  • always very usefull but this ring...ushuahs

  • i have a question,

    WTF ARE yOU SAYING???

  • OMG THANK YOU x 123476734598763495781623 times

  • thanks to Turkey

  • hokay

    gud vid

  • dude, you can play the hell out of that 240p quality ;)

  • awesome one...

  • omg very easy XD

  • great lesson ...thanks. i sometimes find it easier to hold the pick sideways (instead of flat) for easy harmonics. but it does run the danger of twanging a couple of other strings ...

  • 42 ppl lost their fingers while tapping

  • I need some help with a solo AFI medicate and i just cant get it please help

  • when itry it, it doesnt sound loud enough. i have my amp distorted, and im doing what this video said and i can barely hear it. help!!

  • @13JimiHendrix

    What guitar do you have?

  • i like his teaching ability

  • it's not working i tap 12 frets above and it sounds just like normal tapping :'(

  • @erab1996 make sure not to leave your finger down. it's just a sharp tapp and you lift your finger

  • hey can you show how to play wat you played in the video for a example lol

  • Now..... beat It solo cover!!!!

  • i dont wanna sound gay but this dude is so adoreble

  • @kekech we all feel this man, you have more balls for saying it. or less, but hey, we know it.

  • @kekech lol I'm not sure if it's possible for that sentence to sound straight

  • thats pretty good, but a vox soundlab creates the octave effect for u xP

  • @DawnOfDoom12 no it doesnt.

  • good Will you teach me to play guitar.

  • i want your fingers.....

  • Clip your fingernails bro XD

  • @TheModernModers

What a retarded suggestion. He uses his fingernails as picks, I'm assuming.

  • you can also tap out 9'ths, 5'ths, and 3'rds to the tonic.

  • bro... what the fuck is up with your nails... good lord dude.

  • @JgHaverty You are clearly not a guitarist: it's what you use for plucking classic guitars.

  • @jetaimemina what the fuck are you talking about lol?

  • @JgHaverty Classical guitarists keep longer fingernails on their picking hand, since they play nylon strings and obviously don't use a pick. This guy apparently plays both electric and classical.

  • thats sexy

  • Why is always saying R so hard, like Russian?

  • @ChuckBorrisSkate He said it only once, that's not always!

  • @Filaqosik No. He says that in every guitar lesson.

  • sounds so cool :)

  • Seriously Justin, that was some damn sweet playing. Keep up the good work, btw thanks for this video. Helped alot!

    - Zak

  • Very God Lessons Thanks

  • how do you turn the tone to get a rock sound like that on a strat?

  • @PKPingo try adding some treble and gain(distortion), if you can control the bass you can put it down a little bit

  • great simple lesson brother, the 12 frets are all you need I should have learned this years ago.

  • please play Bon Jovi's Wanted Dead Or Alive and You Give Love A Bad Name

  • THANKS !! =))

  • it may sounds like fun but is it nessecery to have "long" fists?

  • 0:25

... I see what you did there.

  • FINALLY I KNOW THE TRICK TO TAPPING!!!! THANX A LOT!!!!

  • 0.53 xD 1.36...I laughed when he said: Right hand!!! Cool pronunciation! :D

  • thanks dude! awesome !!!

  • dude ur amazing ive watched ur lesson videos thank you so much :) peace

  • would it help if i turn up my amp. cuz i cant tell the difference when i play it.

  • Have you ever tapped and done a pinch at the same time?

  • @TheEternalLeader no, because if you do that, your guitar probably bursts into flames afterwards :( :D :D

  • hey man how's going..I 've just wondering...i have a very cheap equipment specifically the Ibanez GRX40 with the GT 10 amp...I can get the harmonics unpluged really loud but when I'm plugged into the amp I cant really hear them...Is my equipment the problem?? Thanks...

  • I loved the video!

p.s- do you put on nail polish? LOL it looks kinda shiny ;)

  • I keep seeing all these comments about 0:53 and i thought this dude was gonna do something funny. He put up his middle finger. Big fucking deal. Must be a bunch of immature kids watching this video who've never seen a middle finger before.

  • @BreakingGlass77 hey

look at 0:53 he showed us the finger hahaha

    Lol

  • skipping add didnt work for me

  • lol.....birdy-finger xD

  • pause at 0:53 LOL

  • 0:01 skip add

  • i remember just figuring this out completely on my own. like i randomly found how to do this cause I thought i was cool to slap the neck when i played a chord and i accidentaly did a tapping harmonic lol

  • That's really fuckin' cool..

  • Damnit you make it look so easy >>

  • WIN! Such a help! thanks!

  • is he hitting the metal or the wood? bc i havent figured this out

  • @darkxalaric Tapping a harmonic is the same as a natural harmonic, you don't actually need to tap it, you can just play the harmonic like normal. You don't hit the fret or the wood, you gently touch the string with your finger.

  • @darkxalaric you can't make harmonics tapping the wood -.-

  • @TheCOBHCREW i didnt know, thats why i asked, ive never taken lessons so im not formally educated in stuff like this and i want to thank danecook321 for his help

  • he sounds asian at 1:42

  • @KBOG420 lol

  • sperm ring?

  • i hate u tube comershals

  • @fistacorpse nice one, Captain Obvious

  • 0:51 ahaha

  • HE USED THE BAD FINGER!!! XD

  • 0:51 yeah i do that alot too especially to you if you start it

  • You have girl nails.

  • @GdMABtch only in the right hand

    it's for the fingerstyle

  • @GdMABtch actually he has NOT girl nails;guitarists sometimes have long nails, because its easier to play with your nails than play with your fingers

  • hahah legend!

  • GGGUUUUYYYYSSSS... what's the weird ring thing he's wearing on his middle finger?

  • @BloodCruise a ring

  • at first i thot he was flipping off his viewers 0: 53 lol

  • 1:38

    Hockay!

    Hahahaha!

    Hilarious!

  • @Dictent he sounds asian

  • Comment removed

  • 0:51 c'mon, u did that on purpose!

  • Dude i love you.

  • hahaha! birdy finger

  • watch evh he uses this technique a lot listen to the mean street intro voila la tapping harmonics

  • 1:40 hockay!

  • @filipje1993 xaxaxaxaxax

  • @SgtWaffles42 Well, not really, when you move your pickup across the string, you will notice, that at some points the overtones of the string will have knots or maxima, making the different pickup positions sound very different. The advantage of the bridge pickup is, that there will never be knots, at least the first few overtones. This makes these overtones sound more homogenous, and because what you're playing here are first overtones, the sound will be better.

  • i wiss i knew how you do that even if i manage to get the rigth hand freting wich i have i still dont know how to do it

  • i wiss i knew how you do that even if i manage to get the rigth hand freting wich i have i still dont know how to do it

  • what happends from 12 fret and further?

  • he flicked us off lol!

  • I'm not very good with guitars, but I have a question. On my Epiphone guitar the different pickup settings are labeled Treble and Rhythm (and the middle is both). Which one of those is the bridge pick-up? I have a strong feeling it is the Treble but if anyone can confirm that would be great.

    Thanks

  • @LeTHaL0x Try to knock on these pickups by pick, u ll see :-) But yeah, bridge is treble, neck is rhytm...

  • is really true that tapping and other harmonics are easier done in the bridge pickup?...can anyone answer?...

  • Wow I didn't know that

  • wow...i never would've noticed...lol

  • anyone know what tune is good to start these in? like drop d or drop c or anything of that sort?

  • Okay so I need help, I am learning the solo of It Dwells On Me by All That Remains, it's one full step down in tuning, and it says to hold the 9th fret them tap the 21st which makes sence, but after the 21st it says to tap 19th and 14th, and it doesn't seem to work, any help?

  • Hey man just means to hold the 9th fret bend throughout all taps. so tap 21 while continueing to hold the bend then pull right hand tap finger off 21 and tap 19 while holding bend with left hand, etc.

  • Ok so, I bend on the 9th fret and tab the others with my right whil continuing to hold the 9th? Okay I'll try that, thanks

  • yep you got it:)

  • alright my bad just listened to the song. um theres no bend just vibrato on F string 4th fret and only once. should be like F:4~ ----(artificial taps) 16---11--11--9. an easy way to do it is first strike the first note which is on the F string 4th fret and then strike each harmonic with a pick while keeping your left hand on 4.. I listened to the song and matched it. hope that made sense lol

  • Thanks haha, :p

  • he probably fliped off your mom

  • @chuy655 Wow. You insulted someones mom over the internet. We know you're going to college

  • this is something ive been wanting to know, can i do everything with my cheap guitar, i feel its impossible to tap or is it probably just my technique, please tell me, thanks :)

  • u need a amp set to high gain wif distortion .that's all

  • at 0:53 he flipps you off :D

  • i cant seen to get ANY harmonics out of my guitar..sqeals..naturals or tapped...nothing works..could it by my amp..its quite small

  • Cause you're doing it wrong. Never blame your equipment.

  • Any guitar can make harmonics. Just learn.

  • ehh well generally it is technique, but equipment does play a role, aside from the natural harmonics. If your guitar is decent enough You could do a pick up swap to get more gain out of it. Or if you dont want to, just adjust the level your current pick ups are at and you will get more distortion, just dont raise it all the way near the string,

  • so the tapping technique only works on harmonic frets respectively?

  • the RRRite hand! ^^

  • nice! =)

  • Great lesson man. I remember how when I first started playing guitar I discovered this on my acoustic. I thought I had discovered some awesome new techinque lol

  • so thats the trick!

  • amazing playing, good teaching and you look like Angus Young btw :D hehe

  • fucking nice... thanks..

  • make a video where u only play all tecnhiques but no lesson only play beacous thats what u played wa awesome

  • You my friend, are an amazing teacher, thank you very much

  • This rocks on acoustic, nice video.

  • LoL...0:52...

  • Justin says fuck you lol.

  • i did this on a classical acoustic just to stuff around and it works.. to an extent. deffinetly not as well

  • why thanks you good sir =P

  • thats some long nails...

  • when you play the guitar it is useful to have ong nails on your strumming hand so one can do some good finger picking.

  • DAMMIT HERMAN INTERUPTED!

    1:40

  • aHaha that was good...lol

  • ¿?

  • WTF He flipt us off at 53 lmao haha

  • thats y he called it his birdie finger

  • "flipt"

  • only tapping 12 frets abov fretted note makes a harmonic?

  • Yeah, basically. That makes a harmonic one octave above the fretted one:)

  • 5th and 7th fret do work, it's just a little harder.

  • for me the 7th is easier tan the others

  • un vacile

  • pause at 0:52

  • WHOA

  • Sounds better than the squealies Justin.

P.S Harrison Ford as Hans Solo for the Win!

  • lol at 0:53

  • this is harder to do, but you can also go 5 frets or 7 frets above. 9 if your really accurate.

  • wow

    nice video

    Thanks
