  • Calling games murder simulators is ridiculous. Even comparing games like ARMA w/ ACE mod to weapons handling courses is like saying Street Fighter II Turbo gives you a black-belt. Or that Trauma Center makes you a brain surgeon. I could make present more examples but you get the idea. I've only seen one system that can even approx weapons handling and despite the thousands of dollars it costs it still doesn't beat the real thing.

  • Ron Jeremy holding macaulay culkin hostage.

  • As a Marine and avid gamer I know that a mouse and keyboard doesn't teach weapons handling or CQC. As recruits, we spend weeks with our rifles, learning their parts, functions, how to care for and how to carry them. We spend a week firing them before we even qualify with them. When that is over we spend time in SOI learning how to wield them in the field and use more specialized weapons. After that we qualify every year to work on those skills. A mouse and keyboard can not convey that.

  • awww poor harrison

  • You look at most of us kids in the south we've shot guns thus a real life activity such as hunting

  • Poor Harrison, I'd cry, too if I was to fire a gun at that age... :(

  • Also, I saw a few comments claiming that Penn + Teller are liberals and upholding them for being so. They are not liberals, they are libertarians. Libertarians come from both sides of the fence, and it means that they support the idea for smaller government involvement in the lives of American citizens. Sorry, but I had to say something since there were so many people full of hot air claiming that conservatives hate games. Do the names Hillary Clinton and Joe Liebermann ring any bells?

  • To all those trying to turn this into a political issue: you might as well give up. I'm a politically conservative Christian who owns everything in the GTA series, Postal series, Dead Space series, Doom series, Quake series and Manhunt series just to name a few. There have been plenty of anti-game protesters on both sides to the point where it's impossible to tell which side truly hates video games. That was until I came to the conclusion that (gasp) video games doesn't work in politics.

  • LMAO, the girl that was telling him to RECYCLE his cell phone didn't even recycle the paper he gave her..straight into the trash can

  • I've shot a gun and I know it takes a lot more focus than shooting in video games. I just don't get why that kid is crying.

  • @teawead I assume it's because he had a very loud powerful gun at a very young age (He's NINE and his first fire weapon is an assault rifle). He's just been put on T.V which is more stress and he's just, like the mum said, Had his mental assumption of violence go bang. Not everyone would react the same way, but he definatly had a good enough reason to cry.

  • I've played first-person shooter for pretty much my whole life. And I'm not sure if I can even reload my pellet rifle without any help.

  • Poor Harrison ;_;

  • the fat guy is the one who seems closer to a killing spree

  • First person shooters is wrong but the military drafting you and teaching you how to kill the ''enemy'' real life is good for your chacter and makes a man out of you? LOL, GTFOH

  • The only reason the media is against video games is that they are a competing form of entertainment. They would much rather you would be interested in the next war where we kill thousands of people in real life.

  • I would much rather my kids played CoD instead of AFL. I can afford games, I cant afford medical bills, uniforms, seasonal dues and Soccer Mums.

  • If there's one thing GTA3 taught me as a kid, is if you kill the hooker YOU GET YOUR MONEY BACK :D

  • Rugby not Football

  • Why don't we just make children illegal? Done, no more school shootings.

Go even further, No schools = no schools shootings... BRILLIANT!

Or give them swords! No shooting!... altho, some stabbing may happen... SHIELDS! And make it for tv! Awesome.

  • God that last shot gets me every time.

  • Nice try guys but butter wouldnt melt in this kids mouth. Now give it to an excitable little asswipe with a track record for bad behaviour

  • @banneradders

Well that's the point. People like Jack Thompson think that violent video games make anyone a killer. Here they showed that a normal kid with decent parenting and values didn't start rampaging as soon as he got a gun.

  • When doctors say things like 'Increased blood-flow to this area of the brain; which we believe is the center for violent behavior" You need to pay attention to their words . They do not know with %100 certainty what each part of the brain does. Or more accurately, doctors do not know that the areas of the brain that control violent behavior do not also serve other functions. So these MRI scans are in no way evidence of anything.

  • After reading up on the AR 14s recoil that kid might just be nothing but a PUss. I wanna shoot one now and see if my comments are bullshit.

  • @Casnazer 5.56 doesn't kick bad, if you're an adult. They should have had him shoot a .22 especially if he had never fired a weapon before.

  • Fine, then it was the kick, bad taste in his mouth, and loud add fuck noise that made him cry.

  • To everyone who tells me "that's the point, Penn n Teller are showing he's not a killing machine now" , your missing the point. Why not see the kids reaction if he shot a gun t that didn't knock the shit out him. Let him shoot a 22 to see his reaction, not a fucking elephant fun.

  • @Casnazer I'm pretty sure the recoil wasn't what had him crying at the end.

  • @clipsryan The kid realized he had a weapon in his hands that could kill. He was sad because any kid who holds a gun will obviously react differently but far from what these anti games nuts expect you to believe most kids are not killers who are fed through a vice. Most kids believe it or not are actually pretty decent. Do I believe 100 percent giving him a gun was a good idea? No. However giving any kid a gun is a bad idea. He knows the difference between fantasy and reality.

  • I don't think that boy will ever play a first person shooter again XD Poor poor kid.

  • The game Operation taught us how to use a pair of tweezers with a steady hand. I don't think it gave me any skills as a doctor...

  • God, was my heart pounding when I fired an assault rifle the first time. And that was just with blanks.

  • if they ban video games.. then i can guarantee. shit will get violent

  • Listen guys, I know under normal circumstances that you'd train any new shooter in proper posture, stance, and composure. However, this was all to prove a point. This kid plays the shit out of violent videogames and he didn't know the first thing about the weapon or its operation.

In other words, it was a clear illustration against the assertion that videogames are murder simulators that train and condition its audience. Videogames provide no useful firearms training.

  • @Dream0Asylum I completely agree with the premise, but all things being equal, giving a kid a powerful weapon and not giving him even the very basic instruction of how to hold the weapon so that the recoil doesn't hurt him, was probably unsafe and ill-advised.

If they wanted to make the point he just as easily could have asked the kid to hold the gun as if he was going to fire, but not fire, and then correct his posture before letting him fire. Safer for everyone and still makes the point.

  • seriously kid, take it easy. It's just a loud noise and a bullet. You did fine and you'll be fine.

  • It would hav been btr for them to hav used a much older kid as a test subject. Theres more likely to agression with that testoterone in his blood

  • I want to know why he's crying...I love first person shooters and I would LOVE to shoot that rifle. I tend to think this kid is the exception, really. I still think Penn and Teller are right, but they're being a bit misleading here.

  • @HRRyan2 He's crying because of the shock. Games like COD4 portray firing an M16 (almost an equivalent to the Ar-15 used in this video) as a small muzzle flash, 2mm of movement up, and a very quite noise. So when you give him the same thing only to have it fill the air around with him gunpowder residue (i think that's what it was) filling his mouth, kick so hard it flew out of his hands, and a noise that made him flinch even with hearing protection, it's quite a shock.

  • that gun pimp slap the kid

  • I don't remember if I was that fearful when I was nine, but I think I'd actually enjoy firing the gun.

  • The ending shows reality at its best.

Saying violent video games train you for actual violence is like saying that playing with stuffed animals is going to train you to be a vet.

    Idiots!

  • Played violent games since I was 8 or 9 (half life 2 back in 2005 was the first) and watched my older brothers play much earlier than that, probably since I was 3. I was never the least bit confused over reality vs. fantasy and am now a pretty successful person considering all that young age "violence". Good one, P&T.

  • I love the football analogy. "It's ok because they're being men." The conservatives love to criticize things that aren't responsible to promote their supposedly anit-violent cause and then in the next breath, they applaud killing people from other countries and demonize anyone that says anything negative about soldiers. I have Manhunt 2 AND Mario Kart for the Wii. I'll play GTA and then Rockband. Rockband doesn't convince me that making it is that easy on other people's music.

  • @clipsryan There's a BIG difference between a soldier (who actually are more heroic than often talked about, doing things like dropping supplies to the civillians of nations we're AT WAR with simply out of charity) and a school shooter. What they fear is that children become violent become school shooters. To me, video game censorship seems more backed by ultra-liberal gun controllers. But, that's just my experience.

  • @StuffedAnimalPlanet This isn't about guns. This is about games. Not every violent game has guns and most critics of gaming (for violence, perversion, anti-social behaviour and anti-trust of teenagers) are conservatives. There's a big difference between a hero and a person who exploits his/her position while others call them a hero. Gun-control makes sense. Conservatives criticizing the gaming industry when it's already full of ratings, doesn't.

  • @clipsryan I'm going to make a list of things:

    1. Gun control does not make sense (well, maybe it does, to a degree. We certianly shouldn't give former violent criminals guns) because it only effects law-abiding citizens. In fact, it would probably increase organized crime and illegal gun trading. Think about the prohibition. Now, replace alcohol with guns. And then take away law abiding civillian's abillity to defend themselves.

  • @StuffedAnimalPlanet You really should've done this in a PM but whatever. Defend themselves? That's what licenses are for. Most don't have a license and if you wanna defend yourself, actually learn self defense and maybe get a taser.

  • @clipsryan 2. I've interpreted game-control as a liberal movement, as liberals tend to be more pacifistic (I used the term "gun controllers" as an exaggeration, though I probably shouldn't have in hindsight). However, I suppose there's probably game censors on both sides of the fence. Heck, you might even be right completely here.

    3. I'm not saying game censors are right. In fact, I personally play many FPS games, and despise people who disrespect them as an art medium.

  • @StuffedAnimalPlanet Liberals are more peaceful but they also care about statistics and like the two liberal men in this video, they can actually provide facts. If they attack anything, it's the truly violent people that shoot liberal congresswomen and support bigotted politicians but that's another issue.

I know you're not and fantasy is fantasy. This is what conservatives can't seem to get through their thick skulls.

  • @clipsryan more peaceful? then why is every liberal protest far more violent, environmentally damaging, and all this justified with an "It's true because I say so" attitude than any conservative protest or gathering?

  • @mcchriskicksass Dumb question, they aren't. It's true because it's true. Tell a conservative the truth and they call you an idiot or a nazi or a socialist. Peaceful protests are met with violent police while armed conservatives protestors kiss the ass of the rich so nobody attacks. The fact that we have to remind you idiots this, is really annoying. Most conservatives are racist, gay bashing, anti-poor pricks and you're defending them.

  • @clipsryan wtf? most conservatives are not racist or homophobes. that's just who you see on fox news. liberals are the same way if you want to go that route. way to buy into the brainwashing bud. i'm a conservative who is for stem cell, gay rights, hate government intervention, and am pro civil liberties. oh, but that makes me a republican, right? fuck off with your one dimensional world view. democrat, republican, they are bought by the same people. look it up dumbass.

  • @RandomTrollAccount You also see that during conservative rallys and many of these racist homophobes aren't just exposed by a news station that consists of those with the same opinions. You're not a conservative. You say you are but you're like those moderate christians that try to create a flase reputation for an already, disgusting group. I'm not talking about democrats, I'm talking about conservatives, shithead. Stop being a fucking retard.

  • @clipsryan hi shithead, guess what? i don't care. you can't label ANYTHING in black and white. children do that. are you a child? someone who believes in limited government may certainly call themselves conservative. they can also be called libertarian. some democrats want limited gov, are they now conservative? fucking hell, u have no cognitive ability to think whatsoever. i shall call you a tiny asian homosexual. you say you aren't but i know you love that cock in your dirty little asscunt.

  • @RandomTrollAccount Hi, shithead. The groups speak for themselves. First, I'm not asian and second, the only person who would know a homosexual's sex life, is another homosexual. Good job dumbshit. Look at the people that represent your side of politics. Dumbest and most hateful people in America. Not to mention how they love straw men arguments and you clearly share their anti-gay position. As usual, you all don't rely on evidence but want me to generalize you.

  • @RandomTrollAccount deuche bag trolololol

  • @tsiglos cacksooker trolololol

  • @clipsryan lol do you get all of your info about conservatives from the Huffington Post? Your complete ignorance is quite funny. And mcchriskicksass was right; liberal protests generally result in more property damage, personal violence, littering, etc., than conservative protests. And the line "it's true because it's true" literally made me laugh out loud. Circular logic is always funny. Top it off with baseless ad hominem attacks, and your display of ignorance was complete. Good job.

  • @2014jackal Laughing out load? That's nice. Anyway, I get my info from looking at the world. More than doesn't justify either side though when the conservatives laugh at the poor and mistreated, you laugh when they get outraged. Considering I wasn't adressing you, you don't know the context of my "It's true because it's true" comment. I actually explained where I was coming from before that. Now, fuck off, moron.

  • @clipsryan First, where did I say "laughing out load"? On a more substantial note, I'm not sure what "world" you get your info from, but on earth, conservatives are concerned about everyone being treated as they deserve, for better or worse. We don't "laugh at the poor", but we don't think they deserve special breaks either. I've noticed that you have a trend of viciously generalizing people, so I would say that you're more hate-filled and bigoted than any conservative I've ever met.

  • @2014jackal When you fucking typed lol. No, conservatives only care about their rights and screw the rest. This is why they're so passionate about taking away equal rights from gays, supporting theocracy and shitting on the constitution. Until you can explain how I supposedly have this "trend", it means squat. Special breaks? It's about helping others to create an equal and more enjoyable country (eventually world) instead of having cons blaming the poor for being poor.

  • @clipsryan What are you on? I said "out loud", not "out load". Learn the difference. Conservatives do care about rights, and these rights apply to all. Equality of opportunity and all that. Neither I nor any conservative I know is anti-gay, pro-theocracy, or anti-constitution. And opposing gay marriage in favor of civil unions isn't anti-gay, since no one is calling for criminalizing homosexuality. And I don't see how taking extra money from people who have earned it would be "enjoyable".

  • @2014jackal You new what I meant smartass. Turn on the fucking tv and go to conservative republican rallys. Look at the presidential candidates. They're clearly anti-gay, pro-theocracy which automatically makes them anti-constitutional. Earned it? That's hilarious. Yeah, earned millions of dollars from their families compared to people that work harder than any person and is getting the blame by Cain and his supporters for not being able to afford insurance.

  • @clipsryan 4. Reason #3 is actually why I watched this in the first place

    5. Most US soldiers are good guys. Which is not to say all soldiers are good (certianly there are a few war criminals amongst us!). However, as a group I'd say the US army is probably one of the more righteous examples of humanity.

  • @StuffedAnimalPlanet War is never the answer and most do it for money and job oppertunities considering alot of our wars weren't justified but any time you criticize the war or soldiers, you're an anti-american according to conservatives.

  • @clipsryan Reason #7 (I think. Lost count) Even if you disagree with the war, I'd say the Army is handling it well. After all, they didn't choose to be in it....

  • @clipsryan #8 you are certianly right about 1 thing (and probably right about a few more). People who love soldiers shouldn't hate COD.

  • @clipsryan #9 Let's see...nope, out of things to say. Thanks for reading all of this!

  • I love Penn and Teller, but the truth is they're just as full of shit as the points they try and prove.

  • @Casnazer

    u mad

  • @SigurdHeathen ... Meh

  • @Casnazer At least they have a well thought out strategy to present this material to the public with contrasts and comparisons next to real life examples (i.e. Wii tennis vs. real tennis), rather than creating links from incidents that occurred and trying to paste them together (i.e. Hilary Clinton reading articles and supporting their hypothesis without herself actually doing the experiment and coming up with her own hypothesis).

  • lol I never realized but while I agree with point of this video, sometimes penn and teller just just full of shit.

  • I agree with Penn and Teller. Man all this talk about kids killing everyone in their school is just, I'm paraphrasing here, bullshit. Suckers.

  • what the fuckin fuck fuck me!

  • wearing ear pro for 5.56? pussies.

  • @wrenchist

Because hearing damage makes you a badass.

  • if i'm correct, a little girl SAVE her mother from a explosive car when it was flip over, she know the car would explode because she saw it on GTA4

  • right....off to play battlefield 3 and kill some more friends :) hehe

  • Aww who cares whether his mom said it or not. The kid was sensitive, which is a GOOD thing. I've played games my whole life since I was a little girl, scary games made me sensitive too, but I enjoyed them nevertheless 'cause games and movies and books are entertainment, nothing more. I was never driven to violent behavior by them, in real life I'm a total wuss. lol I love animated blood and gore, but real life gore and blood makes me sick. Great episode, P&T!

  • A really excellent point Penn makes there in the end about football.

  • Why is there a badge sitting behind the guy shooting the gun?

  • Did anyone else notice that when they show the boy crying, the audio is his mom comforting him but if you pause it, you will see that it is his sister holding him with the audio of his mother saying that "I got you". Obviously this was edited for what they wanted to show and hear at the same time. Come on P&T, don't give us edited shit like this. I agree with everything you said in the show but don't give me your edited bullshit because it makes me question your intentions too.

  • @empireskateshop Well she was holding him and comforting him, when she said "I got you" it sounded as another way of saying "I'm here for you" or "Everything's going to be OK". That's how I interpreted it the first time I heard it anyways.

  • That fat cunt is a hypocrite.

  • Was that sound in the ending credits from that us school shoot out done by those two boys who were also shown earlier in the video!?

And that fire triangle fatty is the one that is psycho troubled! Look at him when hes holding a gun, he thinks hes the king and can do anything! Crazy motherfucker!

  • 1) The guy should have shown him how to hold the gun properly and 2) He shouldnt be crying because hes just helped prove a point about video games

  • @TheOstreicher But wouldn't showing him how to hold the gun defeat the point? This kid has played hundreds of hours of shooting games, according to idiots he should be fully trained by his games to be able to gun down his entire school with accuracy. But he couldn't even hold the gun right, meaning video games aren't teaching our kids to be killers.

  • @shonenjumpfan all he shot one bullet, and couldnt hndle it. Imagine if he shot an entire clip.

  • to those jokers talking about the child and his trauma or form....You are b. s. They were testing to see the knowledge the kid learned from video games. So real life he didn't know weaver, modified weaver, shouldering or cutting the pie tactics. They were not there to train him. And him crying....He is a young child! Guns are loud, smelly and can really bite. He did a great job of even trying to fire without training. Police and military won't even put a gun in your hand without hours training.

  • @MrDudeer

If that's how you talk about firearms, then your dad has a lot to teach you. Obviously you have no respect for them. I won't argue with a 12 year old. I'll only hope that you someday learn that guns aren't toys. You can respond to this if you wish. I'll have no further part in it.

  • that is funny cause here in Mexico a lot of the violent teenagers don't even have a video game Console XD

  • I've been playing violent video games for about 10 years now, and I've never even though of the idea to kill someone in real life. Not even hurt one. Video games doesn't make mentally healthy people murders, in fact, barely mentally instable persons gets more violent by the games. I agree with Penn, Football is fucking violent and makes people violent, coaches screaming to kids that they have to show no fear, nor mercy against opponent team. That's fucking BULLSHIT!

  • Thumbs up if you played a violent video game straight after watching this.

  • No to correct these people that think FPS games are one of the causes of teen violence they are wrong. i would say the leading cause in teens is bullies and people picking on them and making fun of them. then it makes them act in a violent manner AKA school shootings and such.

  • I'm surprised the kid even had the balls to shoot it! I was offered to shoot a 12 guage at 13 and turned it down. That kid has more balls than all the faggots on here saying that kids a pussy COMBINED. Btw, first gun i actually shot was an AK47... Damn that's a beautiful gun. Make sure you wipe the playground with any coward that tries to bully you for that kid!

  • @warpath77 ** That kid had more balls then all the PEOPLE on here saying..."

  • @phrozen17 big man picking on 9-year-olds on the internet behind a computer screen i see?

  • @phrozen17 im a horny 16 year old girl with huge tits and a tight pussy and that comment just turned me on. I would like to fuck you for picking on that gay little 9-year old boy. You are a true man of society.

  • I see fps games and well, any violent video game as an exhaust pipe for my anger,as i do metal music. Hey,it's better to imagine doing crazy violent stuff and get your "steam" out then rather let it build up and literally become a bomb.

  • @hnjahnjah Exactly...it acts as a mechanism to vent rather than as a training simulator...games are anything but reality similators - that's why people play them - to do things they know they CAN'T do in reality because there would be real-world consequences. I can't go kill a dragon in the real world, or battle hoards of enemies with a mythical sword. I can in games. it is escapism, pure and simple.

  • gta forever......ftw

  • I don't see why this is even an issue. If you think violent video games negatively effect your kids, don't buy your kids violent video games? This idea some people have that they have the right to dictate their beliefs to others irritates me.

  • wow.. the guy doesn't even show him how to hold the gun, so the damn thing recoils and smacks the shit out of him.

  • @Casnazer yep that's the point of the whole thing, videogames dont teach you how to shoot. Thank god it was an AR-15, any other assault rifle could've fractured his cheekbone 'cause of recoil.

  • @Casnazer Thats exactly what I was thinking. Look at the way that weapon interfaces with his shoulder. He's lucky it didn't injure him! Where is this "safety officer?"

  • It@Casnazer It let the people see that kids aren't being taught how to hold a gun and kill. If he showed him the right position it would have defeated the purpose of the test.

  • @Casnazer i thnik the point was to show if video games would teach him how to hold a gun and stuff. And we could see it didnt.

  • @Casnazer That was the point. The argument is that a kid who plays video games should be able to pick up a gun and go shoot up his school; that violent games act as training courses in violence.

  • @Casnazer

That's the point to prove games don't train kids on the proper use of guns.

  • @TwigsInc I disagree. It's one thing to show the kid how to use the gun properly and see if he enjoys it vs having the thing Hurt him and scare him from giving an actual opinion.

  • @Casnazer if you're only experience with firing a gun is to feel the recoil, I seriously doubt you'd get any other review besides " this sucks ass".

  • @Casnazer I think that was the point though. He was "supposed" to have been trained by CoD and shit. The guy was just there to make sure he didn't hurt himself.

  • @Casnazer That wouldn't have been necessary. The kid obviously had sufficent training from all those violent videogames :p

  • @Casnazer Yeh it's rough, they should have probably done that. It's kind of the point though, that a kid won't know how to operate a firearm just from playing violent video games like Jack Shit said he would.

  • @Casnazer Well, he has gaming experience,so, he should be pro at this.

  • @Casnazer thats because they were saying.. "kids who play video games learn how to be a killing machine" it was to prove, just because he plays shooting games, doesnt mean he knows how to kill with a gun. but it was douchey cuz it hit him in the mouth

  • poor kid :( it must have been scary, but im kinda sure that he cried because the gun's recoil hit his sholder and maybe his face too :(

  • I really liked this part: 1:28 :D

  • that kid probably got bullied like hell after this came out

  • that kid didnt even hold the gun right

  • what the fucking fuck LMAO

  • that kid held the power to kill a man in his hands he understood it very well, to say he doesnt understand reality from fiction would be idiotic.

  • Whats up with the cop when the kid is shooting?he looks unhappy about the whole thing .... I was 10 years old and hunting yeah i was killing at 10 but im ok maybe that is because I was taught at a young age WTF guns are for either hunting / survival or self defense / survival.

    sorry kid btw

  • This was the best show ever made.

  • if I cried like that after shooting other kids would kick my ass in school

  • @damir611 That's a hell of a gun he fired tho! I was shitting bricks the first time I had to fire an M-16 in the service and I was 3 time his age! haha It's scary the first time!

  • Poor kid... I hope they let him try again another day so he could further the learning experience and learn that guns themselves shouldn't scare you like that. Maybe they did. Hope so. :)

  • would be funny if that kid becomes a soldier when he gets old enough

  • It is scientifically proved that a tesla dildo can blow up your ass, i just need some volunteer....

  • 7:30

    AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CUTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE....POOOOOR BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    O.O"

  • @ravensep My sentiments exactly.

  • Fn amazing

  • Suck on that shit Jack Thompson

  • I'm a fairly depressed 17 year old with very little life since my friends moved away. I enjoy Call of Duty, Battlefield, and a large selection of other violent video games. I also think it would be fun to get to shoot some of the weapons I've used in video games in real life.

But at the end of the day. I'm not gonna go out and harm anyone. It seriously pisses me off to see people blaming video games for crimes. Parents need to stop using video games as a scapegoat to hide their poor parenting.

  • @Jassie411 You'll love this video

    /watch?v=vuPd5h7rwLI

  • I think it was the reality of it that brought him to tears. Even to this day, the fragility of human life (mine and everyone's) really freaks me out. It doesn't matter what you intend to do. I'm a peace loving Buddhist, but when I first did target practice with a .22, I knew in an incredibly NOT fun way that I was dangerous. Playing TF2, not so much :)

  • Das deep dude.

  • video games have had a serious effect on me. everytime i see a giant brown mushroom with big eyes sidestepping towards me, i just have to conjure a fireball out of thin air and throw it at him... it's stronger than myself.

  • @Raezeman you killed my goomba you bastard >:O

  • 7 ppl are your Moms hating this.

  • Comment removed

  • fuck jack thompson. theres mnothing wrong with that kid.

  • Aww man, the ending of that was just horrid. Damn near brought me to tears! Fuck people that say Video games are bad! They've done us more good them harm!

  • @StaxX73 First firing a weapon can be pretty traumatic if you aren't mentally ready for it. Especially a .223/5.56mm rifle. It's loud, violent, and can be really scary. Not to mention the guy handing him the gun did a real lousy job helping him shore up his form, poor kid took the butt right to the jaw.

  • Home Alone 7!?! With Ron Jeremy AND Macaulay Culkin!?!?! How have I missed this, and where can I buy it NOW!?!?!

  • Video games don't kill people. Guns don't even kill people. It's mute magicians that kill people...

  • awww poor Harrison.

  • cervical trauma

  • Ouch that kid must've busted himself in the jaw.

  • I like the Football speech at the end, it's really sad how true that is.

  • @AnangeredMouse i actually cried.

  • I love first person shooters. But I hate violence. I would never inflict force upon someone else unless in self defense.

The fact that I like to blow virtual people faces off doesn't mean I want to do that in real life.

I even have problems murdering bugs. Especially spiders, it takes a while to get those bastards into cups so I can throw them out the window.

  • @Butmunch666 Depends on the spider. There's a certain point where it stops being "C'mere little guy, lets get you outside" and "BURN THE HOUSE DOWN TO KILL IT"

When you have a spider crawl in that could cover an Xbox controller, you start finding what ever you can use to kill it at maximum range.

  • when i was 13 my dad took me to a shooting range (i live in Australia so the laws are really strict and i could only shot pistols at my age) i loved shooting some targets with my dad but i could never even threaten someone with a knife let a lone a gun. yes i do play quite a lot of fps but only with my friends and family, so the point i am trying to get across is that it is a social thing to do with people you know.

  • When I was 13 I joined Air Cadets, a few weeks later we were brought to the shooting range. We were given FNC1A1 Battle rifles, Not fully Auto mind you but still firing Full size Nato rifle rounds. That day did change my outlook a lot I was scared just like this kid as I had never even seen a military rifle up close nevermind fire the damn thing. We had to take turns marking targets with bullets whizzing overhead and firing as well. I realized that day the reality of things if you can dig it.

  • Hawhaw I was handed a Nato FAL Auto rifle when I was in Cadets at the age of 13, it didn't make me violent at all and all I had was Atari 2600, it didn't have a very violent game catalog XD.

  • Shooting a gun is a scary experience the very first time the kid is 9 cut him some slack also I'd like to point out that there are over 2 million people playing call of duty modern warfare 3 at this very moment and there are probably about 2 or 3 million more gamers who are either not playing or don't like call of duty so 4-5 million gamers (rough estimate) playing violent video games to how many school shootings? Maybe a few thousand if even that?

  • @TaylorIreland I really hope half of the world's "gamers" aren't codfags.

  • As an Expert Sharpshooter in the NRA, and a Licensed Firearm Instructor, All I have to say to the people picking on that 9 year-old is this:

You are a very sad person. And clearly not a parent.

Guns are scary. Not every kid will take to it right away. His form was all wrong and it probably hurt. He was also firing at human images. Something like that can be seriously heavy for a kid. Shame on you for making fun of him. And an AR-15 is a hell of a gun to be your first. That kid is a champ.
