  • the beggining chirps reminds me of accidently knocking a chick into the sweres in TX. They had some chicks right beyond the gate who who come in to drink the water collected on the side of the road. I was working on some lawn stuff and thought it was a couple of mice and went to chase it off / kill it. Though it chirpped and started to run. Right into the storm drain. Such cute things though :c one got stuck in my fence the next day so i got to feel how fluffy it was when I took it out. c:

  • I love that cute little bopping movement they do, it makes me laugh :)

  • I love these birds.

    They're cute.

  • I love seeing the babies! Hard to get on film, though.

For the record, baby killdeers will often eat bloodworms, which you can get at an aquarium shop. However, they are very difficult to care for and often die if the care is not exactly right. They take a lot of time and equipment to raise properly. If you find one, contact your nearest wildlife rescue agency.

  • Oh, my Gosh! Those babies are so cute!

  • yes i took care of one myself it eats mealworms. If you touch it the mother will come back trust me i've been there and done it. Took care of and hatched one

  • i rate it a 5/5 because i like it

  • Thanks!

  • the babies are cute!

  • What do Killdeers eat, A friend found a baby one that is really small and fits in my hand.

  • I would think bugs and spiders for protein?? Maybe worms? I think it would be tough to raise one without it's Mama tho'.

  • beautiful birds

  • Yes they are beautiful, and I love seeing them near my garden :)
