Fun fun fun. I used to see Dave Hill pick his kids up from Woodfield Avenue Infants school. Even tho he picked them up in his white Rolls, he's always been true to his roots. A gentleman. Wifes a bit dotty but hey ho!! had the pleasure of seeing and talking to him, Robert Plant, Roy Wood, Bev Bevan and Jasper Carrot at the Hollybush pub on the Penn Road whilst they were planning Heartbeat 86 charity gig. All brilliant.
Too bad they sound like crap!!! I was on stage with the band in Vancouver in the late 70's...Totaly Awesome time!!!!! Drown the lead singer!!! ....Shut it down!!

This is not a bad comment, I know Slade since the middle of the 80's, with "Ti'll Death do us Part", and since them I love Slade. It was a misunderstood. Nice to meet you, my regards from Brazil.!!
Still great live. Proper musicians earning a living and making people happy. So, that is Slade. Jim and Nod wouldn't be up to it these days, even if they found their bottle and gave it a go.
except that on this one at least, they are playin very badly,and even manage to play wrong notes at the start. the less said about that fellas awful horrific screeching the better.yes,Dave and Don are well within their rights to be still out doing it,but why do they have to do it with such really crap stand ins?Nobody could replace Lea n Holder of course, but theres no excuse for this nonsense.Its so embarrassingly bad at some points,and makes us diehards CRINGE BIGTIME!
However, I'm torn about the new guys. No doubt they're quality musicians but they're not Slade. As much as I desperately want to see any of them play sometimes I feel like I'm better off keeping my memories intact up to Big Noize.
It's hard being of two minds when it comes to this - Slade holds a special place in my musical heart.
They're not dead. Noddy quit to pursue other interests and has been acting on British tv. Jim quit when Noddy did in the early 90's saying that Slade wasn't the same without all four of them. He released a solo record in 2007 and released a bunch of singles under various names.

Some of my favs are dead, George Harrison, Marc Bolan, and too many other to mention. Glad to hear they are alive. I was not a Huge Slade fan, but a buddy came back from Germany in the 70's and had an 8 track of them that we listened to and cruised around town in. And of course they have their share of classic songs that have been played for years. I meant no harm to them.
SLADE rocks! You can definately see these guys still enjoy playing live and the crowd is really into it. Wish SLADE would hit the US soon for a tour. Would love to see em live!

I'm prepared to give them a go, it won't hurt to go and see them at least once.
But...
Why, oh why oh WHY do they only ever play in the Midlands as part of a bloody Christmas special tour package with the likes of Mud?
What's wrong with just playing a normal bloody gig in their home town?
My better half hates Mud and won't consider it for one second...

I'm thrilled to see ANY of the guys rocking out.
