I notice in most of these failures, it is the ground under the outriggers that fail. People seem to not understand it is the earth they are lifing off of and the cane is not levitating, it is catalevering. I am suprized more of these crane cartwheels do not happen. And also a already built and occupied neighborhood is not a construction zone and all the property owners should have a veto right whenever a lift like this is attempted. A authorization in writting along with all the bonding demanded
@ObsenityofAtomicTech Please Look at yer spelling TY Crane is not spelled cane cantilevering not catalevering just pointing out that these typos make you look uneducated and take away for the point you are trying to make which is an excellent point by the way
@ObsenityofAtomicTech I believe he was lifting a huge spa into the back yard of the house it fell on. So the property owners where well aware of why the crane was lifting over the house. There's a video on the web somewhere of the actual accident, I've seen it. The spa was huge, but it didn't look like it could have been more than a ton.
@ffjsb ummm... maybe go and catch real bad guys instead of standing around and not doing anything? Sounds like your the idiot to me... use your imagination, troll!
@Scrompi88 I don't have to use my imagination to know what cops do. He's probably got the road blocked off while they lift the crane. Only a dumbass like you makes a comment about a cop standing by at a scene, which has nothing to do with anything, and is only a few seconds in the video. I kinda doubt the Hamburgler was running the crane.
Right side Outrigger Beams not fully extended, rendering the Load Chart useless. Check video 27 seconds in, no white lines on right rear Outrigger Beam.
Load path in weak quadrant of Working Area Chart, should be over rear of crane for strongest quadrant at longest radius. Hazards associated with the lift must be discussed with all in the work area surrounding the crane, and access must be limited to only personal necessary before beginning operations.
White hard hats. Don't skewer the operator cause he's trying to do his job but doesn't have the balls to call it quits when it gets dicey. Go after the cheese and their infinite wisdom. They set up the pick and choose the rig. Nice shiny pickup, cell phone, and a tape measure makes a dumbass half rate operator a boss just cause he kisses the right asses? Look close before you point blame.
Her "vigilant neighbor who rushed in to save them? Jeez girl what danger were they in?? The roof is still standing but yeah bet he had is 15 seconds of fame from that huh? Local hero haha.

the owners chose to have their house located next to a crane, they are 100% responsible for any damage to the crane or injury to the operator
