Also, it doesn't matter that the kid was exorcising free speech - the Bill of Rights only states what the government cannot do/inhibit, so these things usually don't apply between parents and kids. The uncle was protecting his nephew from a harmful subculture, and wanted to send a message to other parents. This punishment is not nearly as excessive as Judge Adams' who, regardless of what his daughter did, is an abuser.
