  • I'm recovering now thankfully from this mild flu you mentioned after being hospitalised with it. I had the flu and swine flu jabs in November but during December had become exposed to it and as such caught a variant of the flu. The problem with this flu is that it lives in the lungs and damages them. Being asthmatic made things worse. This is not mild flu it is a serious issue, 6 weeks later I'm still on steroids and antibiotics.

  • @Vana1970 -- Any kind of flu can be serious for folks with either compromised or undeveloped immune systems and/or existing lung problems. I find it very interesting that you had your flu shots and supposedly should have been "protected", but obviously wasn't. Right now, they're having quite a time with a varient strain of swine flu in Great Britain. Do you take vitamin D? Might want to look into that. I think many people are deficient.

  • @Michigansnowpony My GP is of the opinion that Swine Flu mutates so quickly they can only protect against one version at a time. The problem with this flu is that it lives in the lungs and the complications from this flu are usually more drastic than normal flu.

  • My dad had to get he vaccine because he is a recovering cancer patient. I'm getting one soon because I travel a lot and spend a lo of time with babies (my nieces) ho are 3 and 9 monts old.

  • Great video:) Im in CA, but when Obama gave Dr's & Hosp the okay to do whatever they needed to to treat for flu, he made it possible to skew the figures cuz now they don't test for type of flu they just treat all as H1N1 & report as H1N1. We opted out of vaccine for family. Pediatrician said next yr they're addingH1N1 to seasonal flu vaccine, so look out for that. Thanx for all the videos you share :0)

  • Great points, Renee! Healthcare workers pressured to get nasal vaccine (live virus), and incubate and spread live H1N1 to the hospital patients they're in contact with (who have by definition compromised immune systems). Result: program helps to spread H1N1, to vulnerable patient populations.

  • Great video, however, when people are injured and hospitalized, they too can also have compomised immune systems especially if they have had to have surgery for internal injuries. They are considered sick. No vaccines for me. I used to get the seasonal flu shot but not anymore. My hubby did take the seasonal one and didn't feel well and was so fatigued for a week. I tried to tell him not to!

  • Good video, and I'm in agreement with those who avoid vaccines for minor illnesses. My hubby will prolly be shot when he goes back to work next week. He never gets sick anyway. I'm abstaining!

  • a 3rd grader in our town died of H1 Wed. It makes you wonder what the news is doing when they tell you about"underlying"med. conditions Are they trying to lull us into a false sence of security because they know it's not right to hype it up? I have never had a flu vac of any type, someone I know got shingles from it, so enough said. My kids get the reg flu shot only because they're with so many kids all day @ school but not H1. BTW they still both had the flu even with the vac. so what do you do

  • I DON"T goto hospitals, I have had so many people go there and end up worse than when they went. ( with staff infections etc ) It would be a very very very bad day I went to the hospital.

  • im choosing not to give my kids or i the shot. or the nose stuff. yuck.. and no my state is not testing anyone either. they are just asuming. i was informed that the test can be very inaccurate with may be the reason why they are not testing anyone. but my dr office said not testing anyone just giving everyone with syptoms the stuff to get well IF it is H1N1

  • Here they are not testing everyone. they are taking every case that comes in to my dr.s office and just giving them the stuff to address the h1n1 automatically. anyone that comes in with any symptoms gets a mask? now i ask. why the healthy people are not getting on to keep from getting it. haha. and i had a appointment for my little 2 yr old and i canceled it because my son is healthy. i don't want him sick. and that gives more time for the dr. to see those who are sick.

  • Thanks for sharing excellent commentary.

  • There are no numbers of h1n1 that can be confirmed..since they are not testing...(w/exceptions you mentioned) so, anything you hear could not represent anything factual...

swine flu vs regular flu, seasonal allergies, etc.

  • My 2-cents. H1N1 is a money-maker for the elite. Moshe and the Baxter story sure is convenient for Baxter competition in the vaccine-making field. Its gang wars. Baxter vs. Glaxo?

  • went to our local group health yesterday on another matter, there were signs everywhere that there was NO h1 available... poorly managed pandemic at best....

  • This is at best foolish and at worst dangerous. Even if you do not contract flu yourself your actions weaken herd immunity, exposing those with poor immune systems. You are endangeroing not just yourself but everybody around you. Unless you have specific medical complications that prevent you from receiving the vaccine, you have no excuse.

  • Well, you're certainly entitled to your opinion(s). However, it can be argued that giving health care workers live vaccine (nasal type) and having them work around sick people immediately afterwards is much more potentially dangerous to others. (Did you watch the video??) Very interesting to me that you use the term "herd" when talking about people. . . . Kind of tells me the mentality behind your thinking, which again, you are certainly entitled to. But we disagree.

  • A few more points: If everyone who wants to, gets their vaccinations, the only people I would be "endangering" (as you put it) would be others who think as I do and choose not to get a flu vaccine. Also, I am not anti-vaccinations across the board. Both my children are vaccinated for Polio, for example. But I do not believe in getting vaccinated for minor illnesses (regular flu) nor taking untested vaccines with unhealthy mercury in them for minor illnesses (swine flu).

  • Speaking directly on the topic of herd immunity. Some might say that an immunity naturally obtained through exposure is more healthy than an artificial manufactured and engineered one.

  • 1. The numbers are made up (period) My state is not testing ANYONE.

    2. The nasal and shot type vaccines are available in my state.

    3. You are right about the nasal type being a live virus and the user transmitting the virus. This same contraindication is on MMR and varivax vaccines.

    4. The Ukraine position is a full flu version of what we got over here in my opinion. Here down for 3-4 days, Ukraine down for 2 weeks.

    5. Yeah, the WHO is dragging their feet.

    GOOD STUFF *****

  • I can't imagine how anyone has not yet had the H1N1 virus. It has whipped through families and entire schools so quickly.

We had it (started 2 weeks ago) and we all finally recovered. But, I started to feel weak, spiked a high fever and got a rattly lung. I was diagnosed with pneumonia (secondary infection from H1N1) they really scared me. I was told it was very dangerous. I've now had 5 days of antibiotis (thank the Lord it was bacterial pneumonia) and I'm recovering slowly.

  • I'm curious: Did they test you for H1N1 specifically?

  • No, they stopped nasal swabbing. I was told that in mid-oct, 1 in 5 kids had H1N1 and the swab samples were coming back as 99.6% positive for H1N1.

We stayed home and weathered this bug.....missed a week of school. Now along with my pneumonia my kids have all developed sinus infections. The pediatrition says he's seeing a lot of that in kids.

  • I guess I will count ourselves lucky that no one got a secondary infection and hubby and I stayed healthy! I started everybody on mega doses (2000mg. for the kids, 4,000 mg. for the adults) of Vitamin D in October. Next year, I will start us on it in September.

  • Vitamin D 1000 IU daily and a multivitamin are what my family is on. My wife actually got the flu and was down for 3 days. Don't know if it was H1N1 once again my state stopped testing for it. Neither my son nor myself contracted it.
