved the pink cover of the Lp and the orange CBS label spinning around..finding myself and finding out what i wanted to do..

  • Sister of mine, home again!

I saw the Furs a bunch of time early 80's. I thought they were great then and still do!

This is my fav of theirs!

    Sister!!

  • they were fucking excellent supporting iggy at newcastle city hall.78 or79.wanna discuss if you want.looking to going on stage again, legendary deadmen.Z.B.C.played with pauline murray, paul harvey and rob from penetration played in my band,or was it another failed project.never completed.people that are real and sorta honest are very rare.deadmanmik@live.com.mick

  • THE ONE that made me a permanant fan of TPF. Haunting tune.

  • My mom's making me listen to this. hahahaha

  • Masterpiece

  • I thought this was David Bowie, too when I was 15 or 16..then found out it was this guy. I now think he sounds like a cross between Bowie and John Lydon.

  • is he david bowie's cousin?

  • They certainly MUST BE fucking RELATED!!!...

  • @petermurphreak I commented, I think on the original "Pretty In Pink" music video, that Richard Butler and David Bowie sound a lot alike. Peter Murphy is also in that category, though I think he was compared more often to David Bowie back in the 80s.

  • To me they're three of the MOST GORGEOUS CREATURES on this fucking PLANET!!!...

  • This Reminds Post-Punk And Ghotic Rock.

    Absoluttely Amazing.

    =D

  • Richard Butler: You take my mind on a fucking COSMIC TRIP!!!.... No shit!!!

  • I love this song. Nostalgia.... I was very much in love with the man who intro me to the Psychedelic Furs. How can you not love this music. The 80's era....will music ever be that way again....I'm glad it's here to enjoy. I think Brain Ferry is along this venue as well.

  • I am home again............... n i c e !

  • i heard a piece of this on cold case and had to track it down. very appropiate for the episode and an excellent song in itself.

  • @hume12345 so did I!

  • @Am3r1cab0y come back for more u pussy? ur bitchass wont even let me leave a comment on ur profile and u wont even post it up hahahahahaha cuz u kno ur ass gonna get roasted u fukin beaner. "dog eating chink" is all u got hahahaha how pathetic like ur people. stupid wetback go stay in ur own country and keep eating them balls and dicks yummy yumm hahahahahaha. PUSSSYYYY!!!!

  • @riceninja428 Philippine families and 32.9 per cent of the population. According to international data, 44 per cent of the population subsisted on US$2 or less a day

  • @Am3r1cab0y The Mexican standard of living is way below the US or Europe. The minimum wage is 15 pesos per day, about $1.20 US Dollars. There is little or no welfare state and no unemployment benefit. Mexico is one of the 4 worst countries in Latin America for income distribution. hahaha dumbfuck i told u ill send that shit back 10 folds bitch!!! so quit bein a pussy and talkin shit on youtube before u get knocked out like manny pacquiao does to all ur "great" mexican fighters hahahahaha LMFAO!!

  • This song is so beautiful!!!

  • Thank you, psychocandy77, for uploading this Psychedelic Furs treasure, and thank YOU, Professor Knowles, for the heads-up that it's here . . . Wunderbar, simply Wunderbar ~ (•8-D

  • My favorite Furs tune. It has atmosphere to spare. Totally amazing.

  • @stephenp1968 well said.

  • agreat band who i have been recently played after a long state of hibernation.bloody great, don letts made this video.haunting and comforting, the hitchcock of songs.butlers vocals are weird would have made a great dalek.

  • When my friend Rich went on tour with the Furs last fall I think he had to sort of lobby the rest of the band to do this one in the set.

Anyway, I saw them do it in Portland and it was a highlight. Almost as good as when I saw them play it in the 80's.

  • I used to play the album this is off endlessly...

  • love my way threw me way the fuck off... but this is actually a surprise...

Won't get it as DLC but as a song, yeah it's great. I get the imagery of radiohead meets the cure and/or depeche mode.

  • The most intense 'shroom trip of my life I was listening to this on a loop...until it didn't make sense...! Wow.

  • Coming to RockBand DLC next week!

  • excelente rola

  • brilliant song ,, the foo fighters cover of this is pretty awsome too.

  • ...it's what Iggy Pop would sound like impersonating David Bowie.

  • @olofpalme63

ironic - i first saw the furs supporting iggy in 1980 at newcastle city hall...

  • This song doesn't age, at least its melody. It could be released again today and nobody would say it's old-fashioned.

This song is somewhat "eternal" to me.

  • @lylymad yea and neither does "LOVE MY WAY" or "PRETTY IN PINK" really! They are timeless and ageless! xD

  • @TakeMeBackTo1986 I agree, timeless and ageless songs too! :)

  • Excellent band! The sound like The Church,Echo and The Bunnymen.....

  • beautiful haunting song

  • take me back in time in a club called "DA-DA" in Athens

  • Definitely the best song on their first album. Do you have any performances from TALK TALK TALK? One of my favorite albums of the early 80s.

  • Comment removed

  • dont know anybody that sounds like nirvana, but kinda know what ye mean :)

  • @deadkennedy1

Yes, "Big Long Now", Kurt sort of ripped them off

  • wow you must be really young.

  • Nope, I just hear the similarities between the two songs.

  • except this came out almost a decade before

  • Richard B looks great in this fanstatic song.

  • what a delicious song.. . . .

  • what a delicious singer mmm jajajaja

  • @arepillas Ditto.

  • Dreamy, melodic, hypnotic

  • Trying to find piano tabs for this song...can't find them anywhere :(

  • hypnotic and fantastic

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!

  • Always liked the song just before this on the album. It's strange to hear this without that opening number. Very Cool video.

  • I met them 20 Yrs ago in a NY Niteclub, talked a bit to the lead singer, was cool back then.

  • what did the lead singer's speaking voice sound like? i don't want to watch an interview - i like the art better than the source, but am so curious cuz richard's singing voice is amazing - like someone whispering in a dream

  • I often wondered the same thing since most of his singing sounds so raspy. I actually saw an interview here on YouTube and he sounds nothing like what he sings like. I thought he'd sound really serious and low key, but that's not the case at all. Great voice though, very unique. His voice lets you know its the Furs you're listening to.

  • Great song - but Imitation of Christ was even better :-) Was one of my fav band circa1980. First album was f**king fantastic. But after that they got very commercial and that's all that gets remembered these days. Have to admit when I saw them in '81 or '82 in Tottenham Crt Road they were very dissappointing. Crap venue didn't help them maybe. Shame.

  • Hey guys- I like this song.

  • psychedelic heaven!

  • Amen to that...

  • Saw the Furs last night and got a chance to meet Richard. He's quite a gentleman and so kind to his fans. His voice was incredible and the Furs were brilliant. It was an extraordinary experience. Very psychedelic compared to what's out there today.

  • I wish they'd tour out here again...

  • Pure fucking UNADULTERED GENIUS!!! Phenomenal sound and a SEXY BEAST for a singer!!! What fucking MORE can you ask for in a band??!!! A VOLCANIC combination!!! No lie!!!

  • i love this video...... and this song

  • I so love this -so moody, hypnotic...

  • I love this song...brillant...allround its a wickedlly brillant song

  • There's a lot of the better Bowie in this. Richard always had a stupendous voice. The only free ticket for a concert I ever won was for Love spit love. It was cancelled by lack of interest by the public. I can't say it didn't feel bad then :-)

  • Don Letts!

  • Whats Don Letts got to do with this tune? He always pops up somewhere on the quality stuff!

  • love

  • At the time they had (in my opinion) more depth and a better musical ability. Over time U2 would get better as a band and develop a more cohesive sound. But i still prefer Richard butlers voice and delivery over Bonos .I hear overtones of The velvet 's or early solo Lou Reed. I saw them with The Talking Heads on the Remain in Light tour, the Furs were fantastic live .I later saw U2 headline the same small theatre and left, they were not as good. How they can do it in stadiums is a mystery to me

  • The Furs indeed had their OWN identity!

A bit more commercial than the Theatre of Hate etc. but way better than most other youngtimers.
